  1. Interesting assessment, and thanks for weighing in. It may be possible - the ACs have been running a lot - but no attic. It's a flat roof and there shouldn't be any ventilation in there - and the humidity wouldn't explain the similar leak that happened in January. It also is not a constant drip. When it started it would drip every seven seconds or so. Now it's every 7-10 minutes or so. Leads me to believe that a bunch of water got in there and some of it has dried up.
  2. On the bright side, perfect time to have the AAA All-Star break. Can call up pitchers who are truly rested as they haven't played since Sunday.
  3. Barnes' OPS-A this year is .709 - not terrible but not great. His BABIP this year is .350, and over the last seven days his BABIP is a ridiculous .857 (yes, BABIP), suggesting some bad luck and a likely positive progression in the future.
  4. Jenkins and Hart were the other winners. Don't know who the losers were. Correct. 2nd place finishers were 2006 and 2016 I've got Koskie in 2006 and Braun in 2016.
  5. Also happy to see Segura get in. He was never going to become that player here - too much baggage with the loss of his son and too many reminders of that. He needed a fresh start. For the Brewers to rebuild as quickly as they did primarily through trades, and to see ex-Brewers who maybe weren't thought of that highly (Segura, Haniger, Gennett on top of Brantley and Nelson Cruz) become All-Stars... those 2008-2014 teams had talent. They didn't luck their way into contention.
  6. Their motivations (right now) are: 1. To keep contending this year. 2. To shed some $ so that they can acquire a need but remain under the luxury tax threshold. I don't know what his defensive skills are, but what about acquiring Nick Hundley from them to be the backup C? Swap Kratz for Hundley straight up? We'd lose our enforcer though...
  7. Prior to today's game, one of these was Corey Ray and one of these was Troy Stokes: Player A - 386 PA, 82 H, 21 2B, 6 3B, 13 HR, 45 RBI, 21 SB, 44 BB, 105 K, .243 BA, .337 OBP, .792 OPS Player B - 383 PA, 82 H, 18 2B, 6 3B, 13 HR, 44 RBI, 14 SB, 45 BB, 106 K, .253 BA, .360 OBP, .826 OPS Kind of eerie, huh? Troy Stokes should get some love too.
  8. I worked in the produce department of a grocery store back in high school. Quite familiar with rotten potatoes actually.
  9. Sort of. 94 pitches to get through 4.1 innings. Not encouraging to see Ortiz only go 49 pitches.
  10. Better yet the... ... get ready for it... ... Charlotte Rays. (I'll show myself out...)
  11. Didn't know Yo Gallardo was playing for Texas. Seven appearances, started four games for them, and despite an 8.17 ERA going into tonight he was 3-0.
  12. Bottom of the lineup, now's the time to give him his first shot. Little amped up for that first pitch...
  13. Over his last 16 games, Lucas Erceg has a .865 OPS. I recall him struggling the first half of last year but coming on strong the 2nd half.
  14. Gameday has Hader's fastball at only 90-91. If that's the case, get him out of there before he really is hurt.
  15. And now Thames is out of the game, you know, because they needed that one extra spot before the pitcher came up next.
  16. The Yankees would have to clearly have the best offer, and they'd for sure shop the Yankees offer around.
  17. If you look at Woodruff's and Burnes' minor league peripherals at each level, they're not much different. Woodruff has a higher K rate, slightly higher walk rate. If what they want is ML-ready players then Woodruff + Phillips + Derby for Machado + international bonus pool $ I think makes sense. If they're looking at Zack Brown... he's being typical Zack Brown tonight.
  18. I'm all for going to college, but I think you're nuts if you turn down an offer of over $1M. Way too many examples of HS guys who didn't pan out in college, got hurt, etc. Keep $125K to live off of for the next 5-6 years and stick $375K in investments and you'll be set for life. To be able to invest that much at age 18... you'll be a multi-millionaire no matter what you do. The #8 pick value was $4.9M. Even if they offer only $4M... $2M after taxes. Buy your parents a house, stick $1M in investments and you'll have plenty to live off of and be a multi-millionaire down the road.
  19. How many times do they let you vote? I've been going for 10 minutes and they haven't stopped me yet and said I've reached the max.
  20. Wilkerson, Derby, Perrin. Hell, take two of those three. For 3 months of Machado I wouldn't give up two of Woodruff/Houser/Burnes/Ortiz/Brown, and Peralta is off the table. If they want another piece they can have Stokes, maybe Dubon. Maybe I'd include Ortiz if the O's sent back enough International Bonus Pool $... and the Brewers had high upside players to sign with it.
