  1. I don't know that I could have been any more clear on what I thought of the team. I said: "This is probably not a team that is built to win NOW, however, with a good draft, it could compete soon. Might be a "project" team." Your comments were still inappropriate, and I have no idea where your hostility comes from.
  2. Take that comment for what it is... If you understand how fantasy baseball works, then why enter the thread and post nonsense? Filling leagues is sometimes difficult, especially an established keeper league. Your negative comments were completely inappropriate, which you should know if you have ever tried to fill a league. Puke! Seriously?
  3. Team is taken, actually had 2 people who wanted it... Some people do like to work for their success after all.
  4. Thanks. Geez. The reason people like to play keeper leagues is so they can enjoy the fruits of their labor by keeping players that they built their teams around. If I spend a few years building a team up, I certainly don't want to re-draft at any time. Keeper leagues are in it for the long haul, not to please those with no attention span, or that mess up their rosters. The league is strong throughout except for that one team, and that owner is finally gone. The team above was owned by a bad owner for the past few years. He was bad at drafting, bad at evaluating talent, and has routinely finished at the bottom. I was actually relieved that he was leaving so I can try to get someone who might enjoy the challenge to build that team, practically from scratch. There may only be 4 players worth keeping, but building a pitching staff around Nola and Urina is a pretty good start. I did mention that it would be a "project" team, and whether you realize it or not, there are people out there who play fantasy sports that like the challenge of building a team, and enjoying the success down the road. I've done it before, and it is satisfying for the fantasy enthusiast. By the way, the league has been running since 2008, has had almost no turn-over, and is a lot of fun. This isn't a fly by night league where people show up to draft, don't like their draft, and leave. I have had to replace probably 2 or 3 teams in that span, which is pretty damn good.
  5. I'm looking for an active owner for a keeper team on YAHOO. 12 teams, keep 7, fantasy point scoring. FREE, no fees of any kind, we play for bragging rights only! League is very active. Straight fantasy points, not head 2 head, not rotisserie, just most points wins the league. The players to choose from are as follows: Freddie Freeman Donaldson Ryan Braun Cespedes Jean Segura Lamb Nola Urena Knebel Bauer Samarddzija This is probably not a team that is built to win NOW, however, with a good draft, it could compete soon. Might be a "project" team. Let me know if interested! zacharytony@hotmail.com
  6. How so? Players would have a plan ahead of time as to when they would switch with certain players at the plate. I highly doubt this would add even 1 second to the game.
  7. Unless, of course, that 3B coach's name is Ed "windmill" Sedar.
  8. I've played in men's semi professional fastpitch leagues, you haven't tried anything until you face a grown man, 45 feet away throwing 100+ miles per hour. I faced a guy once that was clocked at 105, and went one for 3 against him. (Don't worry, the hit was pure luck, I decided to swing, swung, and blooped a single over the 2B head) I felt like the king of the world standing on 1B that night. lol Basically, you have to decide during the wind up if you are going to swing or not. You pretty much have no time to make that decision once the pitch is on it's way. It's a RUSH!
  9. Spectrum has DVR, and it's great!
  10. One entire game on ESPN? I hate ESPN...
  11. Maybe I should throw my situation out there in a different way. I get to keep 6 of these 7 players. I know keeping 6 starting pitchers is a bit redundant, but I have no offensive keepers to speak of, so I play on my strengths. I have won this league the last 4 seasons based on my pitching. I am always able to draft a solid offense while others are scrambling for pitching. Having 6 starters is never a problem since there is always someone hurt. (Syndergaard and deGrom) Keep in mind, the object of a keeper league is to keep guys that will not only help you in the upcoming season, but future seasons as well. So I will be keeping 6 of these 7 players: 1. Kershaw 2. Scherzer 3. Sale 4. deGrom 5. Syndergaard 6. Severino 7. Bumgarner
  12. Brutal game today. 18 point lead, goes to overtime, and a loss. Disgusting.
  13. Miley has a better chance of making the rotation than Yo. *shudder*
  14. They didn't play hardball with me today..... I didn't threaten to leave or anything. I just asked if there was a way to reduce my bill. Did you keep all your services the same, no changes?
  15. I had 2 $20 increases from June to October. I am paying $40 more than I was last June. I'm going to try again to get my bill reduced, but the last 2 times I have been unsuccessful, and basically got a big FU, we don't care if you leave.
  16. They didn't play hardball with me today..... I didn't threaten to leave or anything. I just asked if there was a way to reduce my bill. Charter, right? I'm talking about Spectrum.
  17. Spectrum plays hard ball... If you call, complain, or make threats to leave, they simply don't care. Their attitude is "pay our price or leave, we don't care."
  18. Please, just stop.
  19. Stop it!
  20. Too high for Dubon. The guy's bat will never play at the MLB level. He will be a career bench/defensive switch type player. Have always felt he was severely over rated on this site.

  22. He was painful to watch last year in Appleton. He has nowhere to go but up.
  23. Which probably actually means he will be traded by Friday!
  24. I should have mentioned, since it was the Cardinals that signed him, you can pretty much count on him turning things around, and being a thorn in our sides until he retires...
  25. I just hope we do not sell low on Santana, even though I trust that Stearns would not do that. Somebody will pay up for his bat at some point, until that time comes, I'm happy to keep him right here in Milwaukee.
