  1. Another movie I went to at the value cinema, paid $1.75 for this one a couple weeks ago. lol Anyway, I also thought this movie was really interesting. Was some of the plotline flawed? Yes, but it was still a good summer movie. 3 of 5 stars for me. Saw Dark Shadows the next day and was not impressed. I thought it would be much more of a comedy than it was. Just didn't leave me feeling like I went to a movie and enjoyed the experience. 1.5 stars and that is probably generous.
  2. Went to this movie over the weekend at the value cinema here in Appleton. Was absolutely shocked I enjoyed the movie immensely! Great storyline, great acting, just a great popcorn flick! Happy I spent the $6 it cost to take my teenage daughter!
  3. Imagine the puny Garcia at SS and the puny Scooter Gennett at 2B in a couple years...lol Nicknames would surely follow...
  4. Ryan Braun is out of Monday's lineup against the Astros due to blisters on his hand. It doesn't sound like a big deal, so look for him to return Tuesday. Nyjer Morgan is starting in his place Monday night. Source: Tom Haudricourt on Twitter
  5. Better than Wolf, ok, better than the rest, I think not... (Assuming you are talking about our starters)
  6. Does he have a no-trade clause? If so, odds are Milwaukee is on it, so this entire discussion could be rather pointless.
  7. Boras is a sleezebag. If Gomez plays well from here on out, he will have Gomez believing he is a superstar stud, and will make it really hard for us to resign him with the amount of money Boras will be asking. If he sucks from here on out, no one will want him, and we can probably get him at decent value, but do we want to go down his road if he sucks? It is a problem really no matter how you look at it.
  8. I think we have what it would take to get Lee, but I don't think we are or should be willing to give them what it would take. I want no part of a deal involving Lee unless the deal was too good to pass up. I read someplace that the Rangers are possibly in on Lee, and Olt was mentioned in the same article. Would it be something if the Rangers are willing to move him for Lee but not Greinke? EDIT: This is what I read: Buster Olney of ESPN reports that Phillies left-hander Cliff Lee is "in play in trade talks." Olney calls the Rangers "the most logical landing spot" and says third base prospect Mike Olt could serve as a possible centerpiece. CBS Sports' Jon Heyman heard Friday that Lee was unlikely to be dealt at this year's July 31 deadline, but the Phillies just got swept by the Braves and may be more willing to sell off some pieces than they once were. Hunter Pence, Shane Victorino and Juan Pierre are also reportedly being shopped.
  9. ...and yet again. Narveson will not be competing for a starting rotation spot next year folks... Long relief will be the only way he helps us, and even that possibility is remote given his age and the severity of his injuries/surgery.
  10. Here we go again...
  11. Actually, I have heard that in person, he can be a jerk. Heard a story about his behavior at a signing, and to be honest, it kind of ruined my impression of him. Anyway, can we end this thread now, huh? Please, just end it...
  12. All I know, is lately, Gomez has looked like a good ball player, who should be playing every day in a season that is lost. 4 homers in a week, to me at least, deserves more playing time. Forget Plush, he does not fit into our plans for the future, but letting Gomez play it out might prove he DOES fit into our future plans.
  13. I was there, and words can not describe my feelings when seeing this familiar show live and in person. There is nothing that can be said that hasn't been said 1000 times before.
  14. Not so fast guys, I just looked my 4 over closely, and one of mine is missing the red stripes on the socks. The horizontal stripe. The other 3 have the red stripes. I have solved the mystery... The alternate Bob Uecker bobble has no red horizontal stripes on the socks!!!!!! It can be yours for $1000!!! -------------------------- ---------------------------- Ok, I am kidding about the $1000, and the alternate being the one without the red stripes, but I am being truthful in the fact that I do have one missing the red stripes on the socks... More than likely just a mistake by the guy in the factory making 10 cents an hour to paint these silly american toys...
  15. Finished at $187.50 plus $14 shipping. $201.50
  16. So, can we put this to bed??? No alternates? If so, can anyone confirm they got one? No one around me got anytjhing out of the ordinary, nor did I...
  17. Thanks man... Appreciate it!
  18. Heading down to the game tomorrow from Appleton. Will be coming in on hwy 41. Any issues I need to be aware of? Thanks ahead of time!
  19. bullpen session did not go well...
  20. last one sold for $162.50 plus shipping, the current one is already at $170+. Yup, it's official, this bobble has entered holy grail territory. Still a notch below Attanasio, Tracksuit Hall and ICEMAN, but knocking on the door...
  21. Play him every day for the rest of this season in CF to see what he can do as a true everyday player. Nothing to lose as I think Morgan is gone. If he puts up decent numbers from here on out, you can consider having him back, if he comes back down to earth (which is what I'm expecting, yet hoping against) you let him go. 3years at 11 million is a bit much though, 3 years 7-9 million, and I'm a possible buyer.
  22. I didn't even end up projecting him into my 5 man rotation next year. It's unlikely he returns to start next year, but throwing his name in a big list of "possibilities at the back end of the rotation" is not "including him in our rotation plans" or unreasonable. I disagree. He will not be an option, especially since we have so many others... I don't see him as a possibility, even in the back end of our rotation. If I am wrong, feel free to rub it in next season, but to even include him in any list of possible rotation guys is just a waste of time.
  23. 115 ERA+ ? Again, we need him to make a second trip around the league to see what he has. I love the guy, I'm just not ready to dub him an ace, and neither should anyone else just yet. Enjoy it while it lasts, and hopefully we can enjoy if gor years to come.
  24. If he keeps pitching like this, we won't be able to afford him.
  25. I am thinking #3 to be honest, #1 = Ace, #2 is close to an ACE! Once he makes it around the league a couple of times, then we will know what we have in him, but to expect #1 or #2 numbers from him is a bit more than cautiosly optimistic.
