  1. OK, Mark, show us why people call you a professional hitter. Also, RALLY CAPS IN THE CHAT ROOM.
  2. Narv: could you be effective? Do I have to be in the middle of typing a post like this before you can record an out?
  3. Depends. Could be a cold, could be the flu, could be something in between. You'd think something a bit more disruptive than a common cold, since Ryan is not playing. Edit: The media guide confirms that this is Tampa Bay's first trip to Milwaukee for a series, and only the second series overall between the two teams.
  4. It says that Brewers fans really like clicking the mouse and punching the ballots. Go Brewers. Keep things in check, Narvdog. Edit: Just got the updated lineups...I'll edit the lead post shortly and even get the teams on the right sides!
  5. No doubt, because look who the Brewers host on August 1-3 and where they go on August 9-11. This thread has several posts which, while they make me laugh, kind of tread the karma line for the Brewers. Remember, but for the grace of the baseball gods do we not have our own new serious injury to absorb. Having said that, good call to jjkoestler on the "watched for 9 seconds" bit. Finally.... (my crummy attempt at a down arrow) | | v
  6. Did CC Sabathia have as much of a gut when he played for the Brewers as he appeared to have in tonight's game vs. the Cubs? Is that all Subway? Man.
  7. Ohhh. This might prove to be the wrong day to invite my mom over to watch the game in HD. But she's on her way already and doesn't know.
  8. #46 had already gone to the likes of Todd Ritchie and Allan Simpson. So this wasn't the first sullying of the number.
  9. This game featured Fenway's largest crowd to date of 2011: 38175. I know it's mid-June, but vs. the Brewers!
  10. That's an interesting euphemism: WOOHOO! TAKE THAT PROSTATE CANCER!!!!!11!!one
  11. Wow, what a start. Though the cautious part of me reminds me that the Brewers scored two early runs Friday, too. Of course, it's no longer Friday. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. I'm glad it worked out so well for you, TracyThom.
  13. It was originally noon, but changed to 6 because of the Bruins parade.Sorry, joepepsi, but the time switch helped me out for once, since I was at work this afternoon and would have completely missed a 12:10 start. Come on, Brewers, the rest of the Central won't skid forever.
  14. I was thinking Ron Rightnower.Jorge Julio for me. I wonder if the Herrera #46 jersey will be extra cheap at the next clubhouse sale. At least a jersey for someone 5' 6" might not hang down to my knees. On the up side, he had a short leash; though his 21.60 ERA is going to mar the Brewers' 2011 stats forever. I can't even say "thanks for playing" this time. Bye.
  15. You know how G.W. Bush pronounces "nuclear" as "nuke-you-lar"? Davey Nelson does the same with Kevin "You-kyou-lis." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  16. To answer a previous question, Cory Provus mentioned early in the game that Uecker is out this weekend to attend to personal business. He emphasized that Bob is fine health-wise.
  17. This sheds a little more light on the roster move (excerpt follows): At least, it establishes that discipline is involved. How related it is to Zach's sleep disorder and/or other disorders is unknown (and possibly should remain as such to fans).
  18. Yikes - the first time I read hurricanecrush's post above, I saw "3rd world" instead of "3rd ward." Oops. Sorry; carry on. Joseph, have a great time in Milwaukee (except perhaps the on-field results).
  19. Ohh, a rainout would mess up the rotation, and I'd been looking forward to a Greinke start on June 21. Noooo! (Unless they simply skipped Narvdog for once, or played two on Thursday...I need to stop dwelling on this.) If they do play, let's hope no Brewers slip and injure themselves (Yuni included) on the stupid slippery grass of stupid Wrigley. Finally, and most importantly, happy birthday Robin19! Edit: The photo in the lead post is my new favorite-ever photo of Narvdog.
  20. Then I'm mildly surprised that SF deigned to sign someone so problematic. They must have been desperate after losing Freddy Sanchez. Despite my dismay that they can't let this go, I'm glad you shared the link. I'd be interested to someday know about the other celebrations devised by such miscreants as Trevor Hoffman.
  21. I hope there is no extra-inning game this year that goes on so long that Wolf is needed on the mound, because imagine bringing in Wil in the 18th inning or so. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
  22. Yeah, the Sunday crowds aren't always fully engaged with the game, but today the majority knew what was at stake. Boy, that was fun. I was also happy to see Shaun Marcum finally move past six wins; dude has pitched well enough lately so it probably should have happened by now. I hope the Brewers don't rest on their laurels now...and I hope Chris Carpenter's son is coping well tonight.
  23. Pedal to the metal, Brewers. Don't let up. Edit: Despite the "Sunday lineup." http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/indifferent.gif
