  1. Dusty is never going to live down this "base-clogging" crap. I just wonder if someday he'll realize how idiotic it really is and come on-air to apologize.
  2. D. Lee decided not to save that one for Ramirez.
  3. Ahem, notice how I didn't mention what game he would do this in http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. This thread is starting to sound like "I know something you don't know but I can't say it cause it's naughty."
  5. I've never really been a big Mariotti fan, but I rather enjoyed that article. Especially this part:
  6. I think it's important to remember that this is how the "Gwynn haters" really feel. For the most part, no one wants him to be unsuccessful. Just because someone doesn't think that a Brewers player will be successful doesn't mean that he/she doesn't want them to be.
  7. I think the Indians hold a special place with most of Wisconsin because of Major League. At least for me they do. I also agree with Tbadder that the Yankees are everything that's wrong with baseball, and I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns. I once dated a girl who said that all "real" baseball fans have a Yankees hat. Puke. That statement was worth about as much as her.
  8. Even with a fastball at 86, Pedro has some sick secondary stuff. I imagine as long as he didn't tear anything he'll be back out there in a month or two. Wasn't Pedro supposed to dominate the NL when he came over, just like Santana is supposed to now?
  9. Link Strained left hamstring. That has to suck for the Mets.
  10. For some reason, I'm recalling a Mythbusters episode where they set up a "China shop" in a fenced in area and let some bulls run wild. Surprisingly they were very nimble and didn't knock anything down for a few minutes. They just kept taking perfect corners.
  11. But why would he change speeds for large portions of time? It would make sense if he changed speeds every couple of pitches just to change it up, but Z was consistently over 90 until around pitch 30 where he suddenly dropped consistently below. You have to admit, there is a distinct difference between 0-30 and 30-60.
  12. Wow, he never could recover from the 28-loss rookie campaign.
  13. Lame. I just tried to get the BOC and I thought it went through. I got the order in (purchased 3), and when it went back to the main screen the BOC was still up, so I thought my order was successful. But it still won't put it on my account. I'm very annoyed.
  14. Oh yeah, with Yost as the helm and his grit freedom unleashed, Zimmerman would lead the league in GBAs.
  15. You're too late http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif If you had pulled this before Brewerjamie did his "brewerfan.net will be shut down" prank, it might have worked. Also, Bill Hall might be more believable than Bill Hill...
  16. Zambrano comes off to me as the kind of guy that's so fired up right out of the gate that his first pitch is mid-90s, then falling off from there.
  17. That's why I'd be suspicious as to the reliability of the numbers over the course of a season. As I watched it on Gameday, he was consistently around 93, which is about what rluzinski showed as the median. But then again, that's the pitch speed out of his hand, so it depends where the radar is taking it from.
  18. That's one of the biggest reasons I love Gameday. I also like the "pitch break" effect. Not being able to watch the game live, it was nice to actually see the break of Benny's curve, followed by a big red "STRIKE OUT" on the screen. I think this sort of thing would be interesting to do every so often during the course of the season for all of the pitchers. It would be nice to know that all of the games will have equally as reliable numbers, but that might be the only problem right now.
  19. Ha! You could not be more right http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. You...suck. Oh my God my heart just stopped for a second.
  21. Wow. It's weird how I've always kinda liked TGJ but I never thought that there were people here, other than a few stragglers maybe, that "hate" TGJ. I definitely wouldn't say it's a large majority. No one said TGJ shouldn't play. Most just don't think that he's good enough to be a 150 game starter for a team is good as the Brewers. And projections are exactly what they claim to be...projections. This isn't a real difficult concept to understand; a projection, by definition, is not prophetic. It's just a projection. I probably wouldn't project very well to start on a pennant-race team in major league baseball. Should I just be given the chance anyway? Just to see? TWR- How is it a flaw to base projections on past performance? That's the only thing to go off. We knew that Braun and Prince would have power because of past performance. We know that Rickie has the ability to hit better than he has based on past performance. How else do you come up with a projection?
  22. in terms of "moral victory" stuff our ace outpitched theirs Since I couldn't actually watch the game, did Sheets really outpitch Z?
  23. Riske: "Eric, sit down for a second. Let me teach you something about closing a game." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. Ned, again with the double switches?
