  1. Why any team intentionally walks Kotsay is beyond me, even to pitch to Yuni.
  2. Anyone else really creeped out by the guy in the NAPA Know-How commercials?
  3. Hey, not sure if I should put this here or in Brewerfan.net softball, but I am a Brewers fan here in DC and Spring Training has me geared up to play some softball/baseball this summer. Just wondering if anyone else on here is from DC and knows of a good league/is on a team this spring? Thanks!
  4. Looks like Josh Brolin from "No Country For Old Men"
  5. I know it's not a choice but I vote for Van Halen Panama
  6. Didn't Zaun sign with another team?
  7. I keep a rotation of the B.S. Report, The Adam Carolla Show & The Film Vault. Tried Spider and the Henchman and agree that it's not that great. Will definitely try out the Baseball Today podcast though as Bill Simmons is on NBA overload now that football is over and I'm not a big NBA fan.
  8. Anyone else notice that when ESPN is showing highlights of NL players, it almost always shows them playing at Miller Park? For instance, when talking about the Pujols negotiations, it always shows a clip of him hitting a homerun at MP. Is it because MP has good camera angles?
  9. It's a shame. Sloan has been a great coach but I guess he and Williams just can't coexist. Shows a lot of class on his part too to just bow out and make any sort of dispute public.
  10. Pretty cool link of unrealized concept art of MLB stadiums http://www.stadiumpage.com/t500.html
  11. Seems odd to trade him within the division though. If that is the type of deal they were looking for Uggla, were there not other teams offering similar players?
  12. Looks like Wolf is drinking a Smirnoff Ice
  13. Very unclassy move by the Brewers scoring 7 runs. Wasn't 4 runs good enough!?
  14. Apparently the fan was heckling Yadier Molina, not the umpire. I guess it was too much for the classiest catcher in MLB. http://www.google.com/hos...KYsDzd8tfNIXTHmG5I4u9r8A
  15. I agree Nyjer was right in charging the mound. Boo-hoo, he stole two bases after getting hit. At least he was out there playing hard. Also, I was a big fan of his form after the pitch thrown behind him. He sold it perfectly prior to charging towards the mound. The only issue I have is his stupid jump punch. After all the buildup he kinda wussed out by not getting a good punch in there.

  17. So I thought it would be funny to post some hilariously "loose" translations from English to Japanese to English using an online translation service (http://babelfish.yahoo.com/). I think someone did this in the "Random Thoughts" thread and it was great. I'll start: "My favorite sport is baseball. I enjoy watching my favorite team and nothing is more exciting that a home run. I also like cheering on the closer when he ends the game with a strike out. I can't wait to see the Brewers back in the playoffs as soon as possible." ended up being "Sport of my taste is the baseball. I enjoy the fact that I look at the team of the taste, home run nothing is more exciting. In addition as for me when he finishes the game of assault from, because it is close, vigor the fact that you attach is liked. As for me it is not possible to wait as quickly as possible in order to meet to the brewing trader with play off."

  19. http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-dodgers-psychic-20100610,0,5226932,full.story Frank and Jamie McCourt quietly hired a Russian emigre who calls himself a scientist and healer to 'think blue' and channel his thoughts toward the team's success as he watched them play on TV. Vladimir Shpunt, 71, lived most of his life in Russia. He has three degrees in physics and a letter of reference from a Nobel Prize winner. Frank and Jamie McCourt paid him to help the team win by sending positive energy over great distances. Shpunt says he is a scientist and a healer, not a magician. His method could not guarantee the Dodgers would win, he says, but it could make a difference. "Maybe it is just a little," he said. "Maybe it can help." In the five years he worked for the Dodgers, he attended just one game. Instead, he watched them on television in his home more than 3,000 miles from Dodger Stadium, channeling his thoughts toward the team's success. Shpunt's work was one of the best-kept secrets of the McCourt era. The couple kept it hidden even from the team's top executives. But from e-mails and interviews, a picture emerges of how the emigre physicist tried to use his long-distance energy to give the Dodgers an edge. The McCourts, who are embroiled in a contentious divorce, declined to be interviewed about Shpunt. Through their representatives, Frank said it was Jamie's idea to hire him and Jamie said it was Frank's.
