  1. not borderline, just pathetic. in fact, he's pretty much just been awful regardless of whether or not there are runners on base. Only marginally related, in my opinion, the least valuable hit in all of baseball is a Prince Fielder single because it's usually going to take 3 hits or a homerun to score him.
  2. It's frustrating how quickly the Brewers can change from a pleasant way to spend an afternoon to the last thing I want to spend time paying attention to.
  3. Pittsburgh Pirates = Rolling Rock. It'll give you the runs.
  4. Glad I stuck it out. With Braun's awful 9th inning at bat and watching Wolf hit in that situation it was ugly, but it's a win. I guess I should be happy now, right?
  5. I hope they come back and win, but right now I'm really tired of watching this team play so miserably. That swing by Prince might be my breaking point.
  6. If you wonder why Braun's defense is 'hidden' in the outfield, there's your answer.
  7. I'm not one to get all over Macha, but I do wonder why nobody is up. Wouldn't this be a good time to have the bullpen warming in case this is just about to get out of hand?
  8. "That inning was so quick Milledge didn't even realize it was over." -- Pirates announcer. Make it stop!
  9. I can seriously not believe this. Just 10 minutes ago I heard they were up 4-2. It's some sort of cruel joke.
  10. Homer Baily is a better pitcher than me, but I'm very, very bad. Hit him hard Brewers!
  11. All things considered, not such a bad start. Maybe get a lead tonight? That would be fun.
  12. Just wanted to say fantastic post. Also, it's no fun to watch.
  13. Me too. I like Hawk's calls, even "chopper, two hopper." He's good because it sounds natural, not forced. I love his homerun call. Stone is a very good announcer. He'll frequently correctly call pitches before they're thrown. He's very knowledgeable, and I like that.
  14. The Brewers have a tendency to swing for the fences, and there is a notion (I think) that Miller Park is a great place to hit homeruns even though for much of its time it's played neutral to favoring pitchers (I think each of the last 3 seasons it's favored pitching?). Maybe they tell themselves that home is where they'll hit homeruns and they just, on average, have worse at bats at MP and that results in lackluster offense. The cynic in me says that the park has favored pitchers for the last several years because the Brewers' offense plays there!
  15. Bring back Jim Paschke! Darren Sutton was, and is awful. At least he didn't mention his abiding love for Greg Maddux at all over the weekend, I was shocked.
