  1. How about we sit both guys and start Salome. We are clearly out of it.
  2. I still can't believe nothing happened to Torre for this. Absolutely dumbfounded as he basically ordered it.
  3. I'm just happy to have a guy who can throw some gas besides Coffey. It seems like our bullpen is a bunch of soft-tossers.
  4. How was the Molitor line? Did you get there pretty early?
  5. Would the team even think about moving Weeks to center? I'd love to see it happen, but don't think the brass would do it.
  6. Even in real time, I saw a swipe with no contact, Martin just looked like he reached and missed.
  7. Atta boy Brauny. Without having a second look at the play at home, I'd tend to think Counsell went around the tag.
  8. Got lucky there, still don't know why we pitched to Manny, but glad I was wrong.
  9. I really hope the Brewers staff still isn't hanging onto the "Kendall is a great game caller" or whatever it is that they proclaim. Let's get some young blood behind the plate and especially young blood that can hit. I also don't believe he's that good defensively anymore. His throws to second sometimes are way off.
  10. I seriously question our management if they are willing to give Burns another shot, but won't give a shot to Dillard or Cody first.
  11. Might as well add Jamey Wright to that list as well.
  12. Everyone knows the price for starting pitching is very high, so why mortgage the future for a mediocre SP?
  13. I'm pretty sure he was considered a big time prospect but struggled in AAA or wherever he is now.
  14. Count me in the same boat that has everyone outraged if we deal Escobar. Melvin can't be that short sighted could he? I highly doubt/hope that Escobar goes anywhere but Milwaukee.
  15. The problem with that is..why does everyone want Escobar then? If they could go sign a FA for that amount, then he shouldn't be a hot commodity. Calling him an average league hitter doesn't do justice either. He's been constantly improving every year and he's at or around .295 in AAA. I think his basement is .240
  16. Like many have said, it Melvin makes a trade for Halladay, then he's crazy. This team is not one great pitcher away from a championship. This would sacrifice the future too much, IMO especially when dealing with the budget. I'd be irrate if we gave up Gamel or Escobar at this point for Doc.
  17. Wait, doesn't he have a mutual option? He can opt out if he wants, but I doubt the Brewers wouldn't bring him back if they wanted him. Technically, not under contract, but an option is correct.
  18. It's easy to throw out worst case scenarios like that, but it's just not very likely to happen. I would assume the Brewers could get some kind of insurance on Halladay's contract as well. He's been very healthy throughout his career, so to think he might suddenly get hurt is being overly pessimistic. Yes, it could happen...but you can't always run a baseball team on every worst case scenario. That's exactly what I trying to get at. Worst case scenario would be Escobar and Gamel being busts. You can't have that point of view either. Don't forget the miles Halladay has on his arm already. He's been really reliable, but he's 32, IIRC, so he could get injuried. I say the likelihood of Gamel and Escobar being busts is less than Halladay getting hurt. One of them a bust, sure, I'd agree, but not both.
  19. What if Halladay blows out his arm 2 starts in as a Brewer? Then you'd be really happy you dealt both Gamel and Escobar. Plus, we've already seen Gamel's potential this year.
  20. I honestly don't think Reed Johnson is an everyday player. He's a good player off the bench, but I wouldn't want him playing everyday, IMO.
  21. Would we even want to re-sign him? Some team is going to give him at least $10 million over four years. Not a smart move with his injury history. I'm just saying that if we have to give up Hardy or Hart to get him, you better be able to resign him rather than rent him.
  22. Nobody thinks if we deal for Bedard that we wouldn't resign him?
  23. I've had a great transaction with Crew2323 along with a few other already mentioned.
