  1. Ouch to my 2 fantasy teams that have him as one of my closers. 😡
  2. Maybe as a throw in. I think the times of Black having trade value are over, sadly.
  3. I think Letson is probably 2.5 years away, not 3 to 4. I would deal him for 2 months of Suarez. Ned a player with at least another season of control if you want to start adding our blue-chip guys.
  4. No mention of the Brewers in the final 4 at CBS Sports. For that reason, I expect him to be a Brewer in less than 24 hours. 😆 Final four for Suárez? Diamondbacks slugging third baseman Eugenio Suárez is the top talent thought to be available before Thursday's deadline, and that's for good reason. He's slashing .248/.321/.577 with 36 homers and 87 RBI in 105 games entering Wednesday. He's in his walk year, and with the D-backs having slid from contention, they're actively shopping him. Any number of contenders could use such a power bat in the lineup, and MLB.com reports that the final market for Suárez is taking shape with the Mariners, Cubs, Tigers, and Phillies as the leading contenders for his services at this fairly late hour. Suffice it to say having those four in the mix will drive up the price for Suárez. Don't be surprised if Arizona targets "close to ready" talents as the core of the return, as they'll look to return to contention in 2026. Dayn Perry
  5. Weird: The Athletic’s Dan Hayes said Willi Castro’s removal from Wedesday’s game was not because a trade was done. Apparently, the Twins were just trying to get Castro an ovation coming off the field when they pulled him in the ninth. Castro remains extremely likely to be traded prior to Thursday’s deadline. 6. True, but Montesario isn't any better. I agree, we need an upgrade, but Montesario isn't that.
  7. What would that prove? Substitute one bad hitting SS for another? I'd rather have Joey's defense.
  8. Just have to post this here. Seems we are out of the race for the services of our favorite reliever...Damn. Andrew Golden of the Washington Post reports that the Nationals are trading pitchers Andrew Chafin and Luis Garcia to the Angels. The Nationals will acquire left-handed pitcher Jake Eder and first baseman Sam Brown in the deal, per Golden. Chafin has been a solid relief option for Washington at the age of 35, and he and Garcia will both provide middle-inning help for a team that is closer to contention than anyone could have imagined to begin 2025. 9. Hayes has basically been a bust. I can't believe the Reds think they need another 3B on their roster.
  10. ahhhh, somebody gets me. 😄 All that you just typed is truth in a nutshell.
  11. lol Thanks for the psychological evaluation, but if you knew me better, you'd know that just isn't true.
  12. True, but then there is always that high pitch count early... 5 inning Freddy is at it again.
  13. Don't we have that now with Collins, Chourio and Frelick? I think there are people on this board who are forgetting what Collins has done for us this year.
  14. Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports that the Guardians are “trying” to move Steven Kwan and Shane Dieber before the July 31 trade deadline. There’s been plenty of talk about the Guardians being willing to move Kwan, but now it sounds like it’s a priority; perhaps in an effort to “sell high” on the outfielder. Bieber also makes sense as a player who makes money for a team that doesn’t like spending it and is on the outskirts of contention. The right-hander is returning from Tommy John surgery and has completed four rehab starts, so he could help a team for the playoff push. He also has a $16 million club options and $4 million buyout for 2026. Source: Mark Feinsand
