  1. Indifferent to this team? Then why are you here so often? I don't understand that comment.
  2. uh oh... I wouldn't open that can or worms here, but I agree with you! 16-8 record with Vogt starting. Move along. That stat is way to vague. Anyone can cherry pick stats to support their argument. I hope Vogt hits 2 homers tonight though!
  3. Read someplace that Arrieta will be on a pitch count, probably 70 - 80 pitches. If we could only jump on him early, ruin his confidence, and score some runs, it would be fantastic!
  4. uh oh... I wouldn't open that can or worms here, but I agree with you!
  5. High horse? Pretty sure you have ruined your share of threads with petty crap yourself.
  6. The point in your sarcasm doesn't fall on deaf ears, however, excusing a manager who makes questionable decisions on a daily basis, does not take away the fact that he is still making those dumb decisions to the detriment of the team. I get it, we are far better than anyone thought, but that doesn't excuse anyone for hurting our chances. The fact they're 80-70 just might suggest most of the decisions you think are dumb probably are not? Or, using that logic, they could be 85 - 65 if those dumb decisions weren't made...
  7. "keep" saying implies that I have said it more than once... I said it once, and was unaware he was having back issues, I stand corrected.

  9. I agree. The hyperbole is talking like it's a fireable offense and worst blunders in history type thing. Maybe I'm using hyperbole a touch wrong but I think you know what I mean in general, the general over-dramatization and exaggeration to make the point. It seems every day someone basically says something in his lineup is absolutely dumb, so the one today doesn't really stand out. Whatever, it's not a big deal. I said it COULD be one of the worst blunders, not that it is/was...Also, no one said CC should be fired. Seems like maybe you are using hyperbole to prove your point.
  10. Vogt has started 3 of the last 5 games...................in a stretch that has us trying to go to the playoffs. I stand by my original thought process, THAT is stupid!
  11. geez Arcia, you think you can hustle down that line? Do you realize what this game means? UGH!
  12. and THAT is why you don't bench Domingo in a playoff push! Play your best guys, all the time CC! Learn...
  13. I hope you are wrong, but I think you are right... Vogt could go down in team history as a starting line-up blunder, close, but not quite as bad as Kotsay in CF. CC has to play his best guys from here on out, no exceptions. Winning is crucial. If he can't figure that out, I can't stand behind him as our manager.
  14. This is the kind of decision that makes me seriously wonder if CC is the guy to lead this team back into the playoffs, or beyond. It's just plain dumb, does he not see what we see? Does he cringe with every pitch with a guy on 1B? If not, why doesn't he?
  15. so, could Pina have done that? weak grounder to 2B. This really burns me...
  16. 100% agreed! This is a playoff push CC! Every game, every inning, ever runner on 1B matters, life or death... Stupid move playing a no defense catcher based on which side of the plate he hits from.
  17. I like this line-up, it is probably the best one we can throw out there EXCEPT for Vogt. His arm is just not acceptable in a playoff run...
  18. Man, that arm is just pathetic... I wouldn't play him behind the plate, everything just means so much right now, and giving up a double for every single is just not going to cut it. I wonder if taking 3rd will be in the heads of the Pirate base runners too? Why not?
  19. I do not like seeing Vogt and his noodle arm behind the plate. Use him to pinch hit in a HR situation, but man, I cringe with him catching when a runner is on base.
  20. He really hasn't been injured all too often when you think about it. Yeah, he missed a bit this season and in 2013 but every other season he has played 135 games or more. He has been banged up but still has managed to play quite a bit over his career. missing close to 30 games a year on average is a lot of lost time for a guy who is our STAR player and basically our franchise player.
  21. "hammered" into center field! Really BA? I like the guy, but he struggles with how deep balls are hit on a regular basis...
  22. HA! Boy that was a stupid move by Diaz...
  23. How much say does Counsell have in lineup decisions? Are you saying he doesn't decide his starting line-up? Seriously, your comment leads me to believe you know something I don't... Does he take input on his starting line-up from Attanasio, Stearns?
