    Are you just copy and pasting the same guys into every single trade now? Geez.

    You can't offer the same exact players in EVERY trade scenario. You have to take into account what the team we are trading needs. What makes you think all these teams need the same thing? What makes you think all these teams want the guys that you don't want? It's monotonous.

    Dude, you are not even close with this offer. You are withholding all the blue-chips that it would surely take to get Skenes, much less from a division rival. Out of the players you listed, they'd probably have interest in Henderson, and some of the others as nothing but throw-ins. JUST NOT EVEN CLOSE!

    Mitchel won't be back, that is my prediction. Even if he does get healthy enough to come back, only a matter of time before he goes down again. He simply can't be counted on, period! I have lost all faith in the guy, and have moved on...

    Trading within the division would be tough. I disagree that he is one of the MOST talented in MLB. He has been unable to put it all together, even the bat hasn't lived up to expectations. I wouldn't want him in our defensive alignment anyplace. Everyone we currently employ is better, a LOT better than him defensively.

    DVD PURGE: Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Was looking forward to giving this a watch since I probably haven't seen it in it's entirety since the 80's. I mean, I was 11 or 12 when this came out and it was HUGE at the time. Watching it now in 2025, it was just ok. We are pretty spoiled these days with special effects and such, and in 1977 when this was made, it was probably cutting edge... Storyline was good, everything was fine, but that is the best I can say. It was fine. Do I need to see it again, nope. Goner Colors - I really really really really love this movie, always have. Came out when the gangs in LA were all the rage. Literally, it was kind of sad at the time how pop culture put these murdering thugs on a pedestal. Of course rap music was the rage, and that is where most of it came from. Anyway, great movie, love it from the cops perspective. KEEPER!

    The ideal situation would be to keep Miz and have a Skenes/MIZ top of the rotation for the next 5 years. Probably impossible, but then again, prying Skenes form them is probably also totally impossible without giving up the entire farm. Fun to think about, but probably just a waste of brain power in the end.

    If that would get it done, it would already be done. I don't think that is even close to what it would take. First of all, take Quintana out of any deal involving Ramirez, that is just whacko to even think he'd be in that conversation. Secondly, Made would almost certainly be in any talks to get Ramirez, that would be the starting point. Made, Henderson, Pratt and that still wouldn't be enough...

    I honestly think we have to start giving Collins credit for what he has done. If he continues, LF is not an issue moving forward. I keep seeing people wanting to add outfielders, and that just isn't our biggest weakness. Yes, Frelick going down hurts, hopefully he makes it back in a timely manner, but I think we can plug the OF until that time. I think moving Turang to SS at this point in the season would be a mistake. I think getting an overpaid poorly defending SS would also be a mistake. I don't think we realize sometimes how good we have it defensively with Ortiz. I am banking on his bat continuing to improve. I'm fine with letting Durbin handle 3B. The guy I'd love to add would be someone like Willy Castro. He can play every position (2B, 3B, SS and OF) adequately, and has a solid bat. No clue if the Twins would entertain a trade, or what it would cost to get him. Also no clue on the status of his current contract. All I know is he would be a great piece to add, and can play all over the field, and can hit.

    That is because they are close to useless, and don't help us in any way. Big PASS.

    What about Robert would help us? He's an OFer, and a horrible bat. Everyone we have on our current roster is better, and it isn't even that close. What does Rengifo do for us? Horrible fielder, below average bat. He absolutely does not fit our profile, nor does Robert. I'd rather sit pat, not do a damn thing, than waste any prospects on either of them.

    He is probably the last thing we will need next year given the young talent at starting pitcher that this team currently has. I agree with the poster above, trade him in the next couple of weeks, don't look at resigning him in the off season.

    I didn't say I wouldn't love to add him, but I fear the cost is going to be way more than we should consider paying. Which is basically what I said in the original post. I don't want to overpay for a 2 month rental.

    I know there are some here who'd like to snag him (I am not in that group, hate to overpay for a 2 month rental) The Athletic’s Patrick Mooney reports that “it’s no secret that the Cubs are looking at [Eugenio] Suárez as a potential upgrade at third base.” Matt Shaw has not performed up to the level that the Cubs hoped for in his rookie season, and Justin Turner can’t be counted on as a full-time third baseman at this stage in his career, so it’s no surprise that the Cubs are looking for a new hitter to man the hot corner. Suárez already has 35 home runs on the season with 85 RBI and a .928 OPS in 98 games this season. He’s a free agent at the end of the season and seems all but assured to be traded at the deadline, with the Cubs and Yankees as the two favorites. 1h ago Source: The Athletic

    DVD PURGE: Casualties of War - Not a feel good movie, but I'm a sucker for Viet Nam movies. Pretty disturbing at times, but it stays. Keeper Click - Don't need to see it again, Goner Cobb - I think a lot of the stuff in this movie has been disproven, but I'm sure he probably wasn't a good guy. Keeper Clockwork Orange - I've always felt this movie was very over rated. There are some iconic scenes, that can't be argued, but to me, it just isn't that great. I don't need it in the collection as I doubt I'll ever have the urge to see it again. Goner Mallrats - Strayed from the "C's" for this one since I have been seeing the Kevin Smith stuff a lot lately, figured I'd just complete the ones in my collection... Like all the Kevin Smith stuff, has it's moments, but not for me. Goner
