  1. That statement was in general. I don't want to see him pinch run on a double switch, be forced into the line-up and then have to bat 2 times in a playoff game. He is close to worthless at the plate. imo
  2. I hope that Keon wouldn't be substituted in on defense for Cain or Yelich, who unless injured, better be playing every inning in the play-offs. That leaves Braun, and I don't wnat his bat out of the line-up either. Big lead, sure, Keon for Braun defensively. Slide Yelich to Left and Keon in RF.
  3. As long as Broxton doesn't pinch run for someone (Shaw, Jesus) then have to bat 2 or 3 times in an extra inning game...
  4. True, but during the course of a season, CC does make some head scratching decisions, that can not be argued. He is not untouchable, and questioning certain moves is ok to do as a fan.
  5. yeah, that was so misplaced... almost like they thought it was over at that point. lol at silly Cubs fans.
  6. I'm a bit concerned too. It's a game time thing, I had to unload my 4 tickets solely due to game time. If it was at 7, I easily could have attended and found 3 other people wanting to go. I can't imagine there will be too many empty seats. And Friday will for sure sell out, much easier to take a half day on a Friday than Thursday. I'm thinking a lot of Cub fan bought up tickets thinking they would be in this series. All of those fans are trying to unload them now. Watching those prices drop is just adding insult to their injury. I actually take joy in this. Does that make me a bad guy?
  7. BILL HALL??? We're probably still paying him, so why not have him do something I guess. The point of bringing back T-Plush would be to get the crowd fired up. There isn't anyone that would be fired up about seeing Bill Hall back, unless it was mother's day. I think Nyjer would be one of the most "electric" first pitch candidates you could come up with. If you want to give the crowd warm fuzzy feelings about the past, then Prince, Rickie, Yount, etc. Purely to fire up a crowd, you aren't beating T-Plush. Or Sabathia once he retires... Or during a World Series game this year.
  8. Interesting... Not judging, only want success for the team, but it's odd he couldn't crack the starting rotation during the season, but can do so in the playoffs. I'm sure he won't go more than a couple innings, so does it really count as a start? Man, this game can't start soon enough!
  9. All true!
  10. LOL That made me actually chuckle out loud!
  11. Yes welcome, and your profile picture is awesome as hell! I used to love that old AFX slotcar stuff as a kid. I have about 600 feet of track, equipment, Data Race systems, etc., and a case of cars in my basement that I always plan to set up, but never get around to it. Maybe your pic will inspire me!
  12. You need to relax guy. Does that comment add to the discussion in any way...........at all? I'm to the point of trusting the judgement of those who make those judgements. It has gotten us this far, so why not?
  13. ...and Judge gets a dream pitch to hit, and he HITS it! Boy did he hit it!
  14. Yankee Stadium is electric!
  15. Morgan was fun while we were winning, not so much in 2012. That is when the act got tired for me. During 2011, it was fun!

  17. If Schoop is going to be a part time player, then I agree, no need to pay him 10 million. If he was going to log 85-90% of the innings at 2B, then I think it is a gamble worth the risk. If we do get Moose back, that means Shaw will have time at 2B, which makes Schoop expendable.
  18. Are you looking for a pat on the back and a "good job"? I think most everyone has seen Peralta for what he is ... a very young, inconsistent guy with electric stuff and a potentially solid future. If there is a chance that his perepherals point to the idea that he can be an asset on the NLDS roster, he'll be on it. I'm not going to lose sleep if he doesn't make the roster, though. If he does, I imagine he's one of the final guys, unless they plan on starting him in one of the first four games. See, that's not necessary. Not at all. I'm admittedly expressing frustration that a week ago I couldn't even generate a response to the idea that Peralta should be on the 25 man, much less get a start. No replies, no one putting him on the 25-man. And now today he's appearing everywhere like it's a revelation. He's Hader-level dominant vs RHB like I said a week ago when it seemed to have no impact. There has to be a use for that. We'll see soon and I can't wait. I took it the same way, like you were looking for a pat on the back... *pat*pat* Nice job.
  19. geez, memories of Kotsay...
  20. Only if they have to apply tags, if that is the case, he would be great on the clean-up crew. He is the best tagger in MLB.
  21. that is just..........CRUEL.
  22. They'll be especially terrible when you're in the concourse area behind the seats and everyone in the stands is standing up. Not usually a problem during the regular season but there will be a lot of extended standing during the postseason and you won't be able to see jack if you've got SRO. I can't imagine actually buying SRO, was just curious how it worked.
  23. As long as the Cubs have money to spend (forever) they will just buy any pieces they feel they need. Must be nice. Makes it that much sweeter to foil their plans.
