  1. you can pick them up on craigslist for dirt cheap, however, some of them probably won't work...
  2. Agreed, Priest is in my top 2 bands of all time! Maiden would crack my top 10 possibly, but Judas Priest, to me, is on a different level!
  3. When has that stopped them? I'm surprised there hasn't been a Coors Light 6 pack of questions done every hour about the latest Braun situation. Or a nightly 2 hour special called "The Decision" where Skip Bayless and Steven A. Smith yell at each other about the latest non-news. If it were a Red Sox or Yankee player, that would be happening.
  4. Yeah, with so many [expletive deleted] fans at Miller Park that day, the bobbles will go to waste, or end up on ebay. edit: language --1992
  5. He did? Do you have a link to that information? I myself would have been fine with Renteria off the bench..
  6. Then my question to you would be: Name one team that our bench is obviously better than theirs? I think we fall in the lower half of the league, not the worst, but I highly doubt with little to no power or pinch hitting ability, that we would fit into the upper half.
  7. I know I am dreaming, but I would love a shot at Oswalt for our #4 spot in the rotation!
  8. Heard this morning that they were going to tour with American Idol singer Adam Lambert as their new lead singer. I was angry with them as it was when they toured with Paul Rodgers as their lead singer, now this? Do they really need the money that bad to ruin their image even more with this freak (Adam Lambert) on vocals? It's a shame really.
  9. ...and in that sense, that statement is correct.
  10. It always seems to me, that in trying to brush off the loss of Prince, we sometimes forget how much that man meant to our line-up. It is ok to be in denial, that probably allows some of us to stay depression free, but anyone who can possibly say that losing Prince and replacing him with what we have done this off season is going to be a push, is off base in my opinion. I'd say that around the middle of April, we will all know just how much he meant to this team.
  11. Are people allergic to brats? I guess I never thought that there are people out there with such severe peanut allegies that they can't attend a baseball game, sucks to be them. The Timber Rattlers started doing this a couple years ago, that was the first time I ever really thought about it. They also have a game where fans can bring their freaking dogs to the game. That to me is one of the stupidest ideas ever. Bringing dogs to games? Why, so they can watch a baseball game? What about the fans who are allergic to dogs? I don't have any issues with the peanut deal, at least it allows those with peanut allergies to come out to the ballpark.
  12. I just keep hoping he gets signed by someone other than the Brewers. The longer he is out there, the more tempting it may be for him to take less money, and the more tempting it may be for us to sign him, taking away valuable playing time from Gamel.
  13. I'm surprised that people think Iron Maiden is not a headliner... They have a devoted following, and not only us 40 something guys. There are teenagers who get into their music. They are tried and true, and are BIG all over the world! If Maiden was playing summerfest as a sidestage act, that would shock the heck out of me!
  14. Just found this little nugget. Didn't see this anywhere here so I thought I'd post it. CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman confirms Edgar Renteria intends to return for his 17th major league season.Renteria was active for just 96 games this past season and will likely settle for a non-guaranteed contract as a backup infielder. According to Heyman, the Astros, Cubs and Brewers are among the teams that could be interested. Feb 11 - 12:55 PMSource: Jon Heyman on Twitter

  17. Got this idea from a bobblehead website. Thought it would be cool to post photos of our bobble collections. I'll start! Every full sized SGA the Brewers have ever given out is pictured below, except the 2009 Talking Braun, which I do not have) I also have all 38 sga minis, but don't have the space to display them yet. Also, only missing the Italian Sausage mini sga. There are 4 in the set, and they are tough to get. I keep hoping they do a chorizo to complete the set, but with every passing year, the odds of that seem slimmer. Also not pictured are the stupid, dumb, ridiculous, beer vendor bobbles. Those are in a tote, and will never see the light of day in my displayed collection. Buckethead brigade bobble is also not displayed, no good reason, just never put it out there. Just realized that the Fang Nappa Race Car is not pictured either, better get that one out of storage to add to the Fang section... Was always a big Rickey Henderson fan, hence the Henderson collection. Also a BIG Buccaneer fan as you can tell from my super bowl bobbles. Been a fan since their inception, so no fair weather nonsense on my end. (Not that there has been much fair weather as a Buc fan lately...) I hope this inspires others to share their collections as well! http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12011.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12010.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12012.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12007.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12008.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n136/turborickey/BOBBLECOLLECTION2-12009.jpg
  18. Yeah, the values have come down, but I don't view that as a bad thing. I don't collect them for the value, I just like the stupid things. If that allows me to get them cheaper, so be it!
  19. But if you are a collector, would you want a bobble that has been altered or "sawn apart?" I'm thinking of just looking for one that doesn't work since at some point, none of them will work when the batteries crap out. As far as fixing them, there is not way to get into the battery compartment unless you cut it open. I would think that 10 years from now, when none of them work, one that is mint and unaltered will be more valuable than one that has been ripped open. Just thoughts, I really have no idea... The one on ebay won't get what the seller wants, and if it does, more power to him... I'll keep looking, just can't justify spending that much an a bobble that won't work down the line. Other than the talking, the only difference is a thicker base. Just don't feel the NEED to have this one unless I can get it at a good price or find a trading partner that isn't asking for the moon for one.
  20. I know these are hard to come by, especially one that works, but how much do they usually sell for? There is one on ebay right now with no bids at $149.99, and $199.99 on buy it now. That is WAY out of my price range, and I highly doubt it sells for that price. The ones that do work, at some point won't, so 10 years from now, it won't matter. I know that some value them a lot more when they work, but there is no way to change the battery, so when it goes, it's done. That being said, is it worth paying the extra for one that works when at some point it won't? It is the only brewer full size sga that I don't have, and until recently, I just never felt that I needed it. Still don't have the NEED, but it would be nice to complete the collection. Anyone have any viewpoints or opinions on this bobble?
  21. This past weekend, I watched a few movies. I didn't rent them, I own them. I have a problem in that I feel the need to own any movie I watch. If I don't like it, it gets sold. I have an immense dvd library in the process, but it is nice to know that when I feel the urge to plug in my favorite movie of all time, The WARRIORS, it is at my finger tips, as well as the other 1000 dvds I own. Anyway, I watched Semi Tough with Burt Reynolds. Saw this back in the 70's when it came out as a teen and thought it was great! Watching it now in my 40's, not so much. It was corny and boring. It goes directly to my sell pile after I watch the other movie on the disc, GATOR, also with Burt Reynolds. (Unless GATOR is great, but I have my doubts) Aslo watched The Village. A lot of people I talked to hated that flick, but I found it engrossing as heck. Loved it in fact. The actress who played the blind girl was awesome. Watched Cobb with Tommy Lee Jones. Another movie that I liked the first time I saw it in theaters, but this time around I wasn't too impressed. If that movie has an ounce of truth to it, Ty Cobb was a very bad person.
  22. ok, well the stitch n pitch part of this thread is taken care of, thanks BSC! Now back to the mini Italian....ANYONE?
