  1. Woops, I didn't even realize Turnbow went yesterday.
  2. At some point, Turnbow has to pitch, too
  3. The only way I can think of for it to help the team is by "clearing" the pitcher.
  4. Another inning like that and Villy is done after 5. Too bad cause he seems to be shutting them down. Hopefully he can make it through the 5th in 10-12 pitches so he can at least start the 6th.
  5. With Patterson leading off and Dusty at the helm, they're a much darker horse.
  6. K's are great, but not if it's gonna give him 100 pitches in 5 innings.
  7. I must be missing something since I'm not watching the actual game. How is his stuff nasty?
  8. I don't see how his 4 seam and 2 seam could be so consistent speed-wise if he has a 2 seam. His fastballs have been consistent the entire game, so I just don't understand how it's so hard to hit him. 91-93 MPH fastball, every pitch.
  9. I'm at work. I have to type fast so it seems like I'm doing something http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. Gameday usually shows two different pitch speeds. One is the release speed (the one that's traditionally followed), and the other is the speed when it reaches the plate. He's been around 88-89 with his fastball all game, but it's pretty likely that those pitches are around 80 when they reach the plate. I'm becoming a Gameday expert with all the flippin day games http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. Villy is mixing up his pitches quite well so far. I haven't seen many changeups though...
  12. I just can't imagine how a lefty that throws all fastballs can be successful against a team like the Brewers. I'll predict he gets pulled by the 4th inning.
  13. Again, I'm not sure if someone is watching and can verify this, but Gameday is showing that Sanchez has thrown 24 pitches, and ALL ARE FASTBALLS. Is this really happening?
  14. Sit Hall against a lefty? Never. Never ever ever.
  15. According to Gameday, Sanchez has thrown nothing but fastballs so far.
  16. Stolen base+single=run produced I like this team a lot.
  17. I just realized Bengie Molina is batting clean-up. This has to be one of the most awful lineups I've ever seen.
  18. If Villy has a 2.90 ERA and he's only 14-5, I'll be EXTREMELY disappointed. And I agree that I'm tired of the day games already. Gameday is something that I don't mind watching for a day game here and there, but being at work every day I'm getting a little sick of it. Oh well, at least I have the option of Gameday as opposed to nothing http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. This is highly unlike me, but I'm gonna call conspiracy on this one. These apparent NFL sources that leaked out the information about Favre probably have the same goal as the rest of the NFL...to make people talk football year-round. What better way to do that than to "leak" information about someone as popular as Brett Favre right when baseball starts? I think the whole thing smells. Edit: I also hate to make this argument, but it seems you're contributing to the Brett Favre talk by talking about how angry you are about the Brett Favre talk. Just a thought.
  20. Is there anyone there to see it?
  21. Consider the source... I can't stand Keith Law.
  22. Donnie Darko is probably one of my most favorite movies ever, and I can't explain why. I often wonder this when I can't figure out a movie. I keep thinking that there seem to be these glaring holes in the plot, but there must be some strange reason to fill in those holes. Then I wonder if perhaps the writing was just so bad that these glaring holes never got noticed, and the movie really does suck. I hate that feeling.
  23. 1. Several people do think that Yost is an idiot for batting the pitcher 8th, but as was already said, there are statistical reasons for doing so. 2. It is a 162 game season and, in my opinion, Corey Patterson should lead off 0 of them. 3. I wouldn't get hired over Dusty because Dusty was successful during a different time of baseball, a time when all managers thought the CF should be a speed demon and lead-off hitter. Because he was successful during that time, he has "experience". 4. I also believe Dusty was watching his team during spring training, but I disagree that Patterson was the best option outside of Freel. Statistics back-up my feelings. What backs up yours? Regardless of the Patterson stuff, the guy is still sticking behind his "clogging up the bases" claim. I just can't put any faith in a manager that thinks its a bad thing to have guys on base, regardless of how slow they might be.
