  1. The same was said last year, but now we are talking about a season and a half of GOOD MOOSE! I stand by my prediction that there will be multiple teams in on both Moose and Grandal. Hell, Moose might be on a team's radar for 2B. He did a lot better than most expected there this season, and how great is it to have a 2B that hits like him?
  2. I think both players will have multiple teams that want them. The bottom line is this: Do they want to stay with the Brewers and possibly take a little less than they might get on the open market? I'm not talking about deep hometown discounts, I'm talking about accepting our offers that are near what other teams are offering. Do they like it here enough to go that route? I want them both back, it will suck seeing our roster next season without them if Cain continues to regress, and Arcia just never figures things out. If we don't sign Moose, is DS content with the possibility of Shaw getting right? Talk about a risk.
  3. Well, that scenario could change if we don't have Grandal next year. If we lose Grandal, who do we have? Nottingham has yet to show he belongs on the 25 man roster. Freitas might be able to claw his way onto the team, but I'm not holding my breath. He showed us next to nothing in plenty of chances. I really really really really want Grandal back next season, along with Moose.
  4. dang it! I can't believe I didn't post in this thread.. I am BOOOOing myself right now.
  5. Good manager, nice managerial career with 16 years as skipper. Too bad he was fired in 2008 as a knee jerk reaction, probably would have gotten more out of the 2009 and 2010 clubs than Ken Macha. I disagree. He lost his clubhouse, his players, and I was as happy as everyone else to see him go.
  6. There is no such thing as automatic wins in baseball.
  7. There WILL be a market for Moose and Grandal, bet on it. The question is, how much did they like it here, and will they want to come back before listening to other teams offers? Money talks, so we'll see if they want to be back in Milwaukee or take the money and run. (assuming Stearns wants them back, and I can't understand why he wouldn't.)
  8. Have you never played competitive baseball? Laugh all you want, but that play is made often, and not just by big leaguers.
  9. Maybe not quite jerkish, but borderline for sure. Condescending is probably a better fit.
  10. I'd question if you knew how hard it is to make some of these plays. Yes, Arcia will tell you he should make that play and he is talented enough to do so. But it's not easy. MOST professional SS in MLB make that play. I get it, it isn't routine, but he should have had it, and no excuse making will hide that fact. I've made that play myself countless times when I was still playing, it wasn't that hard.
  11. It is for me. Our pitching right now is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSLY OUTRAGEOUSLY MASSIVELY THE BEST EVER!!!! There, someone had to say it.
  12. I hope the plan is NOT to give Hader 3 innings. That isn't what he typically does, if that was their plan, I'd hope they build him up to that rather than just toss him into that role. Didn't he struggle in that 3 inning role earlier in the season? You know, when he was their only real relief option, before things got figured out in the bull pen?
  13. BA just said it was a sell-out today...
  14. I saw someplace it would be made up on the 30th if rained out...
  15. With the success of Moose and Grandal, I can easily see another team jump in the bidding for both players. I can easily see us not getting either of them. I would have been on board with offering them extended contracts during this season, especially since they have both been pretty important to our success this year. They are both vital cogs to our success, and I fear we lose them both to free agency to a bigger spending team than Milwaukee. I can also se a team like Houston, Boston, or many others willing to take a chance on Lyles in the off season, just like Houston did with Miley. Their performance is boosted by their exposure in Milwaukee, then *poof*, another team sucks them up. Pomeranz is as good as gone imo. Too many teams will be looking to shore up their bullpen, and unless he wants to give us a deal, I can't see us resigning him either. He has been great for us, which in the end will hurt our chances because with every good appearance he makes for us, his price goes up. That leaves Gio… I'd have him back, but only on a really good low priced one year deal. We use him for such short starts, the amount we pay him shouldn't be much.
  16. The Reds series will not look much like this Pirates series. The Reds will put up a fight, and their pitching can easily shut us down if they are on. Those who take the Reds series lightly might be disappointed, or, they might not be, we shall see.
  17. Barnes - Burnes? Nice. Wonder if they ever followed each other in a game last season.
  18. How many times in MLB history has a pitcher followed another pitcher with only one letter difference in their last names? Marvel - Markel Not that this would be a possibility to look up, but interesting none the less. Kind of anyway.
  19. I would hold my breath every single time he was hit a routine grounder. For sure, but to be honest, it is getting that way with Hiura too...
  20. I disagree, He wasn't sent down because of his defense, he was sent down so we could give Shaw another shot to get right. Shaw failed, and in the meantime, our offense had continued to fail as well. Hiura is a major boost to the offense, that can't be argued. It was still a failure to send him down, defense be damned. They eventually decided that they needed the bat in the lineup, defense be damned. I still think he was originally sent down because his defense blows. They had a change of heart. Getting Shaw back up so he didn't have hurt feelings was the primary reason Hiura was sent down. That is just an opinion of course...
  21. Has Hiura ever played in the OF? Does he have any kind of an arm to play out there? I'd like to see Braun at 1B, however, you can't just take anyone and throw them out in the OF. I think he's athletic enough to do it. Generally your weakest arm plays left think Kris Davis. I think if they work with him in the spring he could pull it off. If all it takes is athleticism, he will be fine at 2B then... He will settle in, I'm confident about that. You can bet he will be drill relentlessly in spring training, probably in the offseason as well.
  22. That will make up for an error every single time! 2 run HR for Hiura! Love it!

  25. Is there any chance that the DH happens in the NL next season, or is that still at least 2 seasons away?
