  1. they gotta have the home plate mikes on max volume...every hit ball sounds like it's crushed
  2. they keep talking about how awesome the Cubs lineup is...no hits through 3... #namesnotnumbers
  3. must be a contest to see if Brewers can get themselves out on 0 pitches....super aggressive early
  4. What a crock - manager/player quotes are totally fine, but the writer slants that article very poorly. I clicked to see if there were two articles written about this game, one from a Brewers' perspective and Nightengale's from a Cubs' perspective - nope. It would be so sweet to win the division there today at Wrigley - I hope the bats wake up in a big way against a lefty starter.
  5. wind seemingly more from the east than southeast, so it's basically just blowing in a bit from right and not necessarily helping alot out to left - at least early in the game.
  6. That's what happens with a rookie QB alot, though - and it has little to do with the opponent. Packers' D probably took a look at last week's film to make sure they took away certain plays or didn't give Allen the same defensive formations that led to their big plays against the Vikes, and they couldn't find something else that worked. Keep in mind buffalo looked horrid their 1st two games, too. I think the Vikes team as a whole is overrated and got a fat record last year primarily off Rodgers' injury (2 of their wins) and a relatively soft schedule in 2017. Took fluky plays to get them to the NFC title game and they proceeded to get destroyed. The fact the Bills beat them up a couple Sundays ago coupled with how the Rams scored on them at will and how GB's offense played well against them should mark a trend showing the Vike's D isn't special in 2018, either. The Rams easily look like the NFC's best team thus far, but I still struggle to view them as the favorite until their QB proves he can make plays when it really counts. They are going to roll their bad division and wind up with a great record, but it's weird thinking they don't really scare me in the playoffs. (Same can be said about any team rolling with a young QB the first part of the year until they prove they can win in January).
  7. I feel like Peralta or Anderson is the play here - if it goes well you move into your stable of rested quality relievers. If it goes poorly you run out the pen arms who won't be on playoff rosters and roll with Chacin starting tomorrow. I actually don't see today's game being close for some reason, but I don't have a feel for which team wins because they're so evenly matched - I think one team jumps out to a decent lead early and the other makes early pitching changes accordingly to keep key arms fresh for their wild card game. The takeaway from both of today's game 163s should be to stay set up reasonably well for their 1st playoff game. Because of that, early crooked numbers are huge. Let's go Brewers!
  8. Lol at the cubs having to use the whole pen today to get a win...cards are actually 1 big swing from making it really interesting again
  9. Which means he will go 6 scoreless today
  10. Cubs into the pen very early today, cards gotta pour it on
  11. No, it was the 5 game pirates sweep and fluky 4 game sweep at wrigley in late April that makes it tough...I say fluky because weather conditions played just as big of a role as cub pitching in shutting the offense down. Look for times when the team you root for gets swept as primary reasons for big gaps in the standings...those are two of the very few times the brewers were swept in 2018
  12. A guy who throws 105, a slippery mound, and the likelihood of a slick baseball...what could go wrong??
  13. Cmon one time yadi...neck tatoos are awesome!
  14. Gotta give it to hendricks, pitching well and to the conditions today. stinks their pen gets most all of today off
  15. Rain seemingly picking up at wrigley...
  16. Bud norris, leadoff walk to the pitcher in the 7th...unreal. More keystone cops cards in the field and fluky cub bounces. Just win tonight brewers, and maybe the cards will show up tomorrow. Oh now apparently it's the mounds fault norris sucks
  17. What a terrible, horrible ab there
  18. Break with a bad throw there...better not get overturned
