  1. Bleah, I winced as I typed in the Classies' starting lineup. I'm reaching for hand sanitizer next. So the fans on the field last night are known to be STL fans rather than classless Cubthugs?
  2. Great timing for this thread, because I was just thinking about this over the weekend. I'll add a reason the rest of you wouldn't have cause to contribute. Over 11 seasons of 20-pack ticket holding in section 417, we've gotten to know many of the terrace-level ushers and guest relations staff (after all, in the early 2000s there weren't many people sitting upstairs, much less regularly sitting upstairs). One employee in particular watched many a Brewers rally with me from the 417/418/419 landing (ok, that was more in the latter 2000s). He and his family moved out of state during the 2009 season, about the time the Brewers lost their slight grip on first place and began a season and half of relative suck. They moved back to Wisconsin two weeks ago, and he's back at MP. Playoffs.
  3. Save us, Zack Greinke! Here's hoping this series brings ample opportunity to cite my signature line.
  4. Aww, I had that song going in my head the whole first day after Carlos' injury. But I suppose that's how you got the earworm.
  5. I'm gonna knock you OUT! Mama said knock you OUT!
  6. My maternal grandparents had a Barrelman Brewers magnet on their refrigerator for as long as I could remember. It's now on our fridge, in the same spot at the upper center of the freezer door.
  7. The Brewers had a Sunday lineup, but the Astros now arguably sport a "Sunday roster." Don't let up, fellas. 1-0 on Monday.
  8. Woah, it's Sunday, all right. Try to overcome that lineup, Brewers.
  9. I'd kick in an extra dollar to watch Kameron Loe pitch to Jose Altuve...or for the two to stand next to each other.
  10. That's kind of sad. Then Unknown gets a double in his major league debut.
  11. Aw, that Polly Pocket guy is pinch-hitting for the 'Stros. Dude is about my height, and by that I don't mean the stated "5-7."
  12. Nice, Luc! Real nice! Pedal to the metal, fellas.
  13. We need to collectively decide how to refer to the Brewers' newest acquisition. I'm going to use JHJ for now. Go Brewers. 1-0 for today.
  14. Kameron Loe had a boa constrictor named Angel until 2009, when he went to play in Japan. He then gave Angel to a family in Dallas who had occasionally looked after her while he was with the Rangers. Pretty fun game last night. Houston lived down to our expectations and my nephew not only finally saw a win, but got either the last or one of the last BP balls Hunter Pence tossed to a kid as a Stro. Concession-wise, I was delighted to see that the club level deli still has the Brat Bomber sandwich, though somewhat less delighted to see that they hiked the price from $5 in 2010 to $8 this year. Brewers: Don't let up. That is all.
  15. I'm certain it's Barmeseseses. If he became a Brewer I'd be calling him Deermeat anyway. Don't think, deermeat, just throw. Clint was the first fielding link in a nice double play last night, which caught my eye because it didn't seem like a play Yuni would turn. Then again, Wolf struck him out.
  16. Ueck calls him "Jerry Harris-ton, Jr.", which will irk me slightly, but otherwise I'm on board. Welcome, JHJ.
  17. Hanging in the club tonight with my brother and nephew, and hoping for a home team win.
  18. So, fans at Wednesday night's game were treated to Fukudome's final appearance in a Cubs uniform. Huh.
  19. Betancourtian might be a better adjective than Yunieskyesque. I can't decide!
  20. Do the "live look-ins" always cut off at the most dramatic part? Anyway, good on you, Brewers. Keep the pedal to the metal.
  21. Early this morning I'd forgotten to add that the cub-fan element was hardly noticeable from our seats last night. Big props to TB 417 for having only two CHC-clothed fans. The concourses did appear to be full of cubs fans every time I walked out there. The "Let's go, BREW-ers" chant in the central terrace sections during Axford's 9th was music to my ears.
  22. Yunisell or Counsecourt? That is my question.
  23. I was telling Rickie to "hustle hard." Not that he could hear me, but that's what he was doing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif What's weird is that I'm strangely calm about his injury, and although I was nervous in the 9th, I still enjoyed the game as a whole. At least the injury took place before the trade deadline. August 1 would have been even more frustrating - though I'd expect any team willing to make a deal to ask a king's ransom now. It's simply time for others to step up. You could say it's big-boy time.
  24. Almost my exact first thought. I suppose having Wil behind the plate is better than having no one at all (since the umpires tend not to want to catch pitches). Bye, Wil. Thanks for being around while Lucroy healed...I guess.
