  1. There's no reason Marquis should only have 5 balls in 2 innings. The Brewers are approaching him like it's Cliff Lee and they need to attack early in the count. He sucks.
  2. Coshun's not terrible or anything, just pretty dull. I can't blame him, it's not like it's his normal job. Countdown continues for Hart's return every time Kotsay weakly grounds out to the right side. It's like watching Kendall a couple years ago.
  3. How was it? Wanted to go but couldn't swing it.
  4. 1) I don't really think so. Only 2 of the 11 teams "outperformed" their seed, a bunch underperformed. If Butler won it wouldn't suddenly make the Horizon League a great league. 2) Only 6 of the last 52 Final Four teams came from conferences outside of the Power 6. One of those was Marquette in '03, when C-USA had a handful of top teams, and another was Memphis in '08. With Coach Cal and his recruiting (legitimate or otherwise) you're never really a mid-major. It's great that more mid-majors are doing well and gaining recognition, but I don't think a team like VCU or Mason making a FF run every few years necessarily ends that notion. I think it's more the fact that particular teams from smaller conferences (Gonzaga/Xavier/Butler/etc.) have been standing out the last several years. That's not to say some power conferences aren't overrated and some mid-major ones aren't underrated.
  5. Maybe he needs to eat more bananas. Isn't that what happened when he left a start against the Brewers a few years ago because of cramps, not enough potassium or something.
  6. If he can still manage to draw a walk, he can show bunt as often as he wants. That's kind of my point though, he gets on base often enough where he doesn't have to show bunt every at-bat. Gomez on the other hand...
  7. Is Morgan going to have an at bat this year where he doesn't attempt a bunt.
  8. I was thinking the same thing Gobias, especially when BA said "Look at the appreciation from the crowd!"
  9. If Bill is second guessing the bunt there, you know it's not the best idea.
  10. Edwards just straight up skipped Nyjer Morgan during the lineup announcement.
  11. My completely uneducated guess, on a whim: 2 @ Cin 1-1 4 vs. Atl 2-2 3 vs. ChC 2-1 3 @ Pit 1-2 3 @ Was 2-1 3 @ Phi 1-2 3 vs. Hou 2-1 3 vs. Cin 2-1 2 @ Hou 1-1 14-12
  12. Whether or not Casey made a bad play, Axford pitched poorly. The batter before Hernandez crushed one too. Ouch.
  13. What better way to get Volquez to "settle down" than to have him face the worst 6-7-8 in the national league.
  14. No need for replay though, it'll just slow down the game! Human error is a part of the game guys!
  15. Laid off a close one for the walk there, always encouraging to see from him.
  16. Didn't take long for Prince's lack of mobility to result in a ground-ball hit.
  17. I'd go crazy if Dusty was my manager. Bunting runner over with 27 outs left down 3.
