  1. I think we could see Dennis in Brevard soon, like around the draft. That would help spark that offense.
  2. Some nice nights for the hitters tonight. Salome with a RBI hit in the 6 run seventh. Oeltjen keeps hitting. Cain on twice, Lawrie with a triple, Gindl continues to so damage, but none were as good as Lucroy. He went 3-3 with a BB. Haydel also 3-3. Green had a hit. Errors for Cain, Green, and Gindl. Bowman pitched decent. Prince with a double for BC and Erik Miller with a nice night including a steal. Watten got beat up. WI's offense is much improved, that much we know. Gennett still hitting .400. Dennis with 2 doubles. Same for Khris Davis (actually, now 3!). Same for Romero. Richardson's night was not so good. I really like Khris Davis. If he continues to rake (.350), and he has all the tools to do so, he could really shoot up BF.net power 50 rankings. He has been batting third for the TRats. This really seems like the year to go see this team play. They are loaded with talent.
  3. Omg! Fredrickson through 1; 1 hit, 2 K's, 0 BB's, 0 HBP, 0 WP's. Has this ever happened. Good job Evan!
  4. I agree Paul, he is more interesting then Waters at least.
  5. The Red Sox are just not a good fit. They love their prospects more then anyone else, and never seem to offer full value for players. Theo seems much more concerned with winning every trade then doing something that could be mutually beneficial. To think they could have had Halladay (with the same extension he got in PHI) for only Bucholz/Kelley and Westmoreland/Ellsbury/Anderson/Tazawa/whoever is pretty amazing, and just laughable that they didn't take it. Prince is no Roy Halladay in terms of WAR, but he is still an impact bat that probably would make a huge difference for Boston if they acquired him. I think Melvin should really hold tight in any Prince negotiations. Everyone wants a Teix deal, but that deal has aged very well for TEX. Feliz was essentially the fourth guy added to the deal. Andrus was only 18 or 19 at the time, and no one really thought he would be anything special (or even acceptable) with the bat. Salty was the big piece, and he is adequate now at best. Harrison is a decent pitcher at this point but very unproven and has had a lot of injuries. Of course, Teix was/is one of the best 1B in the league, so it seemed pretty fair at the time. If Melvin is talking to Boston, I want Bucholz, Bowden/Anderson/Rizzo/something similar, and Fuentes. Boston will extend him, that is a given. I find it very hard to believe that Boston won't be the highest bidder come FA anyways. Maybe they could get a discount this way.
  6. Scarpetta had a really, really good night as well. 6 K's in 6. 1 BB and 1 HBP. Komatsu is having a great night atthe plate and on the base paths. He would go a long way to solidifying that BC lineup. Cain gunned down guy at second and Gennett got gunned at home tonight as well. Very interesting night.
  7. WI offense errupts (the pitching is pretty special too...). Fatse again, Richardson with a hit and a steal, and a double for each of Dennis and Garfield. Farris with a hit. That average is creeping. Waters is getting a little roughed up.
  8. Odorizzi is toying with hitters through two. Peter Fatse with a couple of rbi's. Gindl with a hit and Cain with a walk, but the stars couldn't put any across in the first. Rogers, though a bit wild, has looked strong through two. Lucroy is sitting in favor of McCraw tonight. Wheeler is hitting in the four hole.
  9. I'm not positive, but most reports commenting on his attitude seem to suggest he is egotistical or cocky. I have also seen the 'all he cares about is hitting' label thrown at him.
  10. Richardson with a RBI double and Gennett with a hit and walk. Estrada has a nice looking line so far for Nashville. Oeltjen with his fourth steal. Cain with his third. Khris Davis with two GIDP.
  11. Not that this is indisputable, but the local news here in TC said the traffic was actually much better then they had planned for. I believe the quote was, 'zero congestion and backups.' I'm sure the traffic backed up a bit right after, but the public transportation options available greatly reduced the amount of car traffic.
  12. I believe that those rights belong to Minnesota Timberwolves actually. I just heard that on the news actually. I'm not sure what the wolves plan to do with it.
  13. It's very tough to beat a downtown stadium. I still wonder what it would have been like if that Potawatomi deal had gone through. A DT or lakefront stadium in Milwaukee would be pretty cool.
  14. Yea, this Hall pick seems really weird. 25 innings total for his final two years in HS? I was the #2 on our HS staff, and I threw 70+ innings my senior year alone. Idk, I love how projectable he is, but that's about it.
  15. I echo Maas. He could easily be hurt. He threw a ton of innings last year. He should not have even sniffed pro ball last summer. I really hope I'm wrong.
  16. There are two Edmonds catches I remember. The first was early in his Angels career when he made a Willie Mays style catch except he was fully layed out. That catch won web gem of the year. Then I remember another that was basically the same except he was diving up the hill in center at Houston's new stadium. That one was with the Classys. One of my favorite Brewer plays was the diving catch Braun made early last season at Wrigley. He flew so freakin' far for that ball. I don't care if he initially misplayed it, which he probably did.
  17. Maas, that does make some pretty good sense. If Katin continues to show improved results though, J would like to see him play everyday somewhere. He has starting RF upside.
  18. Not that I have tons of experience with pepper spray but I know that even if you do not receive a direct hit in the face or body, pepper spray can still effect the target. Try just spraying on the ground 5-10 ft in front of you as a sort of barrier as the dog runs up. Even the smallest sense of pepper spray should send a dog in the other direction.
  19. Thank goodness they won this game. And I'm kind of happy it had to happen this way. Now the Classys know that we can come up big when it counts most. 3-3 is pretty good considering the competition. And the pitching, minus Hoffy and Yo, has been better then last year. You can already tell. And we all know Hoffy and Yo will be just fine, like always.
  20. Yea, if he keeps this up for another month or half season, I could see the Brewers making the call. He seems to be a very similar player to Nelson Cruz. Their career paths aren't too different either.
  21. Gindl is the guy at Huntsville who few talk about, but Imo he will have the best year. All he does is produce, and at a very young age for every stop. If people can get excited about Kentrail Davis, then they should be at least as pumped for Caleb. I would be very surprised, and elated, if Davis can match what Gindl did last year at BC.
  22. You know, I think we have plenty of potential impact hitters coming. We could always use more. Salome has an impact bat for a C. Lucroy is close as well. We have Dennis at first base. All he does is hit. Lawrie, and I guess Gennet, are coming up as second basemen. Nothing to special at short, but I consider Escobar a potential impact bat. Gamel and Green both have above average hitter ceilings for third basemen. In the outfield, I could see any of Richardson, Kentrail Davis, Gindle, or Cain making an all-star team or two. Schafer is close. I still very much believe in Maxwell Walla who will probably play in Helena this summer. Plus we just signed a young Latin player (Pena maybe?) who has tons of potential. None of these guys are Prince or Braun good, yet, but they all have the ability to really take off.
  23. I thought we already knew why Hurley was in the mental institution? Correct me if I'm wrong, but after they came back as the Oceanic Six, He had that night where either Sayid or Ben killed a bunch of dudes, but Hurley took the blame so he wouldn't have to go back to the island. And he had that crazy car chase as well. I think those are the events that led to him being institutionalized.
