  1. Yeah, I was going to add "wonder how many times the word 'back' be uttered in one evening?" But adamb100 essentially beat me to it. Here's hoping for a respectable showing by each Brewer. Imagine - two Brewers in the derby!
  2. Well, the roof is not airtight. I don't think it was designed to be. The events that lead to water coming in despite a closed roof seem to be mostly if not always heavy, wind-blown rain events (like you'd get in a severe thunderstorm). At least the 2002 Home Run Derby wasn't cancelled or rain-delayed. Also, yeah, the roof was open for all of Sunday's game...and good thing, otherwise it would have been a sauna. Based on how the radar looked when we left Madison at 9:00 AM, I wouldn't have been surprised by a closed roof, though. I'm guessing the line of storms that had been northwest of Madison did not hold together.
  3. Cool; happy to help. I got a Bears hat in 2009, shortly after the Negro League game, and by the end of the '09 season didn't see it in the store anymore - but then it was back around Negro League time in 2010. The only other fan I've seen with one is the Doorman (though his is probably authentic and not an adjustable replica like mine). The interlocking MB of the mid-1990s is still my least favorite Brewers logo. The M as noted in the lead post is better. I wasn't a fan of those uniforms at all, but I understood why they wanted to make a change after the Yount era ended.
  4. wisconsinfan47, I was thinking of that 2008 game just as today's game ended (Walk down IGT memory lane). It turned out to be among my favorites of that season - and as you know, that season turned out to have pretty stiff competition for "good games" by its end. Now, what would be really nice is if the Brewers' 2011 season included a postseason as well (only maybe longer than the one in 2008). Suppose Craig hitting a sac fly GWRBI in the last game before the all-star break is the key? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'm not really a vindictive fan, but I plainly love seeing Franci$co Cordero fail against the Brewers. Hope that extra $4MM was worth it, dude. Also, suck it. Man, was it hot at the park. Today was our group game with the S.O.'s family, so we also tailgated, which only added to the heat. I was quite happy the roof stayed open. I was happier yet that Craig got a nice hero day, if not a hit. This is the third year we've organized a family game, and I think the relatives count on us to deliver wins. So far the Brewers are 3-0 lifetime when we attend as a group. Adding to the outstandingness of the day was a very special cameo appearance by thablingster (as he notes above). Rest up, fellows; and either stay or get healthy.
  5. Ooh, that website also has a Borchert Field Grounds Crew jacket. slobberknocker, it might be worth calling the Brewers Team Store to see if they ever have it on hand. 1-888-DUGOUT4 or 414-902-4750. For example, they have been selling a Milwaukee Bears cap (like worn in Saturday's game) the last few seasons, but they only bring it out around the time of the Negro Leagues game. In the apparent absence of other options, it's worth a try.
  6. Once hawing feels this way, you know something needs to be done with a player. I realize you can't have Friday-style magic every game, but this result seemed avoidable.
  7. Let's avoid stuff like "turd" and "garbage" to describe players. There is no need for posts as ugly as this half-inning just was. Smallest of silver linings: at least it's not a save situation for the Reds.
  8. For me it would make a difference what player was involved, and how big the milestone. I'd probably be kinder to a Brewer than someone from another team.
  9. Yup...that too; occasional white screens; and the chat wasn't available early in the game (though it is now). Yuku being Yuku, is my guess.
  10. The chat room is now working. Stop by if you can stand the timing (I know not everyone can) and experience the miracle. Our rally caps worked last night!
  11. The logout problem continues for me, and yuku.com won't load at all, so the workaround that had been working for me isn't. In case y'all thought I just never want to leave Brewerfan...well, maybe not, but I haven't been sitting here 24/7 - it only looks that way.
  12. I don't know if the reason for his absence has been specified, but there was a FSWisconsin announcement before the season began indicating that he'd be gone for part of July.
  13. That's a bummer, but I think it's prudent. I'd rather have a 100% (or reasonably near) Ryan during the second half. Also, it's nice for Andrew McCutchen to get an opportunity. Maybe Pirate Nation will dial down their hatred for Braun a few ticks.
  14. Marco's role reminds me of Carlos Villanueva's. I always appreciated that Carlos agreed to move back and forth between pitching roles, and I appreciate Marco similarly. Let Marcomania commence. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  15. The fan gave it to Jeter and didn't ask for anything in return. The Yankees ponied up, anyway, giving him four suite tickets from now through the World Series...Woah, that is some kind of confidence level. I guess the rest of the AL can just pack it in already.
  16. It looks like Johnny Cueto got Sabathia or Fielder pants. Hiked up they look just silly.
  17. Well, I won't lie: if giving me one of the towels would take your mind off how tonight's game ended for the Reds, I'll take one. PM me if you have one available and I'll send you my postal address. And as happy as I am for the Brewers tonight, I am genuinely sorry for you. It sucks to see your team blow a game on the road. I have been in that position as a fan.
  18. Nope. Negro League unis tomorrow. So he was right then? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif No; they'll wear different different uniforms tomorrow. Uecker's call on the game ending play = Epic.
  19. I am stunned. Based on a vow I just made in the chat room, I now have to buy a Kotsay tee. Well, thanks, Mark. How about if we sweep the Reds you have to wear it to every game you attend this year? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gifThat's tough. I just got a Morgan tee and he earned some t-shirt props tonight too. Fortunately, the S.O. has assured me he will wear the Kotsay shirt.
  20. This takes me back to a Friday night in 2008 when I booed Cordero so loudly that our usher was giving me funny looks. It takes a lot to make me want to do that. That's right, Franci$$$co. You can suck it.
  21. I am stunned. Based on a vow I just made in the chat room, I now have to buy a Kotsay tee. Well, thanks, Mark.
  22. http://www.okokchina.com/Files/uppic55/T-Shape%20Pillow911.jpg (rotate this a quarter turn in your minds) And yes, I know it's late.
  23. There aren't many ex-Brewers who inspire rage in me, but Franci$co is one of them.
