    Shroeder apparently loves Jason Kendall. He said it will help out the Cubs (.261 OBP). He also just said " Looks like he's having a down year in't he?" He has like 3 home runs his last two full seasons...

    Kevin Mench, Rickie Weeks, Tony Graffanino. All right handed hitters, all on the bench, all having a break for the next four days. Is it a rule once a player starts he must play all 9 innings?

    That would sure be cool if Mench or someone would pinch-hit for Gwynn, but I'm sure Yost won't do it.

    You've got to be kidding me, it's 100 freaking degrees and he's thrown 30 pitches this inning, this seems like a big joke.

    I know this doesn't really pertain to the In-Game Thread, but there's no point in starting a topic on it... I was at the game last night (first time at PNC) and I only noticed one bullpen (where the Brewers were). Does anyone know if the Pirates bullpen is kind of hidden somewhere or maybe they share one? Either that or I'm just dumb and didn't notice it.

    I think Verlander got the no-hitter because in the last IGT his picture was normal, not one where he was looking disappointed. Since the Maroth one is more like that I think the Brewers should be alright tomorrow http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

    Well, if they hold on for this win, they would have to go 0-6 vs. DET/MIN to return to Milwaukee under .500. I'm just frustrated as all hell right now, even with this win. Detroit is on fire right now and Minny is coming on. We still could very possibly have another week of hell in front of us. I'm expecting 2-4 or worse to end the road trip. Detroit is 6-4 in their last 10. I know they just took the series from the Mets, but I wouldn't necessarily say they're on fire. The Twins are 4-6 and just lost a series to the Nationals. At home. I realize it'll be tough to win either series, but it's not like either team has been playing exceptionally well lately.

    Nice throw by Hall, that could've gotten ugly. I know it was a line shot directly at him and they probably only sent Lofton cause there were 2 outs but it was still a good play.

    A lot of Cappy's pitches that have been balls have been closer than Gross' third strike call. But still, you can't walk Kenny Lofton twice when they just showed how he's struggled against lefties.

    I realize Sosa's probably extremely throw but he really didn't need to throw that, he's lucky it hit Sosa or that might've been a run.

    If he puts Hall at DH I hope he'd use Gross out in the field, then bring in Gwynn later in the game as a defensive replacement/pinch runner or whatever. Gwynn has one extra base hit in the last month, which is a span of 52 AB's.

    I'd have to imagine it'd be very frustrating if the Brewers don't break out the bats tomorrow against a guy who in his last five starts has a double digit ERA and a WHIP of over 2.

    It sure seems like Bill and Brian picked a good time last inning to praise the Cubs defense.
