So we will have, on the average, 19 million tied up between Gomez and Lohse, per season? 1/5 of our payroll for 2 guys like this? This saddens me. I am losing faith in Melvin by the minute. Add that to the fact that our manager is a doofus, and I just don't see our future as anything other than average. I will admit though, I love watching Gomez play. He can be maddening at times, but he is just so likeable, he gets passes from me. I am hoping that Lohse is worth every penny we paid him, I truly am, it is just hard for me to get excited about him after getting burned so often in the past by similar guys. I'm a bit gunshy. Please, baseball gods, prove me wrong.......please!!!

Neither of these guys are way better than Lohse. Sanchez is a step above him and Jackson probably a step behind him. Both are younger and that is the really important part of what you said. If Lohse were 29 I'd be loving this deal, the key issue with the deal is he is 34. Except, if he was 29, according to his numbers, he would have been a sucky pitcher, and we wouldn't be giving him this contract. I just hate that 3rd year and the draft choice... Those are the issues I can't get past. Adam and brewcrewdue80, thanks for bumming me out even more with your takes. Sadly, I agree with both of you.

You can bet there are far more than 2000 of these MADE... They maybe gave out 2000, but there are surely a lot more stuffed away someplace for other events etc...

THAT is bothersome. Wow... I was really hoping this would not happen, but knew it would. Just KNEW it. I am on record as hating this move with all of my brewer fan heart. I will not root against him though, he is now a brewer, and as long as he wears our uniform, I will be pulling for him. This makes me sick to my stomach. That 33 million should have been used for something other than what we got, and this is hard to cope with as a fan.

Khris Davis and the potential he has...but where?

He should have been groomed for 1B at the start of spring training when they knew Hart wasn't going to be around. He has hit at every level, and well. Why not have he and Morris for possibilities at 1B, and pick whichever one was having the better spring? Instead, we are gonna roll with Gonzalez... Yuk. I just can't believe it. -

...and with that, Davis just hit another bomb vs the Cubbies. I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope we don't trade him for a player we have on the roster for 3 months. This kid needs to find a spot on our roster and HIT! -
...because that is where Gonzalez is going to play. Once RR has it in his head, it is a done deal.

Would we trade Khris Davis for a Mark Rogers type just because Davis is currently blocked and we might not contend? If they wanted to trade Blanks, I don't think a player like Rogers even comes close to getting it done.

I would NOT trade Khris Davis for Porcello. Davis could be a GREAT hitter for this franchise, just a matter of finding a spot for him. Locking up Gomez the next 3 or 4 years really makes that a tough task though. -
I think that management think we are set with Gonzalez at 1B until the return of Hart. It saddens and sickens me that this is the case, but it just seems to be true. I would be shocked if we add a 1B to our roster at this point, but we sure need to do so!

I have a decent little Canon camera, but the flash no longer works... Is this something that should be taken in for repair? If so, is it worth the repair costs which I am assuming will get pretty expensive. Thanks.

Oh my, yes, I had it recorded and finally watched it last night. Good catch. My family watches every Sunday night too. We look forward to it, and it is great for conversation. Gary Bussey is such a nutjob, but I tend to feel sorry for him when they start ganging up on him. He would be a total distraction to work with, that is obvious, but then get rid of him, stop bumming the dude out... Baldwin is an idiot.

For whatever reason, our management can't get past starting an old, just off of major surgery SS at 1B. It's asinine really when you think about it. It infuriates me to no end that this is what we are going to go into the season with. Might as well bury Green, this pretty much says we think you suck and you have no possible future with this team.
