  1. That may be true, but people that I have known that have had battles with their weight tell me that they have learned that it is all about how you feel, not what the scale says. Here's to hoping he feels like hitting about 50 bombs this year!
  2. I must say that reading that post by AW on the js blog put a big smile on my face. Not only because he said it was quite apparent that Prince has shed some lb's (which is great news!), but also because it was like getting smacked in the face with a big dose of reality for me that baseball season is just about upon is fellow bfnetters! T minus 24 days before I head to Maryvale!
  3. I am glad to hear DM is headed down there to talk to Dale. I really hope they retain Sveum
  4. I also disagree with the notion that the working environment of the Milwaukee Brewers has gone down hill. I find that very hard to believe and that is not what I have heard
  5. Nice seats! I will be in 228 row 2 most likely wearing my gray 2008 Wild Card shirt. Seeing you will be that close to the Phillies dugout you should ask Charlie Manuel how long he's been "growed up"?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  6. I'm in the same section, row 2. Maybe we will bump into each other and share a "high 5" after the Brewers win!
  7. Why doesn't John Smoltz just wear a Phillies jersey in the booth?
  8. i just told a buddy i bet CC has more quality at bats than Hart today. it sounded smart at the time, but seems like a no-brainer now that i think about it. boo on Hart. boo.You should be up 2 already because CC not only accounted for one out there, it would have been a sac fly in Hart's spot
  9. FYI mine is good. I have Dish Network if you are wondering
  10. So strange that I posted earlier today that I wanted TGJ in right tonight and most people disagreed. Now what do you all think? I would not even want to know what my blood pressure is right now
  11. Is he even trying?! Get him off the freaking field! His is a disgrace!
  12. I guess I should have been a little more clear in my post in that I would definitely consider Nelson a better option right now too - I was just concerned about his defense because I don't know much about it. We saw how much poor defense can hurt you in the postseason yesterday, and TGJ is a good defender. As for TGJ, I'm not sure if he does or does not belong on a MLB roster, but with the way Hart is at the plate right now, his performance would not be considered MLB worthy in my mind either (and I striclty mean that with the way he has been lately, not overall)
  13. Put me on the YoGa 4 Sunday ballot
  14. I know it won't happen, but is anyone else hoping to see TGJ in rightfield tonight? I know Hart looked a little bit better yesterday, but a single and a well hit ground ball is not enough to make me feel confident in him just yet. He still struck out to end the game on the most hittable pitch Lidge threw in the 9th, who obviously wasn't as dominant as usual yesterday. I wouldn't mind seeing Nelson either, but I would imagine his defense is average at best and the Brewers can't afford to put an average rightfielder to start out there in October. They definitely wouldn't be losing anything defensively with TGJ out there and right now they need guys to just get on base and I have more confidence in TGJ doing that right now than Hart (I have more confidence in anyone over Hart right now except Hall). I just don't like the matchup for Hart vs Myers and I think it might be a favorable matchup for a slap-hitting lefty like TGJ. At some point something has to give with Hart and his .300 OBP (and much lower than that over the last month or so). Any thoughts???
  15. I think even if Zambrano pitches reasonably well the Cubs are in trouble tomorrow. Billingsly is going to be real tough on their line-up. And eventhough it didn't really show tonight, getting Furcal back is a huge boost for that Dodger team. They have been a real good team in september and through 1 game in oct
  16. Thought this might be of interest... Weather conditions foiled Cameron By Tom Haudricourt Wednesday, Oct 1 2008, 07:51 PM Philadelphia - Mike Cameron never had seen weather conditions like that at Citizens Bank Park. "The wind was doing God knows what out there," said the Brewers centerfielder. With the wind and rain blowing across from leftfield today in the bottom of the third inning of Game 1 of the NLDS, Cameron figured the drive off the bat of Philadelphia's Chase Utley would get knocked down. Accordingly, he worked across the field, toward left, rather than back. "I cut across like it was going to go down but it kept rising," said Cameron. "My first instinct was that it was not going to travel, because of the way the wind was blowing. It just kind of took off." At the last instant, Cameron altered his route, going straight back and attempting a leaping catch. He momentarily had it in the webbing of his glove, half in, half out, but when he tumbled to the turf, the ball came free and Utley had a two-run double that would prove the difference in Philadelphia's 3-1 victory. "It turned out to be a pretty big play in the game," said Cameron. "If it isn't caught, nobody can catch it except Mike Cameron," said Brewers interim manager Dale Sveum. "I never question anything he does in center field. He's as good a centerfielder as I've ever been around in my 27 years in the game. "If it was supposed to be caught, he would have caught it. He came within inches of it and at that time the wind was probably blowing 30 miles an hour. If he doesn't catch it, there's nobody that can catch it."
  17. Could not agree more. He never looks like it pains him to make the decisions either. He makes them, cut and dry. He has convictions and sticks to them and I really think his calm demeanor and quiet confidence is beginning to permeate this young club
  18. I agree that Hardy would be somewhat of a waste at 2nd considering his arm and if moved should be to 3rd, but Escobar would be even more of a waste at 2nd considering he is already considered gold glove caliber at SS and has a magnificent arm.
  19. I would have to agree with SoCal that we had several AB's today that eventhough they may not have produced were pretty good at bats with good approaches. I'm just worried that we as fans may have been easily impressed or satisfied considering how bad most of our AB's have been throughout of september. I also agree that a lot of our struggles had to do with Hamels. Our defense...well, thats another story
  20. I think Bill Hall should be relegated to overly complex handshake and butt slap duty from here on...til he is no longer a Brewer
  21. The thing that really frustrates me is that Lidge made a mistake a threw a hittable fastball right down the middle at the thighs with the tying run at 2nd and not only did he not hit it hard - he didn't hit it at all. Take a seat Corey
  22. I would love it if we didn't see Hart the rest of the season
  23. We definitely got some great pitching today. Good job guys!!! Lets make Lidge imperfect
