  1. So just ignore the sitaution all together, rather than satisfying our curiosity? It's a simple question, not sure why this bothers you so much.
  2. Not a fan of Hader pitching another inning here. this means he is done for the weekend, rather than being able to pitch another high leverage inning Saturday or Sunday.
  3. It's not a stretch or strange thing to ask the question why has Kratz overtaken Pina for playing time. Seems like a logical question to me. If Thames suddenly started seeing more starts at 1B than Jesus, is that an appropriate question to ask? I honestly don't care who starts at catcher, I'm assuming there is a logical reason, at least in CC's mind, but there is nothing wrong with people wondering what gives, and there is nothing wrong with a member of the media asking what's the reason that Kratz is getting more starts than Pina.
  4. Nice that we are smoking the ball tonight, but I hope we don't use them all up and save some bullets for that WC game!
  5. ok, they showed a graphic on tv that had the Brewers 2 behind the Cubs, not 2.5...
  6. AM I wrong about this? Since the Cubs lost, if we win tonight we are one game out of 1st? Can that be?
  7. This should cause some chaos in the locker room, so there is that...
  8. Chase Anderson? (got numbers for him too?)
  9. Not sure of spelling... Eldridge I think? https://www.washingtonpost.com/education/2018/09/11/pistols-safety-catch-may-have-stopped-year-old-shooting-his-teacher-face-report-says/?noredirect=on&utm_term=.792f1d3af52d The news story is a bit different than what the town knows happened based on people in the room at the time. The article says the teacher wrestled the student, but the story in town is that she knocked the gun away and the kids jumped him. My brother in law thought that they didn't want the second part of the story in the media, why I do not know. Either way, it was a pretty bad situation, and that teacher has a new lease on life... https://www.kwqc.com/content/news/New-details-on-student-who-brought-gun-to-class-at-North-Scott-Jr-High-School-492728041.html
  10. Same, we have to. It's just another part of the day in the life of a teacher, that when I started in this profession, wasn't even a consideration. What teacher in 1990 thought that one day I can go to school, and possibly get shot, and not go home from school, ever again.
  11. I think mostly people are just appreciating what he's done for the team this year. I don't think anyone is saying he's an awesome pitcher, or that he's going to continue to be a 2.50 ERA guy. He's really come through for the Brewers this year when they needed him to, no more, no less. looking for "like" button...
  12. My brother-in-law lives in Iowa, small town, small community of about 5,000 people, mostly rural. A coupe of weeks ago, a 12 year old walks up to his teacher, points a gun at her and pulls the trigger. Luckily, the student was not smart enough to remove the safety, and the gun did not go off. Teacher knocked the gun out of his hands, the class immediately jumped on top of the kid and held him down until the cops/and or other help arrived on the scene. What would have happened had that gun went off is anyone's guess. Would he have started shooting students, would he have turned the gun on himself? Thankfully, we'll never know. That teacher though, how do you come back from that? She absolutely could be dead. I'm assuming they have an ALICE plan in their school which promotes FIGHT if necessary. That would explain the other students in the room jumping the shooter. I don't know if the teacher told them to jump him, or if they did it on their own. Either way, it's impressive that they acted so quickly. This can happen anyplace, anytime in our nation's schools. There is no way outside of metal detectors and body searches to stop it. Even then, kids can wait outside after school or before school and start picking other kids and staff off with rifles, assault guns, pistols, pipe bombs, whatever... Being a high school teacher, this touches me pretty deeply as I know that on any given day, this can happen at my school. There are no schools that are exempt from this danger, none. Every school has a certain population of kids that could do it, it's just a matter of will they make that decision someday, or won't they. If they make that decision, will other kids in the know report it before it happens? It's scary.
  13. I can't believe I am thinking, then typing this, but I'd start Miley in a one game play-off, winner moves on, loser goes home. I think he has earned it, and I think he is mentally the guy to use in that situation. Short leash, absolutely, goes without saying no matter who starts the game. One ounce of trouble and bring in the next guy.
  14. Everything about the guy has been impressive. I shook my head in wonder when we picked him up, I was wrong...
  15. Wow, that's the ultimate "let's got home for the year" lineup. Watch them beat the Cubs 8-1 tonight now That line-up does us no favors...yikes.
  16. Good start so far, both offensively and pitching. Take care of one game at a time and what happens, happens.
  17. Pretty tough to dictate how others feel and perceive how the season will play out... It is pretty obvious why some feel like they do. People coming here and telling others not to over react, etc. is just ridiculous. No one views the current situation the same as the guy next to him. Based on history (which I don't believe is a factor in my panic) there is good reason for people to question how things might work out. This is such a different team than the ones that recently bombed. Not the same guys, make-up, or situation as any of those teams, so really, no one knows how it will end. It's as tiring for me to see people posting to stop over reacting as it is for people who say we are going to choke it away. It is what it is.
  18. As long as Broxton and Thames do not start... Or Perez... Geez.
  19. No possible chance we mess this up... Right?
