Kyle Jones smells like a bit of a buy-low play as a guy who had helium a couple years ago but dealt with some injuries. A solid offseason at the complex and it wouldn’t shock me if Jones makes a lot of noise in the system. I’m wondering if Strosnider and Jones aren’t ticketed for Appleton once signed. Those would be some interesting new ingredients to bolster that lineup and defense.

This is super interesting. I wouldn’t really think the Brewers would be on a guy like this unless; 1. Plus makeup 2. High BBIQ / Teachable 3. Belief that you can tweak the approach based on scouting / conversations with the athlete The ingredients for a superstar are here if he can swing at the right pitches. Excited to learn more about the player. Last thought, the Brewers do a nice job of not letting recency bias factor overly. Yes, he hit below .300 this last year but the track record prior to that blip is stellar.

The rankings mean zilch. There are thousands of draft eligible guys to know and the difference between 25 and 150 is not significant at the end of the day. I’m sure Trey Ebel was very high on their board if not at the top. If they got their guy, I’m more than happy. Plus, I take this as an admission they love Brady’s intangibles and want more. Very good sign. Trey appears to be a baseball nut with many exceptional qualities. A Brewers guy through and through.

I watched Dubanewicz last night and he operates right at about 94 with a few ticks extra when the mechanics sink up perfectly Broughton is still high 80’s but shape is workable.

“What we would pay to hear what MLB GM's and Farm Directors say about the Milwaukee machine behind their closed doors. Utter envy, we'd imagine.” I had a similar thought last night. I’m more curious to know the opinion of the Brewers leadership. What are their 10 commandments of player development? Do they feel they have cracked the code or is this a luck-oriented heater? I would be quite interested to hear who their top 20 pitching prospects in the system are.

It’s incredible to see this come to fruition for the organization. I’ll stump for Andrew Fischer. These lists certainly expose some of the limitations of the “national prospect pundit”. Andrew Fischer belongs in the top 25 of any top 100 list but folks are spooked by the K rate. Normally that would track, but as we know from the recent interview Andrew did, nobody on the Brewers side of the fence seems too concerned. It’s practically by design, simply a byproduct of a new-age approach to swingmaxxing from Brewers offensive dev.
