  1. Overreaction of the day. I'm convinced some people were just born to hate him. Yes, that was stupid to go for the steal. Yes he flopped at that three point attempt, but players are coached to do that when they're bumped. How about the times he was on Crawford or Bradley and he was in their face the whole drive, forcing an errant layup? The guy's a good defender, you guys make it seem like he's not allowed to mess up.
  2. How can they get away with fouling Burke off the ball without it being intentional? I don't see anyway you can defend that call, he was going for a steal? Give me a break. Crawford's a freak by the way. Edit: TLB I disagreed with you at first cause he'd been playing some solid D, but that was a really poor decision to go for the steal there, why risk it?
  3. Huge 3 pointer by James there, he's only 2-8 but hitting his free throws and has a nice 3 assists to 0 turnovers. Hold on!
  4. Yeah, they had it last year. Please hold on, Xavier...
  5. Don't worry Peavey, Muskateers on a run!
  6. So did I. And apparently my head said "Take Xavier to the Elite 8." Yikes.
  7. I think that has more to do with the fact he lives in So. Cal, and has a general hatred for the Big Ten and/or Wisconsin. I can guarantee right now I would go to more games if Simmons became the Bucks GM, and I'm sure that can be said for a lot of other people too.
  8. 1. Siena- Vandy is way overrated, just 5-7 on the road with three of them coming against Toledo, Bradley, and DePaul, who is gawd-awful at defending. 2. West Virginia, kind of boring since they're only a 7 but oh well. 3. Marquette loses to Stanford. I really want to pick them past this one, but the guards, James in particular, will have to play really well to win 4. UW loses to Georgetown in Sweet 16. 5. Louisville, Kansas, Texas, UCLA. Another boring one. 6.UCLA over Kansas
  9. Man, can you imagine if he somehow fell and hurt himself using those? That would have to be right up there with Clint Barmes or Glenallen Hill for pointless injuries.
  10. That's sweet, Gonzaga-Davidson would be an awesome game to see. So would the Indiana game. At least you'll see two close games and two blow-outs.
  11. I'd hope these people legally change their names when they're old enough. If I remember right, Jason Lee's kid is named Pilot Inspektor. What's up with that?
  12. I'm not trying to spark a debate or anything, but I think it's hard to compare athletes that play team sports to individual ones like golf and tennis. It's impossible to know whether or not Woods (or Federer for that matter) is more dominant than a Jordan or Gretzky, cause they had to play with several other people.
  13. You're correct, Alaska. The Freddy Owens 3 ball at the end beat Tulsa to cap off an awesome comeback and go to the Sweet 16. Also, I was watching the Marquette game. Drinking Blatz. By myself sitting on the futon... Anyway that should hopefully give Marquette a 6 seed at worst. Heck, if they win the tournament they could maybe get a 4. The committee seems to like teams that somewhat surprisingly win their conference tourneys (Syracuse a couple years ago, and Maryland in like 2004). McNeal is a stud. Also, the losses by UConn and Notre Dame pretty much guaranteed UW at least a 3. They'll also probably pass/stay ahead of Louisville if they beat Michigan later today.
  14. A couple years ago a friend of a friend was putting his feet against the door frame a few feet up, so kinda like he was doing the splits only in mid air holding himself up with his feet (Wow that's a bad explanation). Anyway he somehow started to fall and grab the door, and managed to fall with his junk hitting the top of the door knob. He fell over and puked like 5 seconds later.
  15. They've both got to have some sort of probelms mentally/psychologically. Her case is pretty obvious, but why wouldn't the guy call for two years? That's insane.
  16. Last week a friend of mine from another school asked if I wanted to join a fantasy league with some guys from his dorm, cause they needed another one. It's only 10 bucks so I figured why not. Silly me didn't pay too much attention to the stat categories until the day of the draft (today) so I was in for a real treat. Included are: singles, errors, No Hitters (!) and Grand Slams. I already brought up the singles issue and someone said "I think we should keep them, I mean it's only one category and everyone gets them so why not?" At least Tony Gwynn Jr. now has value. This isn't really bugging me that much but I didn't want to find the "...Pointless" thread.
  17. I can't believe we had to wait til reply # 22 for Mallrats. I've only seen about 5 Kevin Smith movies, but that is by far the funniest to me. Black Sheep is my favorite Chris Farley comedy, it's always over-shadowed by Tommy Boy.
  18. I don't think I'll ever get why people are so terrible at typing when they're drunk. I mean sure I'll mess up some words every once in a while, but it's not like I'm like "Oh man I'm so wasted I can't even find the backspace! ajldidfjaoieuroiauweljyeah!"
  19. Yes! I had heard of it, but never seen it until a few months ago. I rented all the discs on Netflix and it was awesome. I can't believe it was cancelled after only 18 episodes, such a shame.
  20. Obviously steals aren't everything on D, and I'm not saying James is better at defense than Flowers, but James does average more steals/game than Flowers. He did an awesome job on Scottie Reynolds last Monday against Nova. Jerel McNeal gets a lot of credit for being solid on D, and deservedly so, but James is good too. This has also been his best year in terms of assist/turnover ratio, 3 point shooting %, and FT %. Granted the last two don't exactly jump out at you (33% and 67%), but it proves that people who say he hasn't improved don't really know what they're talking about.
  21. Cousins Subs. So much better than Subway and Quizno's, it's not even funny.
  22. Is Pulp Fiction a gangster movie? It revolves around some characters that are gangsters, but it's not really similar to a Goodfellas or Godfather. Anyway, here's my boring and mainstream list (if Pulp Fiction counts) 1. Pulp Fiction 2. The Departed 3. Goodfellas 4. The Godfather I 5. Reservoir Dogs I haven't seen many more than those. I still want to see Godfather 2 and 3, Casino, and others I can't think of right now. Plus I'm going to have to check out some of the ones mentioned already.
  23. I realize he hasn't progressed much the last two years, but I don't get the hatred for him. I just checked and he's 6th in the Big East in Assist/TO ratio. To say he has an "extremely low Basketball IQ" based on one play is completely ridiculous. That foul is probably like 4th or 5th on the list of reasons why Marquette lost the game, after missed free throws, Hayward's awful performance (why aren't more people on him?), and Crean having them not foul before they could shoot.
  24. Anchorman. It was funny, but not as funny as people made it out to be.
  25. A couple years ago John Kruk said Randy Johnson would win 30 games. Steve Phillips said Cliff Lee was the best LHP in the American League. That's probably all you really need to know about that show. I don't watch it too often, but I sure hope Fernando Vina isn't back.
