  1. Link to Haudricourt story I'll be happy to stand extra long to welcome back Rickie for those of you who can't attend Sunday's game.
  2. Translation: He'll stand out because it's not gold. Have fun.
  3. We can't go tonight, but I fished out one of my two gold t-shirts. I look terrible in gold. I must really love the Brewers. Keep battling.
  4. I sometimes get business credit card offers at work, but the one that puzzles me most is the quarterly DirecTV shill - sent to me at the library.
  5. If it makes you feel any better, reillymcshane, I'm just about always up for some Sal Bando bashing. Back in bf.net's early days (well before Yuku, so we don't have evidence of it anymore), someone here - I want to say gregmag - called Sal a waste of carbon, or something like that. I'm not particularly the vindictive type, but that made me smile.
  6. Nice time to stop being rock solid, Craig Kimbrel.
  7. Welp, let's hope that 9th inning signaled a wakeup for the Brewers' offensive slumber. Also, hang on, Braves.
  8. Dang it, my Luc shirt is in the laundry. Make it more interesting, Brewers.
  9. I could go for that. Come on, Brewers, at least make it interesting.
  10. Better late than never, I guess, but not as good as 'fessing up promptly rather than letting the media have a couple of field days vs. Nyjer. (Not that Nyjer is blameless.) Also, see my signature. I may have to hang onto it until Carpenter retires.
  11. So, Brewers: 11 is a nice number and all, but let's move off it tonight. Please?
  12. Cory Provus said during Thursday's broadcast that something like 45% of the Phillies' runs scored this year have come with two outs. Not that Narveson's "big inning" habit couldn't have contributed too, but the Brewers can't have been the only team to be stung by PHI that way.
  13. Could you state your feelings as feelings/opinion rather than "reality"? It's still possible the Brewers will sustain an epic collapse, but it's also still possible that they maintain their lead, or enough of a lead, to advance. We've got people here on each side of that aisle, and we're all pondering realistic situations.
  14. If this proves to be how the game ends, it reminds me of two things: Narvdog's tendency to succumb to the 'big inning,' and the first two games of the NLDS, when the Brewers only yielded runs to PHI in one inning per game.
  15. This is certainly going to make tonight's sausage race anticlimatic.
  16. Grumble...Shane F. Victorino. I guess we can hope it's a ground rule double. Edit: Thus at least delaying the inevitable tying run. /shaking fist
  17. So...lots of us are either at Miller Park or Lambeau?
  18. Different "red" opponent, same objective. 1-0 for today. Say hey to thablingster if you're going tonight.
  19. You can adjust this expectation. I have a haircut appointment at 7:00 tonight but as soon as we're back in the car we'll have the radio on, and as soon as we get home we'll have FSW and Brewerfan going.
  20. I only listened by radio and did not see the to-do. However, I think the notions of "Nyjer getting hot" and "Carpenter pushing Nyjer's buttons" are equally plausible. See you in 2012, STL, and even then will be too soon.
  21. The Brewers did win Monday night. Though it would be nice if the Pirates could manage a better 6-game record than 1-5 or 2-4. Davego, I wish I knew what to tell you about the chat. It's been hit and miss for me much of the summer. I sometimes have success clearing my browser history before entering.
  22. Not unlike Dr. Nick Riviera and the coroner....I'm so sick of these guys. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRu5DJMIKUnYjq20tHO1Y8rwMLAYkOCTL8Fg5lDJP__ELEPN1xe
  23. You say that as though we wouldn't be better off with Furcal than our current SS. Care to expound? Because you can put me in the category of thinking we needed to get him. 14 of Furcals 30 hits as a Cardinal have come against the Brewers. We should have gotten him just for when he is playing us because outside of that he has been pretty bad. His OBP is under .300 as a Cardinal. Yuni's numbers have been fairly similar over the same time, but Furcal has to be better on defense. Guys, that ship has sailed. Is it really the best use of our time to rehash the Furcal issue?
  24. Is Chris Carpenter sporting a mohawk? Is that classy? Can he explain that to his son?
  25. I'm going to relish at least a six-month break from typing those STL names into an IGT lead post. 1-0 for Wednesday, Brewers? Come on and give Chris Carpenter some 'splainin' to do.
