  2. We really need a fantasy baseball forum...That would be pretty sweet!
  3. I already have Gallardo and Greinke on my radar for my 2nd and or 3rd picks. I doubt I would take both, but it will surely tempt the heck out of me... Kemp is still there, and we are on pick #11. It seems that there is a lot of OF talent this year, which is making people go elsewhere for their picks. Someone is going to get great value soon if Kemp, CarGo and Ellsbury are still on the board much longer. I'm not buying into the Granderson hype myself.
  4. I don't like tying up big $ in a closer, especially a closer we have in control for the next 4-5 years. If he is stil performing in 3 or 4 years, open up talks then... Too much risk to tie up cash in a closer.
  5. Your typical lead-off is a high on base % guy, with speed, who can set the table for the boomers... On our roster, Rickie is more of a boomer, that is all I am saying. I didn't say I wanted a worse hitter to lead-off.
  6. I'm not a fan of Wolf as our #3. Also disappointed we don't have a true leadoff type player on our roster.
  7. Went with Cabrera... Braun went #4 It went: Cabrera Pujols Kershaw Braun Tulo Halladay Votto Verlander That is as far as we are in the SLOW live draft format. This is the first time in years I did not go with a SP with my first pick. It killed me to leave Halladay, Kershaw and Verlander on the board.
  8. http://www.rotoworld.com/playernews/mlb/baseball?r=1 Though Brewers manager Ron Roenicke has yet to make an official announcement, Yovani Gallardo appears to be lined up to make his third straight Opening Day start. Gallardo looks to be aligned for the April 6 game against the Cardinals and will be followed by Zack Greinke, Randy Wolf, Shaun Marcum and Chris Narveson. Greinke would have been a fine option to get the ball on Opening Day, as well, but Gallardo is the longer tenured Brewer and certainly didn't do anything last year to lose the spot, posting a 3.52 ERA while reaching 200 strikeouts for the third straight year. and Brewers manager Ron Roenicke indicated Saturday that he's likely to bat Rickie Weeks leadoff and Corey Hart fifth this season. It's the spots they were in for Saturday's intrasquad game. "I think I'll probably stay with this for a while to see that it's where we should be with it," Roenicke said. "It's not that I need to see how it works, because I saw it work last year. But I had a conversation with both Corey and Rickie, and I think these are the spots they want to be in, also." Weeks will score more runs in the No. 1 spot, but he hasn't been much of a basestealer the last two years, and that probably won't change since he's coming back from a significant ankle injury.
  9. Thanks for the input guys. I HATE the first pick in the draft, especially when it is 14 teams. By the time you make your next pick, a lot of talent is off the board, and you really have to hit that #2 and #3 pick as well... I really like picking in the middle rounds best. I considered Tulo, but his injury history scares me. I decided to go with Cabrera, but only because he will have 1b/3b eligibility. If he was strictly a 1B, the obvious choice, for me would have been Pujols.
  10. I am not sure that Braun should be a number 1 pick. I know that since I am a Brewers fan, I view him as worthy, but if I was not a Brewers fan, I doubt I would be considering him at that spot. However, taking a look at last years fantasy numbers, he is more than worthy for that spot. In my league last year, Miggy had 581 points and a 3.61 ppg average. (158 games) Braun had 589 points, and a 3.93 ppg average. (150 games) Pujols had 548 points, and a 3.73 ppg average. (147 games) Those are elite numbers for a 3B once Cabrera gets the 3B eligibility, that's for sure. Passing up Braun as a Brewer fan is difficult. Pujols is a MONSTER year in and year out. Damn, this is tough...
  11. I have a draft that starts tomorrow morning and I just can't decide who to pick with the #1 pick. I have it narrowed down to 3 guys. Miguel Cabrera Albert Pujols Ryan Braun Of course, there are other players that could be considered, but these are the 3 have chosen to decide on. I'm normally a pitching guy, but this time, I'm going with a position player. It's a 14 team league, so by the time it swings back to me at pick #27 and 28, the studs will be long gone. I have one shot, so I don't want to mess it up. It's a points league, not a roto league. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  12. Well, it shouldn't be that tough to just delete threads like this one as soon as they start....right?
  13. That is exactly what I thought too... I don't like our retros and alternates, but at least if you go to the game, you get a bobble, end of story.
  14. The fact that there will be a bobblehead made of him where he isn't wearing a Brewer uniform.
  15. the "new" forum does not have the 30 day waiting period...
  16. I don't understand all the hubub... 2 guys posing for a picture? There has to be something I am missing here...
  17. Tigers are giving it out 08/21/12. Bums me out to see this. 10,000 given out.
  18. Facebook in general bugs the heck out of me.
  19. I'm not so sure a real brewer fan would even want to wear a shirt proclaiming he "beat" drug testing... Almost makes him sound guilty, but got off the hook. Who exactly does this shirt cater to?
  20. I have seen pretty much everyone I ever wanted to see to be honest. Would love to see KISS again, but only the original 4 members, no fill ins.
  21. I have them hung on the wall, it's not an issue what-so-ever. Make sure they are secured into the wall (studs) and you will have no problems. I have 2 hung on the wall in my basement (3 when I hang the mini display) and my son has 2 hung in his room. They are made to hang on the wall, that is the purpose.
  22. If anyone is interested in the displays I have in my photos (the wooden shelf ones with the plexi fronts), the guy who does them is on ebay. He does cheap custom work as well, for example, the mini case I posted above tonight cost me $65 shipped. I gave him the dimensions I wanted last Friday, and got the case in the mail on Tuesday, that is fast!!! The quality is excellent, very solid, no cheap wood, the real stuff throughout! I asked him if I could post his information and he said sure! If you contact him, please tell him that you heard about him through me. He will know me as turborickey or Tony. ebay name: bruce1t email: BRUCE1T@aol.com I'm sure he would be thrilled to get the kind of business a board like this could possibly throw at him. He is easy to work with and will do anything you need. He sells a pretty high volume of display cases on ebay, for anything you could possibly collect. If you look him up there, you can see what he does. As I said above, he will also do custom stuff, all he needs are the details and he takes off!!!!
  23. sweet setup hofcs!
  24. That Disco CC Sabathia is a neat little bobble. I picked one up a while back, along with the 80's Shin Soo Choo on ebay... CC because of his obvious ties with the Brewers, and Choo because of his ties with the Timber Rattlers.
  25. Ok, I got my custom built MINI bobble display case today! It isn't on the wall yet, but I couldn't help myself from putting the bobbles in it to see what it would look like. Every sga mini the brewers have ever given away is pictured except for the mini italian sausage. I don't have it yet. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12-2.jpg
