  1. You do realize that it is super simple to not be, right? This board is too caught up on telling people how to feel, and how to post.
  2. Straw man argument. Nobody, outside of a couple cock-eyed optimists were saying they knew they would turn it around. Lots of us WERE saying it's not over. Big difference. Strawman argument. Of course it wasn't over, but it sure felt like it. Yes, it wasn't over, DUH, but it seemed like this team was going the wrong direction. No one can deny that. So maybe I phrased that wrong.
  3. Oh please... There was no sign of a turn around 10 days ago. Things were going South, and most everyone on this site thought it was over. Even the everlasting optimists were doubting. Now people are going to say "see, I told you we would turn it around" even though 99.99% of the people on this site were thinking it was over. It goes both ways. It's just as big of a cop-out saying "you knew it would turn" as it is saying " it's over." It's just as easy to act like you knew all along that they would come around and be relevant again. Dumb argument. There were no signs of life as few as 10 days ago, everything pointed to the season ending badly. Good for those who actually believed it would change, but I don't believe anyone who says they "knew" what was going to happen. I fully admit I thought it was over... I don't think I was as vocal as most about it, but I surely had those thoughts, if you say you didn't think the same thing, I just don't believe you. Sorry.
  4. 7 in a row! Doesn't matter who you are beating, that is impressive at this point in the season!
  5. That’s all’s I can stands and I can’t stands no more. Freitas hurt his rib cage late August and missed more than a week, came back, got 7-8 AB’s, got called up to MKE, and has only pinch hit, albeit every game, and has yet to get a hit, with 3 bb and 2 K’s. Point is, we are not seeing him at his best, not even close, unlike most of you, I’ve watched Freitas when he was playing every day and in a rhythm, he’s closer to a Great hitter than a good hitter. Go ahead and knock 100 points off his AAA average if you want, that would still make him almost a .300 hitter in the big leagues. He’ll hit eventually, even if it’s only in a pinch hitting roll, he’s too good a hitter not too. But go ahead and pretend how smart we are by declaring Freitas a journeyman failure, but remember it’s because of his defense and not his hitting. All that and he still sucks.
  6. I think Davies could have served up that meat ball, we didn't need Claudio, during his 1,000,000 th appearance this season to do it...
  7. Yes because CC knows his pitchers 1.8 billion times better than you do. Doh! That comment didn't age so well...
  8. I think CC is riding his so hard because they know he isn't coming back. Kind of like they did with Sabathia when we had him, just trying to get our money out of him...
  9. Actually, CC often puts a guy on the bench the day after a monster game. I'm not shocked and it's frustrating to see.
  10. c'mon man... It's not a game if it doesn't last 4 freaking hours.
  11. Jackson takes forever between pitches. I like the Suter pace a lot better. I welcome a pitch clock.
  12. Ummm, I think that this game isn't over man... 5 runs isn't that safe given our situation...
  13. Time to POUR IT ON! Every run matters with this bullpen!
  14. He is not beyond reproach. That crazy cat makes some dumbass decisions, and that is pretty obvious to most of us...
  15. Do that, and you are on the next flight to Cincinnati...
  16. and Thames is not capable of adding to the big inning with bases loaded? Did he or did he not just hit a mammoth HR against a lefty? I just think there are times when you don't need to overthink the situation. It was early, and odds are, we would use Braun later anyway, now they are both out of the game.
  17. Ok, that should do it. Freddy has to be done for the night. Too late, as often is the case...
  18. It isn't CC's fault he has nothing to work with... That may be true, but with this many guys at your disposal, and Freddy doesn't have it tonight, you have to try someone else to stop the bleeding before it's too late.
  19. They brought in Braun to PH against the lefty and then the Marlins brought in the righty. So we used up Braun really early, and Thames is out of the game and we got nothing in return? I'd have still went with Thames there and saved Braun for later in the game. tinker-tinker-tinker
