  1. Its hard for me to admit, but so far I am fairly impressed with Provus. Jim Powell he ain't, but better than expected IMO.
  2. Nice little day here in EC to go along with the exhibition opener - bout 45 sunny degrees, got Ueck streaming, even got the window cracked a bit!
  3. That is insane to think that Hart put on 25 solid pounds. I know he has a long lanky frame with lots of room to add muscle, but still. Sounds like something from the steroid era (and no, I am not implying anythinghttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif). I am very frustrated with how Corey ended the season, but I definitely think he has 30/30 potential - especially if he can improve his plate discipline!
  4. I can take over the PBP if anyone wants or needs it?? First 2 batters Bush faced both grounded out to Hardy 3rd out was ground out to Rickie. I will get the batter's names on here from now on. Just kinda waiting to see if anyone even needs PBP anymore Bottom 3rd (Geo Gonzalez in to pitch for OAK) Kendall--double to rightcenter Salome (PH for Bush)--K looking Weeks--F4 Hardy--5-3 Top 4th (Coffey in to pitch, Counsell at 2nd and Escobar at SS) Holiday--F7 Giambi--6-3 (sounded like a nice play up the middle eventhough Esobar was shifted over) Suzuki--single to LF Crosby--K Julio up in the pen for MIL Bottom 4th (Gonzalez still ptiching) Braun--F8 Fielder--6-3 Hart--HR to RF Cam--F9 (sorry for the delay - Yuku was giving me the performing maintenance there for awhile) After 4 OAK 1 MIL 1 Top 5th (Julio in to pitch, Duffy in CF) Hannahan--BB Patterson--1-3 FC (Hannahan moves to 2nd) Carter PH--K Buck--2 run HR to right Sweeney--infield single Holiday--4-3 Mid 5th OAK 3 MIL 1 Bottom 5th (Mazarro in to pitch) McGehee--4-3 Kendall--single up the middle PH Lamb--K Counsell--single to center Escobar--6-3 (got jammed) Top 6th (Nick Green in to pitch, Rivera catching) Giambi--4-3 Powell--K looking Petit-1-3 Good, quick inning for Green Bottom 6th (Schroeder pitching for OAK) Braun--K Fielder--K Hart--BB (Nelson in to pinch run for Hart) Duffy--pop up in IF (ueck did not specify) Top 7th (Nixon in LF, Nelson at first, HOFFMAN in to pitch--Trevor Time!) 5. To me it always is. Not sure what I'd do without it. Glad to hear its the broadcast that is a little hissy and its not my computer speakers going
  6. Good sign that Rickie twisted his first DP chance of the year!
  7. Man it seems weird having the other voice beside Uecker's not being Powell's
  8. Birthday wishes to you Hawing! How bout we get her a win!
  9. In honor of today's official start to the exhibition season, I thought I would start a thread proposing the notion of allowing Brew City Unit to return from self-imposed exile from bfnet. For those that may have forgotten, BCU made a prediction towards the end of the regular season last year that did not quite come true and when the prediction was made another poster told BCU to "put his money where his mouth is" so-to-speak. BCU said if what he was predicting did not come to fruition he would ban himself from this site, which he has. Now, the prediction was that the Brewers would win out the rest of the regular season (or something of the sort,I can't recall exactly how many games remained - 7 or 8 I believe) and make it to the postseason, which at that time is what it appeared it would take for them to do so. Although they did not do exactly what he predicted, they did get on a roll and make it into the playoffs, as we are all aware. It is my belief that ultimately BCU was just hoping and predicting what he had all been praying for and he actually had the gall to make a statement and and live-up to the ultimatum he put to himself at the behest of a fellow bfnetter. Another bfnetter kindly offered up an autographed Weeks jersey to BCU should the Brewers make the postseason, but BCU would not accept it because all he was trying to do was instill some hope in bfnet at a time when many of us had given up our playoff dreams. I feel that being away from a site and fellow posters that he loves and appreciates from October '08 until now has been punishment enough. What say you bfnet??

  11. Well that stinks. Like some other posters have already mentioned, it would have been nice to hear something one way or another. I received no response on either of my email addresses. Those of us that didn't hear anything back must really be the ultimate losers in the lottery
  12. I just purchased a Nintendo Wii (having never played one before last night) and I was looking for some recommendations as far as what games are best (I like mostly sports oriented games, especially baseball-obviously) and where the best places are to get games and accessories as far as price and selection go. As it is probably apparent, I'm not much of a gamer but I like the idea of Wii being somewhat interactive and providing a little exercise (it has been a long winter). Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice you may be willing to offer up!

  14. Sorry - I was doing it quick at work. I figured everyone knew it wasn't coming from me. From now on I will be sure to make note of where things are coming from
  15. UPDATE at 2:58 p.m. CT: Didn't get this in before we had to meet Macha on the field, but 2-1 was the final score, with Lamb's sacrifice fly representing the winning run for Fischer's Fantastics. Time of game was 55 minutes, prompting calls for four-inning games throughout Spring Training.
  16. UPDATE at 2:14 p.m. CT: With so many defensive changes in this game, it looks like Lamb has the MVP award locked up. Lamb made a diving stop at first base in the top of the second inning and shoveled to DiFelice for a tough out against Mat Gamel, then drove in the Fantastics' second run in the bottom of the second inning with a sacrifice fly. That made it 2-0, but Scott Thorman got one run back in the top of the third inning with an RBI single.
  17. UPDATE at 1:45 p.m. CT: It was nine up, nine down for Brewers pitchers before Hardy began 2009 the way he ended 2008. Hardy hit an 0-and-1 pitch from Dillard for a home run to left-center field leading off the bottom of the second inning. It's 1-0, Fantastics. And the regulars are already hitting the showers. Hart, Counsell, Braun, Weeks, Kendall, Cameron, Fielder and Rivera all left the game after one at-bat, making way for Minor Leaguers on loan from the other half of the complex.
  18. Nice work blingster! Still nothin for me...
  19. Here's a link to an interesting article for those of you trying to decide between plasma and lcd http://newteevee.com/2009...-point-in-the-plasma-era/
  20. Buydig.com is pretty much the only place I buy electronics. I have bought 2 tv's from them (both LCD's -32" and 50") and have nothing but good things to say about them and as far as I can tell, they consistently have the lowest prices on many tv's.
  21. Well, at least I'm not the only one then. Not sure if it is good or bad...
  22. Still haven't heard anything back on either of my 2 email accounts...anyone else in the same boat??
  23. Count me in the group of not having been notified either way yet (fingers crossed)
  24. I missed it live. Is there somewhere you can watch the clip?
  25. I am anxious to see photos of Prince version '09. Has anyone seen any on the web anywhere?
