  1. Probably wanted to wait as long as they could to avoid the backlash it is surely going to bring.
  2. Figured it needed a thread since there wasn't one...
  3. I had no idea they would make these changes. I just assumed they would move the team and keep the name. This kind of saddens me. https://www.milb.com/carolina-mudcats/news/wilson-minor-league-baseball-to-unveil-team-name-and-branding-at-public-celebration-on-friday-november-22
  4. More info. needed...
  5. This is the first I have heard of Pratt moving to 3B. Conjecture?
  6. Elevation Really liked this one, but I'm a huge fan of post-apocalypse movies. Has some original twists and turns, and since it's advertised, it isn't a spoiler, the people are safe as long as they stay above 8000 feet elevation. Glad I took a chance on this one!
  7. yup
  8. My wife and I went to The Best Christmas Pageant Ever today. Nice little feel good flick with a bit of A Christmas Story Vibe to it.
  9. The Chiba Lotte Marines announced that they will post Roki Sasaki, making him available to MLB teams. The actual timing of the move will likely be delayed, allowing Sasaki to be signed during the 2025 international period after Jan. 15. After all, the vast majority of those limited 2024 dollars have already been spent. Because he’s just 23 and MLB doesn’t want teams paying youngsters what they’re worth, Sasaki will have to sign a minor league deal, probably capped out at $6 million or so, instead of the $200 million or even $300 million he’d surely command as an actual free agent. The hard-throwing righty went 30-15 with a 2.02 ERA and a 524/91 K/BB over 414 2/3 innings in his four seasons with the Marines. That he’s had some injury issues is a concern, and his stuff last season wasn’t as good as it was previously. Still, he’s one of the world’s most talented pitchers. 10. Latest DVD Purge: Boyz N the Hood: Just a great all around movie. Such a 90's feel, and Ice Cube is great in this one. Keeper! Breakfast Club: One of my favorite all time movies and still holds up. Just a great movie, and for anyone that was in high school in the 80's, that is the bonus plan! TOTAL Keeper! I really thought I'd be dumping more movies, but seem to be keeping the majority.
  11. Not a chance in hell we trade Williams at the deadline if we are in the playoff chase. If we don't trade him in this off-season, we won't be trading him at all.................................................imo.
  12. Not a chance he gets 20-30 starts at 3B. I think that ship has sailed.
  13. At this point, I think 3B is out of the question. If they saw him as a future 3B, I'd think they'd be using the major majority of his playing time at the position.
  14. HERE I may be in the minority, but this movie was just ok. My wife and I went, and I really thought this was right up her alley, but she said the same thing, it was ok.
  15. lol Yeah, I was really insistent, man, I was all in, over the top insistent. Flat out star struck with the idea... 🤩
  16. They aren't going to start him in the opening day rotation if he isn't ready. THAT'S a LOCK! Many questions will need to be answered, which is why is far from a lock for the opening day rotation, whether they paid him or not.
  17. Ok, I'll play along. Do you have evidence of my "insistentness?"
  18. I agree, I think we are truly going to see major cash savings, and will probably not be in on anyone in the free agent market. The writing is on the wall, we are going to go young and cheap and hope it works out in 2025.
  19. I would think the opposite actually. Cutting Rea to me means we are keeping Civale. We can't get rid of everyone.
  20. Yeah, I'd say he is pretty far from a lock. He's more of a wish and a hope...
  21. This surprises me to be honest. We'll just have to replace him with another body and hope he does as well as Rea. Kind of a headscratcher since we will definitely need some depth.
  22. Good luck to them both. I liked Sanchez while he was here.
  23. but would they really? I mean, the guy is a shell of himself. I would really be against it to be honest, even if it did bother Cubs fans. lol
