  1. Any reason nobody uses chat anymore? Braun seemed pumped that he is emerging from his mini-slump, but i didn't think he was cocky or anything. Would like to see Brauny get that average back up over .330, that OBP over .400, and that SLG back over .600 Thank you to all of our servicemen and servicewomen, but man is that brewers/military ball cap UGLY
  2. Wow, that FSN graphic showed 2010 stats, sub-set stats versus the Reds, and showed LuCroy as a member of the Pirates... that was just weird. Good first inning. Hopefully Zach Jack can set down the Pirates in order again and keep that pitch count low. Would really like to see him get through 7 under 90 pitches. 7 IP 4H 1 ER 0 BB 9K would look darn nice
  3. Casey is really starting to frustrate me. A sub .750 OPS at a premium offensive position, with crappy defense will simply not get it done, even if he is making peanuts. that said, i don't have a better alternative given our budget
  4. Crewcrazy- Since he's arby eligible (i believe) for next year, would you be opposed to a 4 year deal (Last Arby Year + 3 year extension?). He'd be 33-34 at the end of that deal. $8M (2012), $10M (2012), $12M (2013), $14M (2014) - 4 years / $44 million. The deal would expire soon enough that it wouldn't prevent us from extending Gallardo (assuming he pulls out of his funk)
  5. It will be a bittersweet offseason if Marcum continues his stellar first 6 weeks of the season through the end of 2011. At the moment, I would project Marcum at 16-8 with a sub 3.00 ERA, sub 1.10 WHIP and 4-1 K-BB Ratio. At that pace, even with his injury history, i'd imagine he might be able to position himself for a 5-7 year contract at 18-20/per. I realize there is a huge risk in signing a pitcher with injury history to a long term deal, but I'm starting to feel that if Marcum has a stellar first half, the All-Star break might be our final opportunity to sign him beyond 2012 before he decides he wants to test the market. Early discussion surrounded a contract offer between 4/40 and 4/56 to Marcum. Might Melvin be seriously considering tendering Marcum? While our early season struggles suggest we might not be able to put it together in the Fielder Era, i believe that signing Marcum long term is a key factor in keeping Greinke around post 2012.
  6. I wonder if Melvin is starting to get serious about signing Marcum long term. 6 Starts: 36.2 IP, 11 BB 34 K 1.06 WHIP 2.21 ERA I'm excited to see ZG pitch, but i'm sold that SM is the real deal
  7. 1) We're at/over budget 2) Doug Melvin does brilliant things but sometimes is stubborn about keeping bad players around 3) Nobody is eliminated from contention yet.
  8. This thread is giving me a headache. The argument Braun isn't worth his contract because Tulo might be better is making my head spin. Braun and Tulo are probably both Top-10 players in all of baseball. I'm just glad we have Braun for his whole career, and TWO top-10 hitters in baseball right now. Now if we can just get a shortstop.
  9. I have watched approximately 1,000 MLB games in my life. Betancourt is, by far, the worst major league SS i have ever seen. Heck, i'd be tempted to move Rickie Weeks to SS (blue) if we still had Lawrie on pace to break in as a 2B I realize the number of SS in MLB that play above average defense and have a OPS above .750 is limited, but SS that are excellent with the glove and hit .600 are a dime a dozen.
  10. Must our pitching staff allow EVERY Cinci leadoff hitter to reach this inning? Wowsers, do I hate Cincy. Is their offense this good, or are we just sucking like nothing have ever sucked before? This series aside, our starting pitching has been stellar thus far this season. Sure would like to see a few our our weak links in the bullpen sent down however
  11. LuCroy, aside from his boneheaded baserunning last week, has been unreal. Hopefully the big boys come through next inning should we escape this one still tied. I was throwing things when I saw Green come in, but atleast he can't be used anymore today and cause any more damage
  12. 5 Innings Pitched, 13 baserunners. I hope Greinke can do better. Gallardo looks (by far) like our worst pitcher so far this spring. Narverson is coming back to earth, but Wolf, Marcum, and Estrada have been stellar so far.
  13. Dang nabbit Yovanni. We tie the game, and the first thing you do is put the first two batters on. Two on, no outs, with Brewer Killer Jay Bruce up and NL MVP on deck. Brilliant
  14. There it is! 24 straight games. Would have preferred a go-ahead jack, but i'll take it
  15. Would really be nice to Braunie to get #24 this inning. Preferably a three run jack
