  1. I wonder what Corey Hart's numbers are after that horrible start in which he was rushed back.
  2. I don't think DM has the luxury of firing a 3rd manager during his tenure. Just not gonna happen. That's basically saying fire me too.
  3. Actually, I think good hitters use the entire field. Yeah, I never said good hitters pull the ball exclusively. But that's for the most part what they go up there intending to do. A lot of the greatest hitters of all time have had huge shifts employed against them (Bautista, Bonds, Giambi, Ortiz, Prince, Ted Williams). McGehee has pretty much gone exclusively oppo for his hits during this slump. I don't think he's covering the inside corner at all. And I swear to god, if DM gives up anything of value for Betemit before he's actually given Green a chance I'm done with the guy.
  4. If you include the ASG (where along with Rolen he was the most overmatched hitter on either squad), Weeks is 0-12 with some pretty brutal at-bats since the Home Run Derby. Probably just a little bit of noise, but he's also earned his results. You always hear about a player that struggles after the homerun derby. It may be a cliche, but I always hope our guys sits it out.
  5. I'd say there's no chance he'd hit worse than McGehee. .276/.311. He's basically Gomez at the plate with a lot LESS power. Add in his defensive and baserunning shortcomings to that line and you can see why he's been a huge net negative this year. If McG does get sent down, he needs to work on turning on pitches again. When is the last time he's hit a ball hard to LF? I know "baseball men" like Schroeder love when a guy goes oppo, but it also can really mess up your swing when that's all your trying to do. Good hitters pull the ball.
  6. So Josh Wilson also falls into that "he must be a terrific defender because he can't hit a lick" category. Never fails.
  7. It seems like Weeks and McG constantly lose their grip on the bat on their foul thru.
  8. Braun even looked like he was limping in the dugout. I'd be kinda surprised if he makes it thru the game.
  9. I hope the break gave Casey time to clear his head and get back on track. I have thought since the slump began that you give the guy until the series after the ASB to get his act together. Need results from him this series (as in I don't care how 'unlucky' someone says he is), or I call up Green. If the 3 day vacation doesn't do it, you gotta send him down.
  10. I HATE Gamel starting at 3b. It would not surprise me at all if he has some throwing errors tonight. On Wednesday, I was watching him warm up and he launched at least two throws over Prince's head and into the crowd. To me it seemed like he was really thinking about the throws too a la Knoblauch. He should be sent down to play everyday at 1b. Call up Green to play 3b.
  11. Green needs to come up to spell McGehee and Weeks. He's now in danger of dropping below an 800 ops.
  12. Nice catch Kotsay! Don't want to be too negative, but how the heck did Yuni not knock that down. Cripes. I'm out, and I'm not gonna watch another game until I attend Wednesday's game. Watching the Brewers is not very enjoyable right now.
  13. We got 18 minutes before Kotsay gets his bonus. Hurry up Doug! This lineup is brutal to watch right now. Everyone besides Braun and Fielder has been an out machine (with a special shout out to McG).
  14. No Bill, the one Gomez just swung thru was about a foot higher. Braun is a great hitter but i swear to god he also gets cheap hits wayyy more than the average hitter.
  15. Wait, Gomez is hitting second again? I should of figured after he had that one good game against the Twins.
  16. Well stated. I was thinking the same thing, but you summed it up perfectly.
  17. I think Howard is kind of a locker room cancer iirc. Plus he's gotta be getting up there. I'd pass. I like Thornton or Affalo. Either guy would be good additions that still have some upside. Do we even have a MLE to use this year after we gave Gooden one last year? I will cry if the team brings back Redd.
  18. At bats like that are the main reason why I don't want Weeks hitting in the middle of the lineup. No matter what anyone says, he does strikeout way too much. I mean, how do you strikeout 2 times to Carl Pavano in the same game? Plush picks him up. And Braun hits a rope. Good deal.
  19. Liriano pitched terrible and Dumatrait is the guy who gave up the back-to-back-to-back hrs to us back in 07. That must of felt like heaven after seeing Lackey, Lester, Wakefield, Niemann, Hellickson, Price, and Baker consecutively.
  20. Young judged that flyball about as well as BA judges one from the booth. Wow.
  21. I wouldn't put it past him, but I was gonna lol if O'Driscoll would have scored that a two base error. No scorer in the league would do that to his team.
  22. LOL. That a boy Gomez. I was just about to post how Gomez is 1-17 with 9 k's this month.
  23. Hey, Taylor Green did play 2b last night http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  24. LOL. I honestly think Weeks could be a better SS than Yuni.
