According to MLB Network’s Jon Heyman, the St. Louis Cardinals are making a strong push to acquire RHP Erick Fedde. Heyman reports that there is “nothing definitive but some momentum there.” Fedde has been solid in his return to MLB action after one season in Korea, posting a 3.11 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, and 108:34 K:BB ratio in 121 2/3 innings. He would be a solid addition to the end of St. Louis’ rotation as they make a playoff push, but if the Cardinals were to acquire Fedde, that could push Andre Pallante back to the bullpen. I hope not. What does he offer that Hoskins/Bauers/Sanchez don't? No interest, none.

If this is right, I hope we don't do it, really hope we don't do it. I'm just not on board with Fedde given this is the only season he has been anything worth considering. He spent last year overseas, and maybe players haven't quite got him figured out yet. I just don't trust him as our big piece acquisition.

No mention of the Bauer Bomb? Nice shot!

He shouldn't have played as much as he did. The guy was absolute garbage last year. The only reason we kept playing the dude was because he was our big acquisition in the off season. (That may not be accurate, just typing words)

The more I watch this team, the more I do not want to trade any top prospects. This is not the year to go for it, it just isn't. Far too many needs,

Truth! It has to be a HUGE improvement over last year, hell, the last 5 years. Now if that could transfer into scoring more runs, we'd be in business!

I was hoping they would give her that ball!
  13. TURBO
Damn it. Hopefully nothing serious, love watching that kid play, and they are due back in Appleton Tuesday.

I don't like the idea of a bidding war with the Cardinals, but I would think we could beat them... Question is, how much are we willing to give up? This is a scary time for us prospect huggers.
  15. TURBO
No Arienamo in that line-up this time of year scares me...
  16. TURBO
Exactly what I was going to say. Since we seem to find relievers everywhere, trading Williams for a major haul would be cool with me.

Well, we can't make it through a trade deadline without overpaying for a bullpen guy that looks meh. Hope I'm wrong, but looks like a big overpay to me. Just didn't feel like we valued Blalock here at all, and trading Hererra is a real headscratcher to me when I look at the return. I feel really sorry for Hererra and Blalock though, the Colorado Rockies, where pitchers go to die.
