  1. You know you're having a bad inning when you give up homers to Gomez and Wilson, but I'll take it! Good job boys Let's go top of the order!
  2. I'm definitely in sell mode right now
  3. CrewCrazy, what about the first 2 months of Marcum's starts has given any indication of a decline. With the exception of a bad inning today, he has been lights out for nearly 6 weeks. Good pitching (sub 4.00 ERA) is extremely valuable. If he'd take 3/30 or 3/35 i'd be absolutely thrilled, but iIm a bit irritated that people are throwing Marcum in with the scrap heap.
  4. Marcum continues to deal... really would like to sign him for 3-4 years by the all-star break. If he's something like 10-2 with a sub 3.00 ERA, we need to get it done
  5. Casey McGehee needs to be benched... sadly, i have no idea who would replace him
  6. if he doesn't come up this inning, i say send him out for the 7th, but at the first sign of trouble, yank him. He's in line for the win, and has pitched very well with the exception of that three batter stretch in the 4th inning
  7. McGehee is simply having an awful season, with below average defense at the hot corner, and an OPS threatening to fall below .700. I realize that 3B that hit over .800 OPS are in short supply in the league, but it continues to be extremely frustrating to watch Casey come up with men on base and hit a weak grounder into a double play. Maybe this is an over-reaction to a dreadful May for Casey, but i question why he is hitting in the 5th hole after such a frustrating stretch. I realize all players are streaky, but Casey has really only had 1 good month (August, 2010) in his past 6. Looking at his OPS (by year), we're talking a serious decline. Hart, Weeks, LuCroy, Braun, and Fielder are raking, but man are Kotsay/Gomez, McGehee, and Betancourt/Counsell cold right now
  8. Two on, nobody out. Need to make some plays fellas. This looks like a carbon copy of previous starts. Lights out through 3-4 innings, and then running into trouble
  9. Glad to see Braunie take a walk (now at 25 for the season). He's taken fewer lately, but I really think Braun starts to feel it on offense when he's taking walks. Would really love to see him draw 100 BBs this season. That would almost guarantee him an OBP over .400
  10. Three solid innings for Zack Jack. Would really love to see 6-7 clean innings from him today. 5Ks through 3 innings! He's really mowing em down
  11. I'll support any move that gets Yuni off the field and team. That said, this could probably be merged into the Yuni thread?
  12. Wolf looks like he's going to give 2 right back to the rockies. 63 pitches through 3 1/3 IP
  13. Zach now has 4 starts under his belt, and should be getting close to max effectiveness after shaking off the spring rust. His counting stats other than ERA are pretty/very solid 21 IP 2 BB 29K 1.24 WHIP, but those 4 home runs and a few bad innings have really hurt his ERA. As we get into June/July and later the stretch run of the season, is it reasonable to expect his ERA and ability to limit "the big inning" will continue to improve? His WHIP at 1.24 is pretty good, but its probably unreasonable to expect that 14.5 K/BB ratio to continue, and if his walks increase even just a bit, he'll be looking at a WHIP in the 1.35-1.40 range. I'd really like to see him turn in a 3.00 ERA 1.1 WHIP 10+ K/BB ratio here on out, but I guess I expected him to have a bit more early success since many NL hitters had never faced him
  14. Good point. What i meant was that ZG has run into trouble in the 5th inning again. Fatigue from the short spring? He's been lights out in IP 1-4 in his past 2 starts. YIKES! 5 extra-base hits this inning
  15. Ugh, he's run into trouble in the late innings again. 33 pitches and counting this inning
  16. I'll actually be more impressed this season if Braun gets 100 BB than if he hits 40 HR. I won't complain if he does both!
  17. I think we need to fire Sedar. Our base running this season is pathetically awful
