  1. Furcal's hit was weak, next hit was hit decently well but really it was just a groundball. It's not like Saito was awful to start the inning.
  2. Maybe he'll pull a D'Backs game and strand the runner on 3rd with no outs.
  3. I'll be thrilled if it's tied when the Cards are done batting.
  4. The 3-1 or 3-2 pitch? That 3-1 one looked extremely hittable.
  5. Is there anyway to look up how often different teams making pitching changes in the middle of an inning? It seems like RRR never does, but I don't know if it's one of those things that's skewed cause you watch the same team ~150 times a year.
  6. I really hope Marcum's leash is shorter than it is longer.
  7. Let's hope http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  8. It's actually laugh out loud funny at how bad this defense can be at different facets of the game. Fielding, throwing, (lack of) range.
  9. Couldn't agree more with everything you said, though I think for me it happened sometime during the later part of the the 2008 season. The 4 game sweep the Brewers had in St. Louis around this time that season is still one of my favorite Brewers memories ever. Love your avatar as well. As annoying as it is that Cards fans think they're the greatest in the world, it's worse when others propagate it. During the Cards/Cubs game on ESPN last night Furcal got a big ovation for his first PA. Dan Shulman (who I like actually) was going on about the knowledgeable Cards fanbase cheering the new arrival. There's not a team in the league that wouldn't cheer a new player's first at bat, give me a break. As long as the Brewers win 1 game this series I'll be content.
  10. Cards 1-2 - @Astros 2-1 - @Cards 1-2 Pirates 2-1 Dodgers 3-1 @Mets 2-1 @Pirates 2-2 - Cubs 2-1 - Cards 1-1 16-12, 0.5 game lead on the Cards leading to an extremely nerve racking September.
  11. Does anyone know if STL has any plans of re-signing Jackson after the season?
  12. I haven't seen a slow motion replay, but doesn't the catcher also tag Lugo's arm after he "tags" (I'll give you guys the benefit of the doubt) Lugo's shin? Lugo re-touches home plate after he is called safe because even he can't believe it. I don't know what else there is to say.
  13. Excellent clarification from Meals, you can't ask for much more from an umpire than that. Completely understandable missed call. Like Aytumious just noted, after 19 innings, & at game speed, any poster who's claiming this to be some terrible call is just kidding him/herself. I disagree completely. Sure, the swipe tag is never a good idea in a situation like that, but it is damn obvious that he was out in real time. It's baffling to me so many people are coming to the defense of Meals. It's a blown call, period. I don't get how that's excellent clarification either. Don't you think Meals probably watched the replay after the game? "I'm guessing he might have got him." At least take responsibility and say "Yeah, I didn't see the tag applied when it happened, but it definitely looks like I missed the call." Like a lot of people I don't see the Pirates as legit contenders come September, but it shouldn't matter. This was a bad call.
  14. http://www.spin.com/node/46131 Chuck Klosterman wrote this a few years ago, interesting to read.
  15. Every single hop ever for a Brewer infielder is an "in between hop" according to Bill. Sure it was kind of tough but you can't make excuses every time.
  16. You mean like that "outstanding" play he just made for the first out in the 9th? Was a pretty nice play though, to be fair.
  17. Every time Counsell is announced as a PHer I die a little inside. He's just wilting away. Even KRod's warmup throws in the bullpen look violent.
  18. Hawkins has been reverting back to being an okay pitcher. If RRR is hell bent on using a "7th inning guy" I'd rather see Saito since they had the day off yesterday
  19. All the dummies who boo Loe now thinking "Yeah that was luck."
  20. Agreed. I was at a Brewers-Pirates game there in 2007 where Damian Miller had two home runs and drove in 7 runs. There were plenty of apathetic Pirates fans both sarcastically and non-ironically cheering him during his second home run. I guess it's hard to feel too bad given the Steelers and Penguins recent success, but still. That stadium is too awesome to have a terrible team for so long.
  21. Who? One of the more popular/critically acclaimed female musicians of the last 15 or so years.
