  1. If you're in the Appleton/Oshkosh area and have Time Warner it will be on channel 310.
  2. For Time Warner people, the game is listed on the FSN alternate channel 310, at least it is up here in the Fox Valley. So glad they're making this game available to people outside of the WMLW viewing area!
  3. Matt Holliday to have an emergency appendectomy, out indefinitely. When that happened to Hart a couple of years ago, I believe he was out a couple of months. Any remember exactly?
  4. At least the Cardinals also blew a lead with 2 out in the 9th. Plus Pujols set a new major league record, first player ever to hit into three double plays on Opening Day.
  5. Wasn't it 2008 that Gagne served up the tater to Fukudome? Good omen methinks. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif We won that game in extras, though.
  6. Interesting that the FSN website lists the game as airing on the alternate channel. The Bucks are on FSN, so the game in airing on WMLW. In the past when that happened, no one outside of Milwaukee was able to see the game. However, when the Bucks made the playoffs last year, FSN set up an alternate channel to air Brewer games outside of Milwaukee when they were airing playoff games. Hopefully they're going to do that with the regular season Bucks games this season, as four Brewer games in the first two weeks of the season won't be seen outside of Milwaukee if they don't.
  7. The Brewers purposely made outs to make him look good in hopes he makes the roster. That way we can face him in the regular season when it counts and really tee off on him.
  8. I got through the virtual waiting room in about 45 minutes, but I'm going with my dad, so SRO tickets really aren't feasible. Instead, we booked a package through Red Sox Destinations. Seems like a decent deal, we get good seats for all the games, plus our hotel is taken care of, and we get a VIP tour of Fenway and lunch with a Red Sox player. Hopefully there will be a lot of Brewer fans who are also doing the package too.
  9. Not good. According to McCalvy, the Brewers and Weeks have stopped talking multi-year and are now changing focus to a one year deal.
  10. They haven't done the Winter Caravan since Attanasio bought the team. IIRC, he put the kibosh on it because he wasn't comfortable with his players driving all over Wisconsin roads in the middle of winter. It's really disappointing, because I used to go every year, those were so much fun. I remember one year we got there early and we were waiting in the lobby while they were setting up the banquet hall. The place was empty, there was no one there yet. Ray King walked in, saw my Brewer jacket, and came up and said hi. You just don't get that with the On Deck event.
  11. I think the Rays are the winners just for getting this guy: http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/ee311/ablogaboutthings/Archer-FX.jpg What were the Cubs thinking giving him up?
  12. As someone who's been a 9 game holder since they were introduced, I'm a little disappointed this is only for 20 and up packages. I understand why, but we live too far away to make a 20 game package really feasible for us. So I'm going to try mailing in an entry, can't hurt, and all it will cost me is a stamp, much cheaper than a 20 game package.
  13. Alfredo Simon, who logged 17 saves for the Orioles last season, is suspected of murder in the Dominican Republic.
  14. MLB Network is airing a countdown of the 50 best announcer calls of 2010. #44 was Jim Powell calling Hinske's HR in the playoffs. I had forgotten how nice his voice was, really brought back some memories.
  15. I agree, Reynolds and Williams mentioning Escobar in the OF was a headscratcher. However, Front Burner more than made up for it. It was Heyman and Rosenthal, two guys who actually know what they're talking about. The entire first half hour was about the Brewers concluding with a nice interview with DM. The remaining segments were also Brewer heavy, as both Heyman and Rosenthal said as of right now they'd pick the Brewers to win the Central. Also, when covering the offseason winners and losers, both men said the Brewers were the #1 winners this offseason with the Red Sox and Phillies following. They're replaying it at 10 central time if anyone wants to catch it.
  16. It has been all over MLB Network though. Hot Stove opened with a lengthy segment, and tonight's Front Burner was practically the "Zack Greinke/Milwaukee Brewers Hour." Which just reinforces why ever since the network debuted I haven't turned to ESPN for a single second of baseball coverage with the exception of live games.
  17. So apparently the Yankees offered 7 years, $150 million, and Lee took a 5 year deal worth around $100 million with the Phillies. He left $50 million on the table, I guess he really didn't want to play for the Yankees.
  18. WiscoSportsTalk is reporting Lawrie for Marcum. Not sure if there's any validity to that or not.
  19. A guy with an ERA under 4 in the AL East? Yes, please. Turns 29 in a week, and from what I can find isn't eligible for FA until after the 2012 season. Fantastic trade depending on who we gave up.
  20. I enjoyed the sale as well, it's always fun to take the day off and visit the ballpark in the middle of winter. Last year I got there right as it opened and waited in line forever to get in, could barely move around inside when we finally got in, and waited in line forever to check out. This year I got there at 10, and there was a huge line waiting to check out, but we got right in. By the time we went to check out, there was no line whatsoever. Much, much nicer. I was a little disappointed, last year they had a ton of really nice polo shirts for super cheap. I was hoping to get one for my dad for Christmas, but this year they just had one rack of polos, and it was nothing but smalls. Then I had another idea, I had gotten my dad tickets to a Brewers/Cubs game at Wrigley for his birthday. The Brewers won, and we had a blast. I thought I could get the lineup card from that game and frame it for him. Unfortunately, the game we went to was April 15, and only one left from that series was April 12. So I was 0/2 on gift ideas for pops. Still, I was able to get a really nice green hoodie, which I tried on when I got home and absolutely love. It's comfortable and fits me perfect. Which is nice, because the only other Brewer hoodies I have are from before I lost some weight, so I'm swimming in them. I also got a powder blue "Brew Crew" t-shirt, which was a really cool design I'd never seen before. I also grabbed pajama pants, boxers, and a Hoffman bighead bobblehead. I can't believe the boxers were originally $20, who would pay that much for one pair of boxers? I guess that's why they were marked down to $5, no one did buy them at that price. The pajama pants were the last pair there, and luckily were actually in my size. Yes, hawing, going through those nameplates brought back a ton of memories, a lot of "Man, I can't believe we trotted these guys out as starters." Plus, since these were Spring Training nameplates, there were a ton I didn't recognize at all. I can't imagine anyone shelling out $10 for a nameplate of a NRI from years ago. I can't believe they still have some from over 10 years ago. At least those with the '90s crossed bat logo were only $5. Now that I think about it, my dad loved Angel Echevarria for whatever reason, I think he just loved saying his name. I should have checked to see if one of his was in there, he would have gotten a kick out of it. I stopped by the hats table specifically to see if I could find the stripper hats solely so I could laugh at them again, I was a little disappointed when they weren't there. I actually thought about grabbing the pizza slices for the niece and nephews, but stopped when I saw they were marked $10. I figured something that stupid would be $5 max. I was a surprised when I saw a replica jersey hanging in one of the lockers and the tag on it was only $25. I turned it around to see the name on the back I figured out why, Hardy. Then I saw there were a couple of lockers full of replica Hardy jerseys. I don't know why they ever bothered manufacturing men's Hardy jerseys, what guy is going to wear one? They must have a ton of them.
  21. I agree. It's not like anyone was going to be buying tickets to see Hinske in a Brewers uniform or something, other than his immediate friends and family.I don't know about that, I live in the Fox Valley, and Hinske is pretty popular in Menasha. Whenever Hinske visits Miller Park as a visiting player, a bunch of Menasha bars have bus trips to see him. Probably wouldn't translate to a lot of extra ticket sales, but he'd bring in more people than any other backup OF the Brewers sign.
  22. I'm hoping they have the Hoffman #600 shirt there, as I was at that game. Last year Narveson's nameplate was in the $10 pile instead of on the wall. I had it in my hand, was going to buy it, and decided not to, really wish I would have. Yet they had Corey Patterson's on the wall for $75, I'll never understand that one. Those black lace stripper hats were the single most hideous piece of Brewers merchandise I've ever seen. They do have some really nice deals on clothes. Last year I got a $60 polo shirt for $20, and I picked up a $300 winter coat for $50 for my dad for Christmas.
  23. I got 149, though I only missed 5 names post 1997. It was the early years when I was a kid and didn't really follow the team where I got killed. I can't believe I forgot about Hammonds, though.
  24. I'm planning on making the trip to Boston next year, never been there. To those that have went, any suggestions on where to stay? Anyone know what hotel the Brewers stay at?
