  1. Villar, whether he deserved it or not, was in the doghouse. CC never played him on any kind of a regular basis. It wasn't going to change, so it was best we moved on.
  2. I went to the 3 game series vs the Cubs at Miller Park in June. Not one issue, except for excessive celebration by a couple of 14 or15 year old boys 2 rows up. They deserved to be beaten, but that is beside the point. That was game #1, I really hoped they were at game #2 and 3 as we won those two games. We were not sitting in the nosebleeds, we were on level one, which is maybe why we didn't encounter any of the idiots.
  3. That is what happens when the Milwaukee Braves bolt, leaving the clostest team for baseball fans to follow in Chicago. There is a generation of people whose Fathers and Grandfathers were Braves fans, they left, so they started to follow the cubs. When your Dad is a fan of a team, you become the same. In the end, it's Milwaukee's fault that we have so many Cubs fans in Wisconsin.
  4. Why bench both Moose and Shaw on the same day? I get it, he's playing the match-ups, so then why is Yelich in there? (I don't want Yelich benched for the lefty, just saying...) Imo, at the very least, one of the two should be in the line-up every single day, no matter who is pitching against us.
  5. Go Dodgers!! Not only are they my secondary team, them winning the division would greatly benefit us as we hold tie breakers over Arizona and Colorado. Secondary team? That's blasphamy.
  6. Woodruff might as well slide into the rotation when it's Junior's turn. For the life of me, I can not figure out why we don't give Woodruff a real chance to show what he has. He is probably better than what Gio brings to the table, unless we do something magically to turn Gio's poor season around.
  7. He confers with Murphy all the time. But, does Murphy share his true opinions with him, or is he a yes man?
  8. agreed. I do not believe that Granderson, at his age, is worth the potential we traded to get him. I want to be proven wrong in the worst way, I want Granderson to be a difference maker that makes me forget who we traded to get him, but will he even play enough for this to happen? Do it Curtis! DO IT!
  9. So we traded for a guy who isn't right in the heat of a playoff push? ummmm k. That is bothersome.
  10. Every single game is HUGE and IMPORTANT in September. How many times has it been posted that "this is the game we will look back on and be mad about if we end up a game short again this year." I'm tired of dismissing every blown game as it's just another game, 1 of 162. If not now, when is it important to win? I'm sure Counsell is a great guy and a great clubhouse presence, but is he the guy you want making line-ups in the play-offs and world series if we ever manage to make it that far? Is he the guy you want to handle the bullpen in crucial situations during the playoffs and world series? I ask that as a serious question, is he the guy? Also, I posted this today in yesterday's game thread but I doubt anyone is still reading that thread and I seriously want the answer to this question: Do any of the bench coaches have any input into how CC manages the bullpen or any other aspect of the game? Do any of them ever say, "Hey Craig, maybe we should consider getting someone up and loose just in case Soria continues to struggle." "Hey Craig, if Jesus gets on base, maybe we should think about an immediate pinch runner." Or does everyone on the coaching staff just sit there mute so as not to step on the manager's toes? I have often wondered what conversations take place and what conversations don't take place when events transpire...
  11. I'll take that bet!!! The skill set is there, but at this point it's an extreme long shot that he could make it to the majors. I'm not a betting man, but i'd bet on him never getting above AA I understand your point of view, but I say he makes it onto a MLB roster at some point, and could very well be a decent player.

  13. Ok, so a loss is a loss. I hope Junior can hold it together tomorrow. Now is not the time to start a losing streak.
  14. Is this what the sarcasm font was intended for? Jerky, off the cuff frustration? Putting this silliness in blue doesn’t hide the snark. I apologize if you are offended.
  15. This was a tough one for sure. Don't worry though, there are lots of games left, it wasn't a must win, and the manager should hold zero responsibility for end results because the players have to do what they are paid to do.
  16. Sometimes the game moves a little too quickly for our manager. See bullpen management for eamples.
  17. Is Nottingham a base running specialist? Not trying to be a jerk, is he known for good baserunning, with speed?
  18. The teams we play get the same luxury, I don't know that it makes any difference in the win/loss column.
  19. No it hasn't, someone will throw some ridiculous stat at you for saying that, proving you are wrong, even though we all know that you are correct.
