  1. I wish I had never read this thread. I really wish I had never responded to it. I really really wish it would get locked as it is becoming ugly.
  2. I would very much like to see Prince Fielder adopt a full-bore Mr. T mohawk, complete with the appropriate facial hair. We could then "Pity the fool that comes high n' tight on Mr. P!" My American Bulldog's name is Clubber Lang (after the character played by Mr. T in Rocky III). "Baddest man on the planet... FOOL!" http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/posting/dogpark011.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y174/DanAuctions4u/posting/dogpark004.jpg
  3. Ram is a commodity, just like hog futures. The price swings wildly, and sometimes often. I've seen 1 gig sticks of PC3200 DDR go from 40 bucks apiece to over 150 and back again, all in the span of a year. Your best bet is to keep an eye on it on Crucial or Newegg, and when the price drops to your comfort level, grab it.
  4. Don't sleep on Prince. He might be squishy, but that guy seems to have a lot of anger in his soul, and he'll throw his weight around. I would not want to be the guy to tick him off.Prince Fielder is most definitely not "squishy." He may have a few extra pounds around his middle, but he's a monster.
  5. I'm not sure exactly how I feel about this. Coghlan stands to make millions, even if his career is short and unspectacular. It's hard for me to generate a lotta pity for the guy. On the other hand, what would I want? I dunno. The ball wouldn't mean very much to me. Truthfully, knowing me, I'd just give it to him, and mention that I would like to have some small memento of the occasion. A pic, ball, bat, jersey; whatever he felt appropriate. If it were from a Brewer, I'd hold 'em up for the chance for my wife to meet Bernie. She has a bit of a crush....
  6. Thanks. I just spit coffee out my nose.
  7. Iirc, a portion of the proceeds goes to The Macc Fund, or another local charity. If everything else is equal (taste, price, etc.) that might be reason enough to choose Robinade over other brands.

  9. I always ask the Illinesians "If you hate it so bad, how come every one of you that manages to put a few nickels together moves up here?"
  10. Don't forget, this is also the home of Harley-Davidson. Many of the "biker" movies from the 60's & 70's are perfect for the venue. And many of them are so bad, that they're good.
  11. But is that the longest streak ever, or have there been even longer streaks further back?
  12. The Brewers switching to the NL had a very large part in increasing my awareness/love for the team. I was always a huge Packers fan, and really never cared that much for baseball (Please don't crucify me. I'm old and fragile). I'm still a Packers fan, but the Brewers now come first for me. With free agency wrecking the NFL, baseball became more appealing to me as I could kinda keep a watch on the minors and see players developing. When we made the switch to the NL, I was hooked. I absolutely love the strategy of it all. The construction and use of the bullpen is so much more important in the NL, with so many long-term implications, that every pinch-hit or double switch can make a big difference down the road (good or bad). Surely, I can't be the only one draw in by the switch to the NL. There must be others.
  13. One also has to wonder if some small part of CC wishes he had accepted the Brewers' offer and stayed here. I know there's no way a guy can turn down an additional 60 million dollars, but he just owned this ballpark. Could that dominance have possibly continued? Does he ever wonder about it, even just a little bit?
  14. The other players popping the champagne corks when he was traded would seem to say the most. Wow.
  15. The Elegant Farmer, on Hwy ES between Mukwonago & East Troy also has their own brats in all kinds of flavors. They're a little pricey, but the beer n' onion are really good. You can buy 'em already made and eat 'em there, or buy by the pound and bring home. I've never brought any home, but it's probably my favorite brat made by someone else for a quick lunch. The place is kinda neat in general, with lots of specialty items. You can also ride the old electric trolley between there and East Troy. A great outing with the kids or grandkids. We like to start in East Troy, ride the trolley to The Elegant Farmer and have lunch and look around, then ride the trolley back to East Troy. The grandkids really love it.
  16. That was excellent. Ya just gotta love this guy.
  17. It'd also be funny if one of the guys were to covertly tape a bullseye to Braun's back right before he leaves the dugout for an at-bat. I'm sure MLB wouldn't see the humor in it, though.
  18. I know it's quite possibly the height of nerd-dom, but I can't help myself. Anytime there's a shot of the crowd, I find myself scanning for familiar faces. In the early innings last night, there was a pop foul to the third base side. Sitting real close to the guy that caught the ball was "Jake" from the Brewers ticket office. Those of us that attended the last BF.Net gathering at Kelly's Bleachers met Jake. Really nice guy. Anybody else notice? Edit: D'oh! I meant to put this in "Off Topic."
  19. By all means, go for it. If I didn't intend for others to enjoy it, I wouldn't have posted it. Enjoy!
  20. Thanks guys. It's just somethin' I came up with a few years ago. And no, I don't cater, but it doesn't take much to get me to fire up the grill. Hmmmm, maybe a BF.Net summer cookout.
  21. I do mine somewhat similar to bikeage, but with an added little twist that has become hugely popular with family & friends. It's a bit more work, but worth it. I make 2 beer baths. The first is just beer, large chunks of onion, and butter. This is for when the brats come off the grill. The second is beer with onion, garlic, green pepper (and sometimes red and yellow peppers), diced as finely as I possibly can. This is where I pre-boil the brats for a bit. I leave this boiling madly while the brats are on the grill. When it's boiled down to no liquid left, and everything is brown and carmelized, I strain it through a wire strainer. This becomes relish for use on the finished brats. It is fantastic! The only thing you need to watch, is to not use too much green pepper or it will overpower everything else. There's no such thing as too much onion or too much garlic though. Yummy!
  22. With all of my normal irrationality and optimism, I'll say 20-8. I really like the way these guys are playing right now.

  24. I think it's a safe bet that at least some players read these forums. I can't imagine any of the Pirates' players being any too thrilled about being associated with that bunch. What an embarassment.
