We just need them to be red hot during this series. On the up (or up-ish) side, the Brewers have only one game left against the Classy Machine this season! -
D'oh, Kyle freakin' Lohse. Also chatroom's stupid "Reconnect in 16 seconds" autoreply every time I try to enter. On the slightly entertaining side (for me), King of the Surnames is now pitching for STL.

Gold is not a good color on me, so I'm kind of glad we're going to Sunday's game. But as others have said, some type of gold t-shirt should not be too hard to find. I'm OK with the concept of everyone (or most everyone) wearing the same color to a game, but navy would be a lot easier to do, and would contrast with Phillies red just as much. -
Huh, I could swear that I looked at the BP odds earlier this morning and it didn't read 100.0 for Milwaukee. I can see Philadelphia being at 100.0 (they have been for a while), since they have the wild-card as a fallback, but otherwise I don't know what to tell you and will be interested to see how those more expert with stats answer. As for that 1/3 of a game, clearly STL will make it up on their next half-off-day. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif And as for a "wild card magic number," I suppose a day might come when the Brewers will have clinched a playoff berth (whether wild card or division champion), but why would the WC magic number be all that different from the division magic number?

Gumbel would make sense if he were trying to be "real professional" like a sportscaster, but it does sound like Gumbo. I just tweeted him to ask. We'll see if he replies.

There's one STL fan among my Facebook friends. He's a nice guy, as long as the topic of Brewers vs. Cardinals doesn't come up. When it does, he gets into "red kool-aid" mode and does his best to suck the joy out of my happy Brewers posts. A month ago, after the antics in Milwaukee earned STL a plethora of media disapproval, he was still responding that TLR has championships. I suppose he could just as easily be posting on some STL board right now about how he's got this one friend who's a Brewer fan, and who would be perfectly normal if she didn't buy into all these classless stunts they keep pulling. But it bugs me that we're like-minded in so many other ways, yet absolutely not when it comes to baseball. I'd like to think he'd realize some day that if I'm okay with the "Brewers way," then maybe it's not so horrible. I'm not expecting this, however.

This is incredible, if only in its participation level. I'll be surprised if the photo isn't labeled soon enough, somewhere on the internets. Some of the guys look very much at home in the western gear (like Luc and Casey). Others do not (ahem, Craig). I'm having trouble conclusively identifying Mark Kotsay.
