  1. Sounds good naivin and Shlitz - just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to jinx the Brewers or something by being the only one to tune out BA. I don't know why, but I just get the impression that Smoltz gives the Brewers zero respect. And I like John Smoltz
  2. I'm not sure that Burrell being in the starting line-up is all bad for the Brewers if his injury hinders his performance...just ask Ben Sheets
  3. Anyone else that is watching at home gonna put TBS on mute and listen to Ueck and Jim Powell?
  4. good chance to win the series in Milwaukee. Can you imgaine??!
  5. What color are those supposed to be posted in?http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. I thought the same thing when I read it. If Hart continues to struggle as mightily as he has lately, what would they have to lose by letting Nelson get some AB's
  7. Tryin out my new avatar on an old thread
  8. 1. Brewers 2. Brewers 3. Brewers 4. Brewers 5. Brewers 6. Brewers 7. Brewers 8. Brewers!

  10. Burrell could be scratched By Tom Haudricourt Wednesday, Oct 1 2008, 10:46 AM Philadelphia - Phillies leftfielder Pat Burrell was scheduled to appear in the interview room before Game 1 of the NLDS today but we just received notice that the team trainer is coming instead. Burrell suffered lower back stiffness during batting practice yesterday and left the field. He obviously is staying in the clubhouse for treatment rather than coming to the interview room. The Phillies also have not posted their lineup, so they're probably waiting on Burrell's status. If Burrell can't play, it would take a big bat out of the Phillies' lineup. He hit 33 home runs and drove in 86 runs this season. If he is scratched, perhaps Philly would put former Brewer Geoff Jenkins in the lineup? That would be pretty ironic, huh? Anyway, as soon as we hear Burrell's status, we'll update the blog. The Phillies announced their 25-man roster and there are no big surprises. RHP Kyle Kendrick, who started in the rotation most of the year but faded in September, is out, as is RHP Adam Eaton, who also pitched in the rotation much of the year before being sent to the minors to work out mechanical problems. Young lefty J.A. Happ, who made some late-season starts for the Phillies, was added to the bullpen. Veteran Rudy Seanez was dropped. We'll post what CC Sabathia and Dale Sveum have to say in their pre-game sessions afterward. Game time is 2:07 p.m. in Milwaukee. It is being telecast by TBS.
  11. Nice outlook. Was that supposed to be in blue?
  12. Well, in hopes that your h.s graduation and sister's wedding both turned out well (with the exception of your being ill) let's hope this continues the trend and is a sign of good thing to come!! Get better!
  13. Last I checked the chance of rain had been reduced to like 30% of showers. Anyone else gettin geeked up for the game yet? T - 17.5 hours!!
  14. Funny story - my brother in law was just at MP picking up my playoff tickets for me and as he was leaving a man approached him and asked if he was interested in buying the "last 2" Wild Card hats. My bro-in-law smiled and said he was sure they weren't the last 2, but how much did he want for them? The guy said they were going for $250 on ebay and that he would save him the shipping cost. My brother in law just laughed and said "no thanks" and walked away. Are people nuts?!
  15. The playoff rules allow teams to keep six players in uniform who are not active in the dugout during games. Interim manager Dale Sveum chose the six extras who have been with the team the longest: RHP Ben Sheets OF Gabe Kapler 3B Russell Branyan RHP David Riske INF/OF Joe Dillon C Vinny Rottino Sheets (elbow), Riske (elbow), Kapler (shoulder) and Branyan (back) are out with injuries. Dillon was up and down with the team during the season and Rottino was a September call-up. The other September call-ups, such as Alcides Escobar, Tim Dillard and Mark DiFelice, will be on hand but not in uniform. Catcher Angel Salome left to prepare to play in the Arizona Fall League. Mike Lamb, signed in September, was not eligible to play and left because his wife is close to giving birth. Reliever Todd Coffey, aquired on waivers from Cincinnati in early September, isn't eligible to play, either, but asked if he could accompany the team. Coffey made nine scoreless relief outings and wanted to stay with the club. "I wanted to stay with the team," said Coffey. "I feel a played a role in helping us get here. It doesn't hurt to ask. They said OK."
  16. I just copy and pasted it out of the JS blog. It would almost have to be Mota
  17. I am soooo glad Nelson made it over Dillon. Also, I am sure its just the way it happened, but I found it somewhat humorous that Hart is the last man listed on the roster
  18. So, here's the roster: Pitchers (12) RHP Dave Bush RHP Eric Gagne RHP Yovani Gallado RHP Seth McClung LHP Manny Parra LHP CC Sabathia LHP Brian Shouse LHP Mitch Stetter RHP Jeff Suppan RHP Salomon Torres RHP Carlos Villanueva Catchers (2) Jason Kendall Mike Rivera Infielders (7) Craig Counsell Ray Durham Prince Fielder Bill Hall J.J. Hardy Brad Nelson Rickie Weeks Outfielders (4) Ryan Braun Mike Cameron Tony Gwynn Jr. Corey Hart (edit: prettification http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif --1992)
  19. You don't have to be injured to swing at every pitch you see, most of which are well out of the strike zone
  20. Absolutely!! Ned would have never had the guts to start YO in game 1. That's because there's a chapter in his book that says game one must go to an overpriced vet with postseason experience
  21. 228 row 2
