  1. I think he started something like 1-5 with a 8ish ERA.
  2. Its something that was alluded to as being pretty much set in stone according to one of the blogs on Brewers.comI know TH said it was a possibility, but Macha only used it a few times in ST, IIRC.
  3. I'm surprised no one mentioned Hart batting second. I thought that was something we might see, but not opening date. Nevertheless, i don't have a problem with it.
  4. Yeah, that anonymous Vin Scully guy...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif How are you seeing the game on tv? I was watching via MLB.TV... I thought Scully did radio? I'm probably wrong Anyway, I went to the mlb.tv and they gave me 120 seconds to view the game before requiring that I sign up.
  5. I caught a little of the first inning and the Dodgers tv announcer doesn't know his facts. He said Braun had 82 RBI's last year along with 28 HR's (must have used the stats 2 years ago), but the worst was that he said Braun played a terrible 3rd base last year. Seriously? Come on.
  6. I thought the same thing last night, his bat waggle was still there and I thought I heard he stopped doing that. Need to see a side by side comparison.I actually saw the difference. Maybe because I was looking for a difference, but he freezes his waggle when the pitch comes in. I don't remember him doing that in the past.
  7. How much is the cost of one of those for a month?
  8. Boy, Looper sure doesn't look good. He needs a lot more work as he is clearly leaving way too many pitches up. If he continues like this, we are in trouble. Usually one would just say to give him time, well, he's got 12 days to look "better".
  9. I don't know if anyone read the blog about Lamb being disappointed, but for some reason, it sounds like he thought he was entitled to a spot on the team. I don't know why a guy who hasn't done anything in 3 years and is 33, feels entitled to a roster spot. It's not like he had a great spring either. (.250)
  10. Realistically speaking, if the Brewers were to approach JJ with a long term contract this year, what would his cost be? 5 years, 60 million? If Alcides is as good as everyone thinks he is @ SS, it'd be the best to trade him or leave him at SS. It just doesn't make sense to move him to a different position long term. If only JJ would be willing to move to 3rd.
  11. Do you guys use power swing or regular swing most of the time? You can hit HR's on regular swings, but I'd think getting hits would be a lot with regular swing.
  12. Honestly, this whole depth over performance is beyond absurd. If Macha/Melvin kept Gywnn over Duffy and Lamb over McGehee, I will be seriously be tempted to get them some health evaultions. Perhaps a bit harsh, but why not put your best players out there? Duffy can play all 3 outfield positions and hit. McGehee has played 1st, 2nd,and 3rd base this spring. I can't fathom leaving those two off the roster because they have options remaining. You are sacrificing the team at that point for options.
  13. I couldn't help but laugh at the write up on brewers.com. "David Riske earned the save after his first scoreless outing of the spring, and he saved the game ball for his memoribilia case." (linked to article --1992)
  14. I don't think there is any doubt that Looper is rusty, but he better get in shape quickly. He's only got 2 more weeks. I wish Lamb would start sucking so McGehee could make the roster. Then, he hits a 3run homer.
  15. The question I have is... Why would the Brewers play him in a ST game when he isn't/wasn't 100%. We have two weeks until the season starts, so let's just rest him. It's not like he's going to forget how to hit.
  16. +1 This truly would be a huge mistake and the way they are talking lately, they might make a boneheaded move before long.
  17. He's Canadian http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. I honestly don't know how we could exclude Nelson or McGehee from our opening day roster. Nelson is that lefty PH off the bench and McGehee has showed with his bat and glove that he deserves a chance on the roster. I really don't want Lamb on the opening day roster. McGehee is the better defender and probably the same hitter as Lamb.
  19. Is Coffey is best option to close? He has looked great in ST.
  20. Darn, I was really hoping DiFelice would have a nice start.
  21. It's the breaking news on sportscenter. 1 year deal for Pudge.
