  1. A couple of years ago when the Brewers were negotiating with someone, or had just extended someone for not a huge amount of money, Hart came out publicly with the "aw shucks" act. I can't remember the exact words, but it was something like "I wish they'd offer me something like that. I've got 3 kids, and am just looking for some security." I'll admit it... I took the bait. I pulled hard for Hart to do well. I based my fan-dom on his words, and his actions have been completely contrary to those words. I am hugely disappointed.
  2. For an extra $200, his salary number would have read the same forwards or backwards.
  3. If Weeks picks up where he left off, I'll be insanely happy.
  4. I've always believed that Ned was the right guy for the job here when he was brought here. I think he helped our young guys develop. I also believe the team got as far as it ever was going to with Ned at the helm. It became time to move on to someone that could take the team to the next level. I'm not sure that Ken Macha is, or is not, that person. Only time will tell. Ned Yost- AAAA Manager?
  5. You are wise beyond your years.
  6. I use Malwarebytes freeware, and have had zero problems. I also really like Avast Antivirus (also freeware) with their "on access" protection. It scans every email, every download, alerts when a webpage tries to install a nasty, etc. Both work wonderfully on XP.
  7. I think each and every one of us should bring/send DatHoser some cheese.
  8. Caned! She must be caned! This cannot go on. She has to be stopped, now!
  9. I have MTD snowblower and yard tractor. Both have served me well for many years. I would not hesitate to buy them again.
  10. Joe, if ya find 'em post up. I want one or 6.
  11. This is wrong. Wrong I say, on many levels. A caning may be in order.
  12. It was called a "Wheel-O." I had one in the late 60's, maybe early 70's. I do not know if mine was the first incarnation or not. Big fun though.
  13. I wonder if these CAFOs are what we saw a few years ago while motorcycling across the Southwest. There would be these huge corrals/pens, with what looked like thousands of cows packed into them; I mean packed in so tightly they could hardly move. They also appeared to be nearly knee deep in mud and/or their own waste. Nothing at all like our local dairy farms. They made me sad.
  14. Yes, Domino's has many rules about buying a franchise, and they differ for "insiders" vs "outsiders." You can find it all with a quick Google search, and it's pretty enilightening. My understanding is that if you can meet the criteria to buy one, you're virtually guranteed to succeed.
  15. With the discussions on tipping the pizza guy in the "What's bugging you" thread, I thought I'd throw this out there. My youngest brother found himself unemployed about 5 years ago, and took a part-time gig delivering pizzas for Domino's. He moved to working inside the store, then became a manager, and just this week, he bought the Domino's location in Muskego. If any of you live that way, please throw the kid some business if you can. He's got everything he owns riding on this. Mods, I hope this is okay. If not, I understand completely. Just trying to help my kid brother out, and keep a few locals employed.
  16. I had exactly what you have, and kept Charter for phone and internet while switching the tv to Dish Network. Ended up saving quite a bit wqith their introductory offer, and the tv is much better. With cable, when they'd pan across a football field, I'd get diagonal lines across all the yardlines. Or during a race, if the camera followed a car or 2 along the straightaway, I'd get diagonal lines in places on the screen. It was awful. With Dish, I don't get those lines, and they have a ton more HD stuff, as well as some hd in true 1080p. The picture I get with Dish looks like the picture the tv got in the store. It's phenomenal. The only downfall is that Dish doesn't carry the MLB Network yet. I probably sound like a commercial for Dish, but I have no affiliation with them whatsoever, other than being an extremely satisfied customer. I had DirecTV in the past also, but not with a good tv set. It may or may not be as good.
  17. No Brewers logos, but fun anyways. All 3 grandchildren came over and we did the pumpkins together. We helped a little, but they did most of the work themselves. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/posting/Pumpkins2009001.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/posting/Pumpkins2009002.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/posting/Pumpkins2009004.jpg
  18. I still like to read this thread every once and a while.
  19. Hopefully this thread will get back untracked soon.
  20. Well, this has certainly become a tough road to hoe.
  21. Moreso bugs me to no end. There is no such word. More so is the proper spelling. No offense meant to anyone who may have used it on here. It's one of the most common errors in the English language.
  22. I wonder if the quick turnover of pitching coaches may have hurt Manny. I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that when Castro took over from Maddux there was a "whole new philosophy" regarding the staff and pitching in general. Did the same thing happen when Castro got the axe? I can see where that could have quite an effect on a young pitcher. He's told to do things a certain way for quite a while, then the second guy says "no that's wrong, do it my way," and then the third guy either wants him to go back to the first way or might even have a whole 'nother set of ideas of his own. It's got to be somewhat frustrating, no?
  23. He was also great in the movie Long Gone, which was about a fictional minor league baseball team. Great fun to watch, but not yet available on dvd last time I checked.
  24. If it wasn't tipped, you can plug it right in.
