  1. I know we have plenty of guys to play 3rd base (and 1st for that matter), but I guess I am somewhat confused as to why we let Russell go while we re-signed Lamb. Branyan was more than adequate defensively last year, is a good late game PH option, and has had a great spring (.314 avg, 1.074 OPS, 7 HR's in a team high 70 AB's). Not to mention the fact the guy may just have resurrected our season last year. Obviously Lamb did not make the team in the end, but to me Branyan is better in pretty much every aspect of the game. I guess this point is moot, but I can't help but wonder why. I doubt it was a money thing (unless Branyan was looking for a 2 yr deal??) Thoughts?
  2. Holy cow the game isn't blacked out! Nice to watch in HD. Glad I dvr'd it - can't wait to watch Prince's bomb and defensive gem
  3. Erstad has always been a quite good CF defender (still is, by UZR), but for the love of all that is holy, is he ever a terrible hitter. A poor man's Erstad would be a pretty bad player in AAA. Since the Brewers are probably going to keep Duffy, let's hope he's at least an upper middle class man's Erstad.Ok - I think you know what I was getting at though. He costs a lot less than Erstad has over most of his career. Erstad is a career .284 hitter with a career .337 OBP and that is no small sample size. I would be happy with anything like that out of Duffy combined with his solid defense.
  4. It would be great and such a bonus for Suppan to have a solid year. He has been pretty good here at the end of ST. Fielder just hit a HR over the catwalk. BA said one of the longest bombs you will ever see
  5. He's a pretty bad CF'er and that it based on several years ago when he was with the Brewers. I can't imagine he has gotten better with age (33). I'm not crazy about the idea of Hart playing CF, but given a little time I have no doubt he would be better than Scottie Po I say we stick with Duffy. I like his defense, speed, and hustle. Reminds me a bit of a poor man's Erstad
  6. Here's the lineup: Rickie Weeks 2B Corey Hart RF Ryan Braun LF Prince Fielder 1B J.J. Hardy SS Mike Cameron CF Bill Hall 3B Jason Kendall C Jeff Suppan RHP Mark DiFelice, Mitch Stetter and Carlos Villanueva are scheduled to follow Suppan White Sox: Wise 8, Getz 4, Fields 5, Betemit 3, BA 9, Miller 2, Lilli 6, Negron 7, Floyd 1. Supposedly the game will be on the MLBN, but I am sure they will find some way to black it out. Never know when I might hop on my private jet and head on down to AZ to catch a weekday matinee
  7. Sounds like Gwynn is as good as gone... http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/42331882.html http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/42336267.html
  8. He does seem to be made out of the same material as TGJ's bat, whatever highly breakable thing that might be Braun is back in the lineup today - not sure if that makes me happy or not. I guess it does
  9. I saw the replay. It can't be easy to judge the grab on that steep berm. The thing that killed me was I watched a replay of the MLB Tonight show from last night and it was Vasgersian doing the highlight and I don't even think he realized it was the Happy Youngster! Talk about irony!
  10. Personally, I think the difference from Rickie v 2008 and Rickie v 2009 is quite apparent . And I haven't noticed his front foot coming off the ground during his waggle like last year
  11. [insert sarcastic black-out comment here]Haha-pretty sure I will be surprised if it is actually on eventhough it is a re-airingAnd lo and behold its blacked out! A re-airing of a ST game played half the country away. Does it get any more ridiculous?
  12. Agreed. I would say that's a bit premature. Last night was just bad luck and only resulted in a bruise (I hope...)
  13. That might be your best bet. I have seen a few listings at just over face, but you really have to watch and be able to respond as soon as it is posted. If you go to MP of fri and don't manage to get tickets at the price you are looking for I am sure you could still manage to have a good time!
  14. Not sure if you guys have been watching craigslist at all, but the prices seem to be coming down some, at least on some of the postings. I actually got tickets for saturdays game in Loge OF on the aisle for slightly under face plus a free parking pass
  15. From what I have read and seen, he never got rid of the waggle-just slowed it down quite a bit. There was an article in the js in the past few days where Sveum was talking about Weeks needing to get the waggle stopped early enough before the pitch and when he does that he is hitting like .800 this spring
  16. [insert sarcastic black-out comment here]Haha-pretty sure I will be surprised if it is actually on eventhough it is a re-airing
  17. FYI this game will be re-aired at 8 PM CDT tonight on MLBN
  18. Duffy homers off of Rauch and instantly has more thunder in his bat than TGJ
  19. Wow Bush has given up 10 hits already - not what I wanted to see 2 of which are to Haren and 4 are for extra bases Ugh
  20. Thanks a lot for the help guys. I am leary of tuning it myself. I am not what you would call a handy person and would be affraid of making it worse. Apparently the installer from Dish did a much better than the guy from Direc. I will check out that site TheCrew. Thanks again!
  21. I've heard Woodman's has great prices on most things...is this true? I have never been to one
  22. Yeah last nights non-showing and explanations from direc/dish were ridiculous. So frustrating! On a related note, I used to be a Dish Network customer and had it for almost a year and pretty much never lost my signal due to weather in that period of time. I recently switched to DirecTv and have lost the signal 3 times in a matter of 2 weeks due to weather - 2 of which were for over an hour. Anyone else have similar problems or experiences or possibly even some advice. The dishes were both in the exact same location on my roof
  23. Tony Gwynn Jr.
