  1. Nice to see Logan Henderson getting some work tonight.
  2. I thought the same thing. But I’m not seeing a ton of fodder either. It’s a roster with a lot of deep cuts. And a lot of outfielders. 😊
  3. Lots to dissect here. Should be a fun squad.
  4. For cash? Outstanding. I’m all for the Brewers making TONZ of trades. And that’s exactly what they’ve been doing. Keep working the fringes. The very act dims complacency and stokes competition. And the Brewers track record is admirable. Not many complete stinkers. Plenty of win-wins. And plenty of fleecing.
  5. This looks to be a worthy reclamation project. Matos doesn’t whiff and he doesn’t K. He has a cannon. Everything else is meh. I’m guessing they are hoping for some swing decision improvement. His comps on Savant are the following list of useful players. Similar Batters to Luis Matos: 2024 - Brooks Lee 2023 - Nico Hoerner 2023 - Tommy Edman 2023 - Jose Trevino 2023 - Tony Kemp
  6. Pratt’s defense and baserunning are both truly exceptional. So smart. And he has a good eye at the plate. If he hits, it’s a 5+ WAR profile. I’m on the fence only because his EV’s are so pedestrian, but a strong case can be made that we should expect him to be useful in the batters box.
  7. It’s pretty fascinating, the disconnect. We are told the Brewers cannot possibly keep forcing defensive mistakes at the rate from last year. Sure, maybe. Yet, there was Sean Burke yesterday, making an ill-advised errant throw which led to the Brewers taking control of the game. I saw a desperate pitcher, ground down by tough at-bats, aggressive base-running, and hustle, taking a chance on a long shot out. One can claim that was random luck but it’s also by design.
  8. 2-out walk started things for Norfolk in the 2nd. After 3 more hits allowed, Crow managed to escape only letting in 2 runs.
  9. Baseball is so much deeper than the box score. A few things worth mentioning here in the early parts of the game: 46 degrees - so a cold weather game Tyler Black (1B) and Freddy Zamora (2B) robbed 1st inning hits to the joy of Coleman Crow Coleman Crow struck out the 3rd hitter but no love from the umpire. Instead, a BB. He blew away the next guy, so no harm, but I'd argue he had two K's, no BB's, and recorded 4 outs in that inning
  10. This team can blaze (Chourio is missing but he is about 29 ft/s as well) Statcast Sprint Speed Leaderboard | baseballsavant.com
  11. The International League is absolutely loaded with premium hitting talent.
  12. His name rings out in these run prevention streetz
  13. Excited to see what they have here. But I’m not enamored with the Quero’s offensive profile. It’s okay for a catcher. Things get much more exciting if he improves his chase rate.
  14. It's a play you want. But this was not your typical pop fly. It was reminiscent of Jake Bauer's homer yesterday as far as height. And announcers claim it's pretty windy. But what do I know? Tyler Black should have had it. It's a proper error. I'm probably coaching Luis Lara to call for anything he can get to with Black in left. No harm, as Gasser blew away Enrique Bradford Jr. and Jackson Holliday to get out of the jam.
  15. Cruz pitched well this Spring. Stuff looked ticked up a tad in relief. No surprise.
  16. I’ll be tuning in tonight! I expect a much sexier batting line from Cooper Pratt this season.
  17. Sproat and Harrison both looked the part yesterday. I’m still fascinated by these games where one guy gives you 9–15 outs, then another gives you 9–15, and someone else finishes the last 1–6. The Brewers are one of the few teams actually built to do this. Their entire staff—yes, even Megill and Uribe—has shown the ability to handle more than a single inning. One way to win on the margins is by being the team that keeps its pitchers the healthiest. And “healthy” isn’t just avoiding the IL or surgery; it’s making sure your best arms are primed for peak performance after six months of wear and tear. The things that really stress pitchers—working deep into games, pitching on back‑to‑back days, grinding through long innings, taking the ball on short rest—should be reserved for October, when the risk/reward calculus finally tilts in your favor. During the season, teams often break those rules just to scratch out wins. But if you build enough depth, maybe you don’t have to. A positionless pitching staff—one that extends beyond the 13 guys on the MLB roster to include another 10+ arms in AA/AAA who can be optioned, shuttled, or acquired as needed—opens the door to some genuinely interesting regular‑season load‑management strategies. It’s a different way of thinking about pitching, but the Brewers might be one of the few clubs actually equipped to pull it off.
  18. I wasn't going to mention this one, partly because it seemed too obvious maybe, but after seeing him in action a few times this Spring, Daniel Dickinson looks like a freaking sportscar out there., Maybe not a Lambo, like Luis Pena, but he's got some horsepower inside a really well-built baseball chassis. I'm hitching my wagon to the idea that he can make it. Not a big name out of high school. Walked on at Utah Valley. Raked from day 1 there. Charged his way to a 125 wRC+ in the SEC as a Junior with a hurting wrist. He fell to the 6th round in 2025 and then signed for a very modest bonus ($325k). Dickinson has not played in a professional game except for this Spring Training. I see shades of Nico Hoerner in the batter's box. Can sting a mistake. Can get the bat on almost any shape or zone. Fast and quick. Seems to have the tools to be a good fielder and baserunner. The comps that come back for Dickinson will be very interesting. I'm excited to see how the Brewers decide to deploy this talent. 19. Dorchies looks like a major home run. For an underslot ($162.5k) 10th-round pick, everyone’s got to be thrilled. Joey Broughton ($535k), Jayden Dubanewicz ($665k), and Tyler Renz ($850k) — maybe none of them end up contributing, but Dorchies and Tyson Hardin (12th, $147.5k) both look like they’ve got the goods. Those other guys have plenty of time. The 10th round has been good to the Brewers lately, with Brian Fitzpatrick and Dorchies both looking like big leaguers. Hopefully Braylon Owens (2025, $10k bonus) is next.
  20. Super interesting that they've had Bitonti playing some 3B this Spring. If it's workable, his value took a big step up. Bitonti was also in the Wilson Warbirds media guide at least mildly suggesting he'll return to low-A to start the year. That makes sense if you plan to work him at 3B. Still, I'd put him in A+ because he already has 600+ low-A at-bats.
  21. Sir, you need a new Pick to Click!
  22. Was at the game and saw Fitz close it out. The Reds had their backups in by then but the stuff popped and he is a towering figure on the mound. Lefty to boot. Pretty sure the Brewers cultivated another high leverage bullpen option here and only needed a 10th round pick, an $100k signing bonus, and a few years in the system to do it. How many millions did the Cubs spend on their bullpen this offseason? Cooper Pratt made a spectacular diving catch on a line drive in the hole to end the game. Fitz and Gary were loving it.
  23. Yes, lots of weak contact, but that’s partly because he gives up a lot of contact in general. He also gives up a lot of hard contact and thus a lot of runs. One of his comps on Baseball Savant is 2024 Colin Rae. I’m wondering if that’s the guy the Brewers are dreaming on here. He won’t eat as many innings as Rae did in 2024 but might be similarly effective. Brewers defense and bullpen are both elite. His stats should improve considerably even if his under the hood data doesn’t. Hunt did stall a bit. But I’m sure Tampa is happy to have him. I imagine both teams see a tweak that could help each guy.
