  1. I agree with benji; the cosmos will make sure he can be in the all-star events.
  2. Kotsay giveth, and Kotsay taketh away. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  3. Those of you with access to the Brewers Radio Network may want to check out Uecker interacting with a Make-a-Wish kid. Nice. REAL nice! Also, Mark Kotsay, I'm not saying I've forgiven you for shamelessly using "Your Love" as your walkup music to try to win me over, but thanks for the dinger.
  4. There's bound to be some pun out there with Leake and stealing and the balk, but I'm tired tonight and can't put it together.
  5. Agreed. It may be easier to become a more polished speaker than to actually get smarter about baseball. Rickie! He seems to be taking Bill Hall's place as Red killer. Also - the chat room is working for me at the moment. Come celebrate that small miracle if you'd like.
  6. They do still do this. We have a sheet of Team Store coupons, one per month of the season. I'm looking at it for the first time since we received it in March. We missed our chance for 15% off any Nike item (April), 15% off any Brewed for Her item (May), and 15% off any Brewers apparel (June). The remaining coupons: July - 15% off any Brewers headwear August - 15% off any custom T-shirt September - 15% off any purchase on non-game days I might have a use for the August coupon, but madgrad, if you'd like either the July or September coupons, send me your postal address in a PM.
  7. Come on, Brewers. Several of your Brewerfan faithful could really use a nice game experience tonight. Won't you please think of Brewerfan?
  8. Ooh, good for you. The hawing games are Thursday and Sunday, so I won't see you at all (and we don't have field tickets). I'll let others chime in for themselves. If you get a Ryan Braun rally towel Friday and don't want it, I'll bet someone from here would take it off your hands! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  9. Robin19, I don't know if it's more than random luck, but I'll send you a PM about it rather than take this thread on a tangent. If I haven't sent the PM by Thursday, send me a reminder.
  10. If this time off gives Ryan's calf enough rest for him to return and play at 100% the rest of the season, I'll accept the current stumble.
  11. So, that was a clunker. Did it actually rain in Milwaukee during the game? We figured rain had to be on the way for them to close the roof when it was 88 degrees at game time, but the side panels were open the whole game and we saw no obvious signs of rain when we left MP. It wasn't the hottest I've sat through there, but it was warm. We exchanged some tickets at the season ticket window and were offered a free upgrade, from section 417 to row 4 of section 110 (within 10 feet of the RF ball girl). The dramatic change in proximity was a reasonable distraction from the on-field suck, at least. I was struck at how many of the people around us paid almost no attention to the game, even in the first eight minutes when it was still a game. You'd pay $100 per seat to jabber about everything from Nazi Germany to what you and your buddy remember from kindergarten? (Just two of the topics discussed by the guys to my left). They were nice once-in-a-while novelty seats, but I'll take my season seats most of the time. The hawing record is now 13-5. I hope this is the worst game we attend in 2011, because it would mean the worst is behind us. During this game we decided to use our Thursday night tickets, mostly to get Tuesday's game out of our systems. Finally, sorry I didn't perform in the 3-hole, but I'm thrilled to have made SoCalBCF's lineup. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Edit: Ridiculously after the fact, but I totally called Prince's "meaningless solo shot," and I have a witness in the S.O. to prove it.
  12. I'm skeptical that fans can be "the stopper," but the Brewers' 2011 record in games we've attended is still pretty solid, so I'll see what the hawing party can do. Fingers crossed.
  13. No, and maybe. But if Mark thinks he'll win me over with that 80s anthem, he should think again. You can't copy magical moments. We were at that Ohka game in 2006. It was fun.
  14. Ohhhh, Shaun. Way to bring the two-out magic. Edit: FSW just showed a fan with a Plush t-shirt.
  15. See you in hell, American League. Or possibly in October. Get back on the bike, Brewers.
  16. After he swatted the bug (or whatever), some bullpenners (Loe, Braddock, Hawkins) snuck up behind and starting puttin' down the T, which got Nyjer all plushed up and into aaaahhhhIgottago mode.
  17. The game recap on the radio ended just in time for the start of the fireworks in Madison. As we walked home from campus after the show, the S.O. and I agreed that after hearing the 9th inning on the radio, the fireworks were anticlimactic. I'll join the chorus in hoping for the best for Ryan's calf.
  18. Following from outdoors while waiting for the fireworks. Happy birthday, Nyjer, and Matt Capps can suck it.
  19. So why was there even a home-run-derby section of the all-star ballot this year?
  20. And here I thought the tarp was on the field because it was raining at the time. That'll show me to think. #wherestheroof
  21. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif I happened to have the day off when he beat the Yankees and I watched on MLB Network. I think the two keys to Doug's on-field mojo were to wear #49 (which obviously couldn't happen his second time in MIL or with CHC) and to have me in the viewing audience.
  22. A Counsell departure before August 14 would lead to no small awkwardness on his bobblehead day. I know the on-field factors should take precedence, but that would be a large fan-favorite miscue on the Brewers' part. During the Twins series last weekend, the charity folks ran out of Craig Counsell pins and began giving out extra Shaun Marcum pins. Dude is a MLB folk hero. Bye to Kotsay --> Mike Cameron gets his #25 back --> ???? --> Playoffs --> Chris Carpenter tries to explain it to his son. OK, not that simple, but it's not impossible.
  23. So if you don't mind sharing, Joseph, where are you sitting? I don't mean exact seats so we can badger you (get it? Badger?), but field, loge, club or terrace. Also, not to nit pick but I thought the Leinie's "craft" beer tasting was next Friday. The Brewers' promotion schedule also indicates that the first 30,000 fans on Friday 7/8 will receive Ryan Braun rally towels. Between that, the Negro Leagues tribute night on Saturday 7/9, the bobble on Sunday 7/10, and the mere fact that it's a heart-of-summer weekend series, I'd expect large crowds.
  24. Not going to lie; I'm looking forward to NL games resuming.
  25. Huh. 13 December 1969 is the birthdate of my grad school roommate. I wonder if she's involved with that bug.
