  1. I love that Vargas giving up the homerun didn't even generate a blip in here. Everybody is already too tired to complain...
  2. In general I agree with this, but I'd like to see Escobar get more time lower in the order before being given those expectation. Unfortunately, the Crew may not have that luxury.
  3. This isn't directed at anyone, but just in general from reading these comments over time, it seems like the Braun honeymoon has ended
  4. It feels like this game should be a lot worse than it actually is. It would be nice to see the Brewers win one they 'should have lost.' Rockies are what, 1 for 10 w/RISP?
  5. I lost Gameday audio, anyone else having problems with it this year? edit: Colorado feed is still working
  6. Did Braun knock that out, off his glove? Is there a rule that says we must give up a run every time we score one?
  7. Escobar is going to be fun to watch. Who said catchers can't run?
  8. I'm trying to stay positive, but this feels like it's going to be a long day.
  9. I still like listening to Uecker. How close was the DP attempt?
  10. Man, I was excited about listening at work today...this isn't making work better!
  11. I'm glad somebody posted this link. When I read it I had all these same thoughts. Why do some teams get the privilege to stay in divisions while others do not? Yes, let's destroy the attraction of division rivalries except for the Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies, Dodgers. Great idea for the game.
  12. The sentiment of this post can be applied to the last few seasons. Also, why is Corey Patterson playing for the Brewers? Does that make any sense to anyone? How can this possibly help the team in the long or short term?
  13. I didn't think it was possible anymore this season, but this series was really disheartening. While I realize it's melodramatic, the thought I keep having is, "it's not going to be another 26 years, is it?"
  14. This is exactly right. Last night I thought ,well, at least we can still watch them beat up a bad team. Then, almost immediately, it was tied. This year has been anything but enjoyable. They did win, so that was nice.
  15. Earlier in this thread I tried to give a reasonable, thoughtful response to this question. Today, I'm not in the mood. Stick a fork in 'em. However, I'm in a good mood because I'm off to Cleveland to see my first MLB game in over a year.
  16. I'm taking this year harder than 2007, and 2007 was rough. This year, it's just that these humiliating blow-outs keep piling up. I'm upset with myself because the writing has been on the wall, I should be over it and back to simply enjoying the game, but I'm not. Also, I'm a fairly committed fan, but I have no problem with the casual fan who comes when they are winning. I, like most people, only have limited money for 'fun,' and watching this team lately hasn't been much fun. I happen to simply enjoy being at a game (any game really), but it's less fun when your team is winning twice a week (in a good week!).
  17. If I did the math right, they've got 51 games to go. With 55 wins, I assume they'll need at least 30 more wins to make the playoffs by winning the division (and that sounds low), and so I have to also assume the Cards and Cubs will play poorly down the stretch (I don't know how reasonable that assumption is). That means they have to go 30-21 the rest of the way, see both the Cards and Cubs slip up quite a bit, and hope the Astros don't get hot. There's a lot in the way, but I guess it's not impossible.
