  1. If we gave Yo the run support Looper inexplicably gets, he'd be a 20 game winner.
  2. Looper with the bailout. JJ and Kendall should be embarrassed.
  3. Sure, just very very little.
  4. Ugh why? We already tried him as a starter, why can't they experiment with someone else? Preferably somebody young and might have a future in the league.
  5. I'm not mad like some of you guys. I honestly didn't want them to get a Washburn or whoever and give up a Hardy or a Escobar because we need a lot more help than that to contend. I would of preferred a young guy from the minors who might be here next year. I do find it amusing that Claudio "The Magic Man" Vargas is back. Now we need to get Doug Davis.
  6. Yea this is a bit sketchy. I'll believe it when it happens.
  7. I think we need to start looking towards next year and the future because we need A LOT of help to win it this year. It just isn't happen. Hold on to your prospects.
  8. I'm afraid we'll just stick Mike Burns back in there.
  9. That one's coming back. Last year we had Ben Sheets along with CC. A CC type pitcher while great in his own right won't make Mike Burns and Carlos Villanueva any better.
  10. Trading for another starter would be futile in my opinion. We need 2 or 3 new starters and maybe another good bat to really contend I think.
  11. http://scrapetv.com/News/News%20Pages/Science/Images/massive-nuclear-explosion.jpg we haven't had any good pictures of nuclear explosions lately
  12. I'd say this is rock bottom but there is always tomorrow. Braun is good. edit: forgot the pink
  13. Casey can play the OF too can't he? I don't see why he doesn't see some time out in RF instead of Corey. It's not like Corey is great defensively.
  14. No we couldn't have kept Branyan pretty easily at all. Branyan wanted playing time and the Brewers couldn't guarantee him that. I believe Branyan's 3B playing time is long gone and he is a 1B now and for the rest of his career. Branyan just is not an everyday 3B anymore and with Gamel in the wings the Brewers didn't want to have Branyan taking that spot over Gamel. Plus the Brewers would have had to overpay for Branyan which would may have resulted in the Brewers not getting Hoffman. Now you have problems with your bullpen and starting rotation because the Brewers probably don't pick up Looper either if they bring back both Kapler and Branyan. Overpaying for both because of playing time issues. Now you have Burns/Dillard/ or whoever starting instead of Looper. It is easy to say Melvin should of had resigned those two and then be done with it. You need to look at what else would have happened because of resigning those two. I thought I remembered hearing Branyan wanted to come back but Melvin was never interested. Russ is making 1.4 million and Kapler is making 1 mil if I remember correctly so I don't think money was the issue.
  15. Melvin did a pretty terrible job on the team this year. It's not all his fault but he's a big part of it. Our rotation is terrible and our bench is terrible. You couldn't of honestly went into the season thinking this was a playoff team with a 23 year old pitcher coming other a major injury and a wildly inconsistent Dave Bush being the top of your staff. We could of easily kept Kapler and Branyan pretty easily. Too much deadweight on this team like Bill Hall, Jody Gerut, etc.
