and here we go again, horrible defense by the Cards, Cubs score. that was a pathetic attempt by Munoz. this is already sickening to watch.
-
It is curious to hear the argument that Báez should win the MVP if the Cubs win the division juxtaposed with the argument that deGrom should be the Cy Young and MVP based on his win probability added and WAR values. I think ultimately Yelich will win it because I believe there are more voters that fall into the middle ground where Yelich seems to have the strongest case by traditional standards and measures. They both picked Scherzer over deGrom for NL Cy Young.

I'm totally expecting Mikolas to get rocked today...
-
It's hard to get used to rooting for the Cardinals, it's so ingrained in me to wish total and complete failure upon them.
-
Cubs/Cardinals on Fox. Guess I'll be mowing the lawn later.
-
Just saw Frank Thomas and A-Rod picking their winners. Thomas said Baez, and A-Rod said whoever wins the Central will decide the MVP between Yelich and Baez. Jerkfaces.
-
So the Cardinals are throwing in the towel? Horrible showing for a team playing for their lives.
-
blasphemy!

Total of 5 squirrels caught. The last one finally came out into the trap. was probably lonely and hungry. All mice gone/dead, who cares, they no longer make noise and keep us up at night. All trees and shrubs have been trimmed so that the little bastards can't climb onto the roof any longer. All entry holes, no matter how small are closed up. Process is complete. If anyone finds themselves in a situation like mine in the Fox Valley, I would recommend using my guy without hesitation. His business is called Nuisance Pro, main office is in Neenah.
-
It won't be that surprising to see the Cards lay an egg for the next three games. I expect it, because it's the Cardinals. If there is a way to screw us, they will find it.
-
Also my prediction. Unfortunately, I'm on board with this one as well. Cubs win the division because Shildt will be a deer in headlights. Cubs will do just enough, or the Brewers will stub their toe just enough to allow the Cubs to have the title. That said, I am on the Cardinals bandwagon now. C'mon Carpenter! [sarcasm]Mods... please feel free to delete this post after the playoffs so I won't be on record for being a Cardinals fan... [/sarcasm] We are ALL Cardinals fans this weekend...

I just hope that the Flaherty start matters... I do not want to face that guy in a WC game. -
Well, we surely did give up some big pieces to form our current roster, that is for sure. Is our farm "gutted?" That remains to be seen. Isan Diaz, Monte Harrison, Gilbert Lara, Kodi Medeiros, Demi Orimoloye, Jorge Lopez, Brett Phillips, Jean Carmona, and Luis Ortiz. There are a bunch of top prospects in that group. Those aren't a bunch of names that didn't hurt... I just hope that the end result was worth it.
-
why would you even bring that in here! um, because we discuss things here, you know, on a discussion board. I am hoping I am 100% wrong, not really even predicting that will happen, just listing it as a possibility. Thanks for your input though.

Pirates down 2-0. *sigh*

As a lifelong Brewers fan (born in 1965), it is insane to think that this in only the 5th time in team history to make the playoffs. (5 times if you count the strike shortened season of 1981) Even more insane is the fact that 3 of those 5 have taken place the last 10 years. It's a magical time to be a Brewers fan!

Does WGN not carry Cubs games anymore? Come to think of it, is WGN still a network?
-
I can just see Baez having a huge weekend, a couple walk off hits/Hrs. Tons of RBIs, just enough to over shadow Yelich and all he has done the the second half. I can see him getting the national spotlight as the Cubs are trying to seal the Central. That would suck sooooo badly.

2018 Standings and Playoff Race Discussion
TURBO replied to Eye Black's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
I don't think we could ask for a better 3 game series for the Cubs. If anyone will play them tough it's the Cardinals. I'm a little worried about us playing the Tigers, seems like the perfect let-down series, but I'd rather be playing them then the Pirates... We couldn't have drawn it up better ourselves, it's all on the line, what more could we ask for besides already clinching the division? lol Such a great, great season! -
Cubs win. BOOOOO.
-
Coach Cooper would be frowning on this board for scoreboard watching at this very moment, even in celebration. No scoreboard watching is sacred.
-
And some wrecked lungs as some of the players are dragging on their stogies like its an unfiltered camel. Coach Cooper always says to save the stogies for the big moments, but smoke unfiltered marlboros like there is no tomorrow, each and every day.
-
I'm looking soooo forward to seeing Corbin Burnes in our rotation next season.
-
I feel the same. I can't stand him and have nothing to base that on...Must be because he is a Cardinal.
