  1. Has that ever happened before? Manager is hired, the team is successful (because they're talented ldo), but it's also painfully obvious the manager is in wayyyyy over his head. I guess you could say that the Phoenix Suns kinda did that with Terry Porter a few years back, but I don't recall it happening in baseball. I ask because I came to post the same thing. I understand that the next guy is gonna have his flaws, but this guy is an idiot. There's really no other way to say it.
  2. should of intentionally walked him and brought in axford. Castro seems like he hits the ball hard every ab.
  3. Quade is a clown. Wow. That said, he's still probably a better manager than Roenicke.
  4. McG has been really unlucky but he's also swinging at balls when he could be taking walks instead.
  5. Every time Weeks hits a line drive I just assume it's gonna be caught.
  6. Nice play by Weeks...he's gotten a lot better at those hard hit backhanders.
  7. you have to make sure your cursor isn't clicked in the search tab. Click right below the guitar doodle itself.
  8. Why would we send down Dillard now? He's pitched very well in the few innings he's been up so far. He even got some lefties out last night. He's actually been one of the best pitchers out of the bullpen for the past couple of weeks. I think he's earned his spot for now. That's the thing though. He got some lefties out last night, so now there's little doubt that our egghead manager will think that means he'll be able to get them out again tonight. Kinda what happened with Loe earlier this year. Dillard was just a suggestion. I'd guess he's the worst reliever going forward. I rated him much higher when he threw over the top with a mid 90s fastball and a high 80s slider.
  9. 368768676453. Play it. I thought I had the main riff for Sally Cinnamon by The Stones Roses worked out but I can't get the last two notes figured out.
  10. How many ROOGY's does our bullpen really need? Send down Dillard, call up Herrera. Put Loe in a position to succeed by having him only face righties in a tight spot. If he continues to struggle thru the all-star break, call up DeFilice. Until Saito comes back, let the matchups dictate who's gonna pitch to who in the 8th inning. It's pretty damn simple, which makes it all the more frustrating.
  11. well said. that's what I'm pretty much getting at i guess. Nothing like Braun's pinch hit homer against FLA just last week, or nothing even like Fielder's game tying tonight come to mind. Guy's never even hit a GS. He did hit a big pinch hit hr off of Gaudin down the playoff stretch in 08 against the Cubs but I don't think it was to take the lead iirc.
  12. Is this supposed to be in blue? I pretty much agree with Briggs. He's rarely turned on any inside fastballs this year...something he was mighty capable of the last couple of years. The guy has basically become a 270 lb singles hitter....not a good recipe for success. He's kind of suffering from the same thing Hardy did in 09 and Weeks did in early 08. Start off crushing the ball in April but with little to no results. After a decent amount of time, that can be draining and can create bad habits. Then you start to earn your bad results. It would also be a little bit easier to come out of a slump if he had any chance of beating out an IF hit. That's why I find ajay's number 2 especially puzzling if he's being serious. He's getting slower each year.
  13. Hmmm. Surprising numbers on Weeks, topper. Must be selective memory on my part, but I just remember a lot more bad at-bats by him later in games than good ones (the one in STL with the bases loaded, 2 outs and strikes out on 3 pitches especially comes to mind).
  14. Excellent. We got a win and hopefully Roenicke will finally realize Loe isn't some dominant shutdown reliever you can just designate an inning to. Whoever said Weeks stinks in close and late situations is right. Dude has weak nerves. The 3-0 and 3-1 pitches he fouled back were meat. Luckily Nyjer picked him up, but it's getting old.
  15. Pretty much what Toby said. I'd go with the Gold Standard Whey Protein before and after your workout and get the Casein Protein that you take right before bed. Order from Amazon. You have a pretty similar build to me....I'd say if you cut out bad carbs and try to eat 5-6 smallish meals a day you'll be cut in no time. After you build a base, I'd lose the Whey Protein and try to take something more natural for your protein source i.e Greek Yogurt, egg whites, etc. Cottage Cheese is a good source of Casein protein, so you could lose that supplement too. If you want to do that much cardio your gonna have to take in a TON of protein. It's odd, right now it seems like i'm losing strength wrt to pullups. I'm 6'0 but have the arms of someone much taller (I can dunk easily)....but still, I went from being to doing 3 reps of 8 easily, right when I took the pullup bar out of the package. Now I'm struggling to do 3 sets of 4. I don't get it.
  16. Well said. I've been an unabashed supporter of Bonds since day 1, so I'm definitely biased. But I just love how this shows Bonds doesn't care AT ALL what the media or casualfan.jpeg thinks of him.
  17. It seems Weeks has been terrible late in close games this year. Use your friggin head. They have a base open with a 2-2 count. Oh well, he was out 2 pitches ago anyways.
  18. That's why you don't go to the plate looking for a walk and a walk only.
  19. I thought Sedar was taking some decent calculated risks lately with some of his sends, but those must of been dumb luck. Jaw-dropping.
  20. The thing with TJ is that he made the guys around him much better during that first season when he was at his best. During Jennings' hot start, he was dropping 30, 40, or 50 pts with a couple of assists on unsustainable shooting percentages. It was fun while it lasted but that's been 100+ games ago now. He doesn't do one thing at an above average level...which definitely doesn't bode well for his future. I don't want to dump the guy for nothing. He's still young so there's the chance he could become a decent starter. But if I could get a top 10 pick for him this year? No doubt.
  21. there's a lot of things that can go wrong for the defense there. That's mainly what I'm trying to say. If the throw home would have been off the mark and Boggs is standing on 3rd, people would've flipped. I'd guess Boggs is safe there closer to 40% of the time rather than 20 or 30. Also, what sargennm said. I'm not a big fan of Counsel's chances against a guy throwing 100 mph.
  22. Don't think so. Two perfect throws and he was still safe. The odds of getting one run there are much greater than getting one before recording another out.
